Suggestions for improvements (New forum)

If Character A is trying to win through overwhelming speed, they may need to move their fists 0.6 meters in order to attack. But in that time, Character B, trying to prevent such a victory, would only need to move their hands 0.3 meters to block. So they could still block perfectly despite being half the speed.

It gets way more complicated when we include characters of different physiologies, characters that have thought-based abilities, characters with different speed ratings for different actions they can take, etc. A character with a sufficiently fast long-ranged weapon might speedblitz from range, but get speedblitzed in CQC. We cannot just put it down to a multiplier.

idc either way about having a page explaining it. I don't think these ideas are particularly hard for people to reason out, particularly controversial, or particularly important. So I don't think a page is very necessary.
If we have cases of a character capable of moving so fast that it sees other characters as frozen, is there an at least multiplier value? Or just stays being unquantifiable

I don't remember, but I'm sure we've handled that before when doing calculations.

Outside of that, we don't have a multiplier for that sort of thing, as it ends up being calc stacking.

Not sure to say about reaction blitz but to blitz someone's perception, you need at least 13x value (if you use other vs sites)

Hm what about list an official speed multiplier so that way we can compare each other character's speed if there's a match ongoing with unequalized speed? Like character A is mach 10 while the other is mach 30

Seems like we can only compare speeds by tiers only according to the staff. Prob too lazy to list an official perception blitz multiplier

You compare them by the values.

We can't list official multipliers since it depends on the distance away, and the visibility.

If someone is 13x faster, do you think it's enough to blitz their perception/seeing them as frozen? Cause that's the general multiplier.

They wouldn't be seen as frozen. We don't see things moving at 0.5 m/s as frozen.

Whether they blitz perception or not depends on how far away the character would be able to detect them at. If the character can detect their opponent from 500 meters away, and takes 1s to react, they could still react to something moving at 250 m/s, despite having below average human perception speed.

There is no functional general multiplier for this.

No, that's not what happened.

And at this point, the discussion has gotten off topic. Please discuss it somewhere else.

can also go to the top right of the screen and click the envople icon and direct message from there.

send direct message
under recpipents type a HR members name (I wont go gather this info for you)
type your title
type your message
send your message
wait
edit: didnt know > did that.

OK since this is the thread where you can suggest changes, can remove the 500 message requirement to direct messagee here?

How practical would it be potentially to make a 'Wanted Calcs' section on actual verse pages as a way to advertise activity to a more general audience and state directly what still needs to be calculated (So that there is less guesswork and baseline stats)?

Just a small list with linked scans to feats that can potentially be calced? (And looked over by a knowledgable mod on whether it is practical to calc) It could potentially ramp up activity on that end and even invite newer members to start calcing?

Personally I think it would be good, if I saw this section in a verse I like I would calculate the feats.

TBH something like that would be better as a top template, like what other wikies do when there's blatant content to improve on a page (most commonly stubs).

When we want to report a message, the report button takes us directly to the raport thread, but it takes us to where we last left off and we have to write the complaint there from scratch.

I think that when we click the Report button, a small pop-up window should appear on the screen. This window should display the message we want to report, and below it, there should be a text area where we can write a description or explanation of the issue.

After writing our explanation, we should be able to click a "Submit Report" button. Once it's submitted:
  • The reported message should be quoted automatically.
  • A link to the original thread and message should be included.
  • Our explanation should be attached to the report.
  • It would be helpful if the system automatically redirects this raport to the related raport thread after submission.

That seems unrealistically specific to program a new feature for. Can't you just copy-paste the URL's and relevant contents for the posts that you wish to report instead? 🙏

I think we should be able to delete our forum accounts.
TBH this is just inviting discussion disruption (as then a ton of replies would go for a nonexistent account), let alone contributions being removed in the process if the user removed is the OP of a given relevant CRT and the like, this enabling ban evasion also does no favors. The most I've seen in Xenforo forums, and something that may be appropiate here as a forum for a wiki, is to anonymize an account in request, aka, scramble the password and reset the information in the profile pertaining the user, yet retain all posts and a unique ID, which can be used internally for tracking/ban purposes.

You have to request it by sending a private message to myself. XenForo does not seem to work in the requested manner. 🙏

It is possible for me to delete forum accounts, but not to remove the forum posts of a member in conjunction.

Ban evasion would be a potential problem, yes. 🙏

We need an exit confirmation when doing posts/sandboxes/comnments. It isn't the first time that I just click to the notification icon (Or any other button by accident) and it just instantly redirected to sites like https://vsbattles.com/account/alerts to lost all my progress. In fact it just happened to me in a Sandbox from 1 hour making, and it happens to another friends a lot.

Example:

The wikia actually do this when trying to close an unsaved edit
