  • I have many responsibilities on this site, and this means I only wear each hat for as long as is necessary. Therefore, you may leave CRT/calc eval/whatever requests, and I will try to get to it, but understand that my time is limited and I'm normally already tapped for some wiki policy matter or maintaining the wiki management threads or handling account issues for users who never seem to get things right. Low priority requests include tiershit, particularly active verses, and discussions with a lot of active staff voices already present. I'm not saying "no" but I probably won't get to them. If I don't reply, smart money says it won't be me to get to it. Sorry.
Hello, I need perms to write in this staff discussion. Kamen Rider isn't as popular as it initially was, and I want to suggest its removal from the popular list due to recent circumstances.
Hello Bambu, it may be a dumb question, but regarding that thread, I have a question.

Is the verse popularity is based on the popularity "outside the wiki" or the one it has "inside" the wiki?

While obviously, one answer could be to just say that most of the time, they overlap with one another, I feel like a few anomalies could exist. For example, JTTW is obviously one of the most known piece of literature in the world, yet there are "little" activity (non-zero) regarding it on the wiki, does that mean it would warrant three staff instead of two?

Inside the wiki. I talked about this before but we'd in no way offer this sort of thing to something like Disney's various properties or something like Game of Thrones even though those two definitely mog a property even so large as Dragon Ball, it just doesn't make sense to police them with so little presence in powerscaling. The rules as they are only apply to verses with extreme activity within our hobby.

Another point, just to be sure. You're saying "inside the wiki" and "extreme activity within our hobby", but does that mean "popular verse within the PWS sphere"?

Like, for example Instant Death or World of Darkness are two verses that, sadly, get a lot of attentions from powerscalers (and beside maybe ID with me/some other people, both doesn't have "much" activity on the wiki), what would be a correct way to treat them? (I know it's what staff members are discussing, but I'm moreso asking your opinion on it)

I'd have them fall under the rule, notoriety is a factor we ought to consider.
    Hi Bambu👋

Could you give your input here please?
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
I'm probably not going to speak on this, but that is because I do not consider myself competent enough to prod at a new equation proposal and accurately determine if it ought or ought not be used. I'll leave this to people like DontTalk or Ugarik.
Hello sir ,sorry for disturbing but would you take a look at this please
Hello, would you be willing to evaluate this?

Heyo, just thought you might be interested in checking out this calc. It pretty heavily influences scaling for mid-late game Elden Ring, although it requires some interpretation I'd appreciate your input on.

Actually, looking at the wording behind the statements now, is it possible that the sealing itself didn't involve the destruction/sinking of the city? Like, is it possible to assume that the sealing is its own event, but that the sealing wasn't sinking the cities themselves but rather some other act that enclosed them in the earth? By that I mean, the destruction would be the actual attack, destroying the ground bellow them, while the sealing was covering them up.

Like I said, there is kind of a shitload of evidence. We have a bunch of other calcs that I literally just interpretations and they are allowed to stay as "likely" and "possibly" on character profiles. I don't see why this one couldn't be any different.

Again, I want to make it clear that I don't feel your position is impossible, I just don't think it bridges the gap to being likely enough for a "possibly" rating; it's basically always possible that any character is any tier, we just need to surpass a threshold of reliability and legitimacy to assign such a rating on the page.

To answer the question, yeah, that sounds plausible, but it's among other explanations: perhaps the Eternal Cities were simply teleported to a series of caverns? Perhaps sealing them away simply involved restricting them to the cities, and the Earth swallowed them over the long course of time(as is the case in real life)? My point is not to suggest any of these, but rather to say that nothing strongly confirms any one explanation.

I get what you're saying. I guess I just think think this is a more reliable explanation above any others.

Like with the other examples of possibilities, Astel doesn't seem to have any form of large scale teleportation, only being able to transport himself. I suppose you could argue that the Ainsel River and Siofra River possible existed before they ended up there, but still. In terms of them simply being sealed within the city, there isn't really anything to indicate that either beyond the fact that they're just hard to get to. There are even some Nox based enemies outside of the Eternal Cities, implying that they aren't simply trapped in there (although the statement of the cities being sealed on its own says nothing about the people being sealed).

I wrote all this before kind of realizing your point wasn't to push any of those claims, but my point still stands. I feel as if we know enough about how they were destroyed, who did it, how long it took, etc, to make this a fairly solid piece of scaling.
Would you mind taking a look and commenting if you have the time?

