A bald old man stares at the tree

Tree has no mind to hax, and outlives him.

Vote for tree

...

Is this going to be a thing now? Putting the composite tree against opponents it literally outlives just to get some wins on its profile?

Because I am totally up for that.

Can his boldness just leave the battlefield and find something to use and take down the tree as it doesn't have sense that he just stands there until he dies.

SBA negates means that both are in New York. I'm pretty sure that Charles is smart enough to find some gasoline, a match stick, and set the tree on fire.

Shhhhh don't spoil this.

But yeah, fair point. Or just mind control some people around into chopping it down.

Ok, vote for X

It's a strange word the one where godslayers are defeated by paraplegics, isn't it?

So, Prof. X can win by go to general store to fetch a gasoline and burn the tree? Impressive, I knew the composite tree is wanked

Mindfucking someone so that they don't bother you is hardly "outside help". Using them to destroy the tree sure, robbing them no

If Xavier is at 1 meter of the Tree, then the Tree's toxins could harm it. Due to SBA making it rain (So that the tree is in top condition), Xavier would be affected by the Machineel 's toxins. Burning it would also cause toxic fumes.

Not sure if that would make the tree win, but it's something to keep in mind.

They are a few hundred of meters away because it's the maximum range of the CT. Dunno if the toxins would be a problem, but if he has 3 PHD in biology, he'd probably recognize the symptoms of the toxic fumes

Also not sure if that applies, but some forests are entirely composed of a single tree . This would mean that composite tree would likely also be several trees (Which are still the same organism, mind you). This would mean that Xavier would have to take down multiples Sequoia-sized trees before the toxins do too much damage to him.

EDIT: More information. This kind of cypress is somewhat resistant to fire. A group of them were the only trees to survive a massive forest fire. The guy would have to burn a tree with this characteristic as well.

True. But the toxins transported with the rain do not kill, just leave scars and irritations. Also the gasoline would probably make the flames last long enough to eventually burn it. And he isn't really forced to be near enough to inhale the fumes (doing the opposite is actually the most common choice. Or he could just find a way to inject a virus/bacteria inside of it to do the job

@Loyal

Antidotes are a thing.

IF he starts next to the tree while it is raining, which would happen under standard battle conditions, he would get poisoined immeditaly.

Its milky white sap contains phorbol and other skin irritants, producing strong allergic dermatitis.[5] Standing beneath the tree during rain will cause blistering of the skin from mere contact with this liquid (even a small drop of rain with the milky substance in it will cause the skin to blister). The sap has also been known to damage the paint on cars.[6] Burning the tree may cause ocular injuries if the smoke reaches the eyes.[7] Contact with its milky sap (latex) produces bullous dermatitis, acute keratoconjunctivitis and possibly large corneal epithelial defects.[8]

Burning a whole forest of them would certainly cause enough fumes to kill Xavier (And a lot of New York). The Toxins just means he's going to be blinded and in extreme pain while it happens.

Permanent scars =/= death.
Victory under SBA can be done through incapicitation, BFR, mindhax, and other non lethal means. It will scar his skin too much for him to even move his wheelchair out of the forest.
