The japanese hate it too lol they aren't blind
Well I haven't seen the anime, I've just seen the Western reaction. I've only seen a few positive youtube comments on some early s3 animations and a forum comment saying basically: "wow the gaijin are really upset about this season of the anime". I am sure they are upset to some degree. If you've seen some Japanese commentary I'd love to hear about that, for some reason the actual Japanese internet seems really segregated from foreign manga/anime communities

What do you think about the portrayal of God as a Lovecraftian cosmic horror figure in OPM?

I really like that he is never treated as the main plot in the story and is kept mysterious, But I can't figure out where it will connect to.

The concept of divinity is a really tricky one, there's quite a few good ways to tackle it, but they can be genre-specific.

A lovecraftian cosmos really fits for OPM, since the premise of the series is a dark and serious super-hero world which is rendered comedic by the protagonist having end-of-series level strength.

Now, I don't think "God" is actually Deus, the sole creator of existence. He's likely some lesser cosmic entity and I suspect that there are at least two or more divine entities, based on the references to the Celestial Rock Cave. The deep lore in OPM will be insane and the Organization Arc just scratching the surface. I'm excited to see where the whole God arc and cosmology goes. I think the Empty-Void pre-retcon vision gave us some serious insight there.

Fuse all consciousness into a thought body, so that no fight or conflict would exist. Everyone will understand each other etc.

So maybe God isn't necessarily evil? Though Bang sensed him as one and his actions seem to have more purpose than this.

Yes, they tried to show these cosmic events in the manga for a while, but then they seem to have given up and decided to take their time. I think this was a very good strategy because ONE could handle this story wonderfully in the web comic, and I'm sure he have some great ideas.

This reminds me of the new series called Pluribus. Are these in the manga?

My fav Genos upgrade so far

You really can't go wrong with Genos upgrades. Off the top of my head, there hasn't been a single edition of the character that I haven't found aesthetically pleasing- there's just levels to it. I agree that the "Daedric Genos" (I still prefer this over Blue Dragon, noncanon as it is) is the best yet. However, look out for his Organization Arc upgrade in the manga. That design concept has insane potential.

Well, I would call this mission "rational evil", as opposed to unreasoning (evil with no plan/purpose) or sadistic evil (simply taking joy in the suffering of others).

Yes, there is a logical end-goal that sounds like it might even have some advantages over what the OPM world currently has going on.

However, in order to achieve that state you have to force countless people against their consent into an arrangement they may or may not like, a process that probably requires lots of death in the run-up. Proceeding without consent towards utopia is an evil thing. Killing people who stand in the way of that plan is also an evil thing, and Homeless Emperor, Psykos and Vaccine Man have all shown themselves to be super happy to go through a little genocide in order to get whatever good ending "God" promised them.

So yeah, God is clearly evil even if his ultimate vision is actually super nice, because he's knowingly set multiple characters up to cause mass death in pursuit of whatever that vision is.

Final upgrade will be really hard to come up with. Gotta make sure Genos has his most iconic look yet since it might be the last one in theory.

Wonder how ONE and Murata genuinely feel about this season and how it's been received.
ONE is probably upset and disappointed, Murata is probably even more upset and disappointed, especially at his artwork getting butchered in an adaptation that is meant to bring it to life with movement, music, and voices.

I don't think so.

Genos after all this is over may get upgrades from Bofoi now. Maybe a new bio suit from the dead body of Boros

Nevermind ByAsura retired so just edit the copy as a precaution in case his stuff gets deleted.

We are probably going to have to revise the scaling a little, Fubuki in the webcomic caused the HA earthquake and that's a pretty good feat to upscale some characters from.

(SUPER LOW BALL) 1.8 gigatons, Large Mountain Level / High 7-A.

This is a very very low end calculation.

To get the 1.8 gigaton result the following assumptions were made:
  • a medium sized Japanese oak (10 meters) for a reference for the size of the mountain/hill it crushed
  • a 60 second timeframe
  • 2,000 km travel distance from middle satellite orbit to sea level
  • 50% hollowness.
(REALISTICALLY) Island level / 6-C at a minimum, Country level / 6-B at a maximum.

  • If you highball the hill and say it's a mountain but change no other numbers, it becomes 436 gigatons (island level).
  • If you highball the distance to space (you need to be 17,000 km away to see the full circumference of the earth at the equator), it becomes island level as well.
  • If you lower the time frame to 30 seconds, island level again.
  • Just counting it as 100% solid makes it Large Mountain+.

If you highball all four of these... the results will be more or less

837,128,990.3 x 7,850 = 3.28 x 10^12 kilograms x 566,666^2 meters per second x 0.5 KE reduction =

(SUPER HIGH BALL) 252 teratons, Large Country level / High 6-B.
Responding to the guy who asked about Webcomic calculations. Here was a rough sketch of what a Super Brave Giant calc could yield. The Metal Series will scale to it, and Genos will upscale from it.

There is no official calc of this or any other recent webcomic feats iirc.

Another day, another dog water epsiode. We might actually get to Saitama vs Orochi just from the amount of cut content.

I found it strange that Murata was tweeting so passionately about the new episode on Twitter today. I don't think he was under any pressure. It's clear that despite all the injustice, filth, and poor adaptation of his own art into anime, he stands behind the studio and the animators and displays an extremely understanding attitude.

shouldn't the robots from the Metal Knight series and the Metal Bishops who destroy the Neo Heroes who damaged the abnormal Super Brave Giant also be adapted to it?

It's legit the type of animation you'd see in a low budget kid's show whose only purpose is increasing toy sale