    Can you eval this please?

STAFF LEND ME YOUR POWER AND BESTOW THIS THREAD WITH A VOTE

    Mr. Bambu
Hard to vote on something that doesn't have a proposal. I've moved your thread for now.
Hi, could you evaluate this thread please? 🙏

Also hoping it was a good ride to Ohio.
Hello, I have a technical question. How many staff votes do I need to get Acausality type 5 for non-Tier 0 character with accepted rating in previous crts approved? I currently have 2 admin approvals(including admin knowledgeable on the verse), should I look for third admin or is it fine to apply with 2?
Sorry to bother but could you check this CRT out please? Thanks in advance

Hi, could you evaluate this thread please?

Hi, quick question. If a CRT that's mostly accepted has a part that is agreed upon by a 2:1:1 vote, can that part be applied as well?
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
By 2:1:1, you mean 2 in favor, 1 opposed, 1 neutral? No, not usually, you'd need an extra voice to solve that.

Ok thanks. If possible, could I get your thoughts on this; Its about upscaling a character's speed by 1.2x, who's been holding back their energy output massively, which they use to fly.
Hello, I just want to ask whether it's better to use height or width to find the size of a boulder?

For further context, I did a calculation to find Mavuika's lifting strength. Later on, I noticed that just using the Long-Necked Rhino's shoulder width wasn't right, so
I went back and made it more of a circle shape to find the diameter, which I did here:.
    Long-Necked Rhino shoulder width: 298 px= 6.51875 m

    1 px=0.021875 m

    Boulder Diameter: 1380 px=30.1875 meters

    Boulder Radius= 15.09375

    Boulder Volume=14403.9

Continental crust, stone and earth: 2700 kg/m^3

    14403.9m^3x2700 kg/m^3= 38,890,530 kilograms or 38890.53 Metric Tons (Class M)

When I asked @TheRustyOne to do a reevaluation, he said this:
"What are you doing with the pixel scaling?

    Lumine Height: 78 pixels=156.2 cm=1.56200 meters

    1 pixel= 0.020025641 m

That should be your pixel scaling, why are you doing this?

    Lumine Shoulder Width: 16 px=35-40 cm (we'll use 35)= 0.35 meters

    1 pixel= 0.021875 m

Your calculation is contradicting itself. I don't see any logical reasoning for you to do that. Just use Lumine's height, I don't know why you're doing that.

Use the height of the dinosaur as your boulder diameter. You're overcomplicating the hell out of this. I don't know how I missed this."

I did a recalc using the height, like he said here. If you're curious where I got Lumine's Shoulder width in the original calc, I used this 2024 article.
Hello, would you be willing to evaluate if you think the "possibly mindless" rating is valid?
    Hello!
Mr.Bambu you might remember me from twitter/X.

I do remember, though I don't really want to partake- no offense meant. Dislike Tier 1 stuff.

    Check this old thread pls
    Hi Bambu

Sometime ago i've requested you to evaluate this calc, it has been agreed to discuss the timeframe for the speed feat separately, but i've been waiting a comment of yours regarding the AP feat (You've commented before, but Jason changed the method used)

    Might comment on it?
    Mr. Bambu
    Mr. Bambu
Yeah this time I have the time to get to this. His timeframe is maybe off by a frame or two but it's not serious, I'm willing to call that weirdness with the video player/YouTube's frame counting being slightly different than Vimeo's. I'll comment on the blog.

Thank you for commenting on it

As i've said before, i will try to create a Calc Group Discussion regarding if the timeframes which gives the MFTL to MFTL+ ratings should be considered when i have the time to do so

I will link it for you, if you want to comment on it to share your thoughts

By all means. I am sorry for taking so long to get to it, the calc was a bit more of a headache than most and every time I did catch you replied (it looks like once or twice it just ate the notification), I didn't have the heart to tackle it. Thank you for persisting.

Been awhile, but really I dunno what other interpretation you'd take. You are a sentient mass freed from your old body by being dunked in a vat of some kind, that now possesses bodies, and uses new cells for progression. I don't think they talk about it explicitly but from what's shown it seems hard to deny. Support any and all moves to update the verse, be they of the down or up grade variety.
Heya, once again I come with a weird ass and situational question.

My native language is French, and I'm rather fluent in English, does that mean that if I want to index a non-translated french fiction on the wiki, I can just translate the important/relevant part myself without submitting it to translation helpers or would I, despite everything, need to get it approved by them?
