Jujutsu Kaisen Discussion Page #1

the otsutsuki isn't really the problem in boruto's case. people actually enjoy that content for lore and powerscaling purposes. since it leaves off from what Naruto started. people don't like boruto because the quality of writing is tragically low
I don't like the Otsutsukis at all. But yes, the writing is also just garbage, and Kishimoto didn't do too great of a job unfucking it

What was that talk about the divine flames being EE? It's just STRONG FIRE lmao
Eldemade was yapping on some Sukuna meat. Das all.
No, the term is "virtual mass" (仮想の質量 kasō no shitsuryo), which mirrors the real world physics concept (仮想質量 kasō shitsuryo).
No it can also be imaginary mass. I've went over this before with another translator.
According to him, (A Japanese translator) by definition wise, it is more accurate to say imaginary mass rather than "virtual mass", especially with him agreeing with what I said.

About this. In the raws specifically this part: 仮想の質量を apparently translates to Virtual mass (Using Jisho dictionary) yes? However according to some Japanese dictionary, the first part 仮想 would be https://jisho.org/search/仮想
imaginary

Furthermore, I've also gotten him to translate this specific part: >>> [LITERAL]

A hypothetical mass created by the colliding Unlimited, of forward and reverse motion:

HOLLOW STYLE: PURPLE (MURASAKI)
[LITERARY]

An imaginary mass created by merging the Limitless of forward and reverse motion into one:

HOLLOW ART: LILAC
To be more precise: the word for the color purple, "murasaki" (紫), is a homophone of 茈, which is the name of a flower whose roots are used for purple dye.

It is in no way Virtual Mass, as it can be interpreted as Imaginary Mass. Yuki though? Sure you can interpret it as virtual mass for her if you want. Because the way she uses her technique, applying it to herself and all that, is explicitly different than what Hollow Purple does.

Additionally there's a glaring issue you ignored - "Imaginary Expression - Purple" Is one of the translations for when Gojo says his technique out loud to fire it off. This is contradictory with your claim that it is virtual mass.
In layman's terms (I gotcha), when an object travels through a fluid (e.g., air), its apparent mass is increased proportionally to the mass of the fluid being displaced by its direction of motion/force; the concept is briefly invoked by Yuki and by Kenjaku; her literal mass is constant, but virtual mass makes her feel heavier.

Say, I run three pound marble through a stream of water.
Its literal mass is constant, but the force being imposed by its motion and the displacement of the water itself is contributing to an "additional" mass.
You just further explained to me how Yuki's whole shtick is different, thus the argument to apply this to Gojo's HP is further nonsense.

It is, by all means, an "invisible ki blast", with the Infinities of Red and Blue imposing a force onto the surrounding fluid that, in turn, generates a virtual mass.
Literally contradictory with what Red and Blue does so nice try. Blue creates negative numbers. Red creates positive value. All of which are hax based but suddenly you think it is just invincible KI blast, which is utterly ridiculous and inconsistent.

It makes more sense for attraction and repulsion to create... existence erasure???
Makes more sense than invincible KI blast nonsense.
Without supporting evidence, the word "erase" is functionally useless.
U don't need much supporting evidence for something as simple as this. It is a hax created through two haxes that does "Blue creates negative numbers. Red creates positive value." which all screw around with space. Gojo says "To erase Mahoraga in one hit". Unlike in other instances where he says he will one tap Mahoraga with red, the mention of this specific wording - erase, is nowhere mentioned, but for HP, it is specifically mentioned.

Further supporting evidence, is how Todo also notes that he can't tell if Hanami even was exorcised or not, because traces of CE marks and the like don't exist whatsoever, which isn't normally possible if you don't specifically erase those traces to begin with.

Which is why it even is that clean.

Wow thanks for supporting my argument 😭
It says 一撃で消す which is to blow away or eliminate completely or erase, it implies getting rid of it in a single action, but the context is to erase, since we already know what makes HP special and why it is different from what Red does as described by gojo (Who says it will one shot Mahoraga, several times. But never does he say to erase for red, which debunks your invincible normal blast argument)

u just said nothing as a refutation and only supported my argument whilst also contradicting your own argument with the shaky attempt to say it doesn't say to erase because the primary kanji begins with saying extinguish whilst showing that it does say to erase in the raws. By the way, even the wording extinguish can support my argument because the definition of it in English is:
extinguish

"cause (a fire or light) to cease to burn or shine."
Keyword: Cease, which would be the existence of something.
But that's not so important. You used Jisho to say the full sentence in Jisho's dictionary means virtual mass in an attempt to refute what I said about it saying imaginary mass. To in which I refuted this by shown that the primary kanji and the like starts out with imaginary instead, further supported by it being called as Imaginary expression (which even Lightning says, one of the best reliable translators in JJK community).
Then when it comes to me showing you a TL that says to erase for the chapter 233 scan, you attempted to refute it by saying the primary kanji says something else (extinguish) and so the "to erase" part is irrelevant. This is ironic because you're using two methods that are contradictory with each other.
One is you using full sentence TL, the other is you trying to refute the to erase part with "but primary kanji says extinguish so it is wrong!". Essentially you both disagree and agree with Jisho in short by your own logic.

I also do the same by picking at individual kanjis and the like with Jisho, but I also use the manga in instance, showing gojo saying imaginary expression, showing context to prove how Gojo's HP and Yuki's CT is explicitly different in feats, context and asking a Japanese translator about whether it is imaginary mass or not. Unlike what you do.

dude arkenis like the ending of the war arc and does not think hagaromo coming out of thin air and giving naruto and sasuke god powers was not a deus ex machina plot convinience, there is no convincing this man of his poor taste.
Name good mangas besides JJK. I haven't seen anything ya like besides JJK. Please don't say OP.

aight

berserk (top 5 manga can't go wrong there)
vagabond (same as berserk arguably better)
Vinland saga (not quite top 5 but still top tier stuff)
Jojo (for the most part, parts 4 and 7 are the best written)
Dungeon meshi (recent addition to my manga list still even though its rather short its masterfully written)
helck (great manga not top 10 but still some really solid stuff)
and of course the classic Fist of the north star the grandpappy of all shonen.

Pretty sure town level but I'll go look for it
Ty man
The hole in Toji is smaller than the one in the wall
Which could be simply explained as Toji having somewhat dodged it beforehand, or that the hollow purple turned small first and then quickly expanded to a bigger size upon passing through that mid section of Toji's body. You yourself can already see that the hole is quite clean to phase through Toji like its nothing. It's like how blue becomes big when released (maximum output blue), but can also become small after being stopped or inactivated.

Plus, you would need to forgot a lot of things in the battle against Sukuna to see Purple as EE
No need to forget anything. I could simply just argue that Gege had an art inconsistency on his part which doesn't go against the statements he had established beforehand and after that. Additionally HP itself hit multiple things in process before it even reached Sukuna, and when it did reach Sukuna, the building Sukuna was on, Sukuna and Uraume, were all hit. Sukuna himself directly took that HP on, which means that the HP itself did not succeed in successfully destroying the building because few things were in the way.

No idea as to how people still use this as an anti feat when you have Sukuna directly taking on HP itself, stopping HP from continuing on its travel 🗿 like no shit.
