Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

A slight OCR error happened. So what? It was quickly rectified. I have had similar things happen to me, however I’ve been able to catch them.

You’ve had staff tell you that it is not that a big of a deal, yet you keep pushing. You’re being an annoyance.

If you have to resort to poorly planned RVR attempts to prevent downgrades of the verse you like, just don’t bother.

Brother it was a mistake mod or not the man is human, if you want a more accurate translation you don't blow up and cause a scene here, you go make a request with the scan to the translation request thread. They've already apologized for the mistake and changed it long ago please stop throwing accusations
 
The report has been evaluated. The amount of evaluation has been extremely high, in fact, for such a report. Every evaluation of the report has found it to be accurate but not reportable given that the evidence in question was just corrected in reaction. There is no ambiguity in that the translation was incorrect and that in the future these translations should be handled better- but none of the staff feel this is even a minor infraction, it could easily have occurred by mistake and seems to have been in this case.

Unless you are a staff member who has not yet spoken on this case who wants to share their thoughts, move along. I urge other staff members who have spoken to do the same and consider this report concluded. Thanks.

Left him a warning and reverted it.
 
This user created these two pages, I told him to move them to blog posts and he did so... they aren't necessary explanation pages or ones we allow on the rules so they can prolly be deleted

I think my previous message already answers this question... Since they've been moved to blog posts there's no need for them to remain as pages, and as pages they don't really follow our rules so... what else could be done besides deleting them?

I would like to report @Jason_Voorhees1986 for what I consider clear vote manipulation.

Thread in Question: Why is this vote manipulation?

He also questioned @Qawsedf234 's ability to properly judge a sandbox because he disagreed with him.


To make things even better, when someone "agrees", he instantly adds them to the voting tally, but when they disagree with them, he tries to spin their agreement, or make up an excuse to not add them to the disagreement section.

To make things worse, he was already told to add him to the disagreement section at least 3 times, and with what I consider an informal warning.
 
I initially blocked him for a month. If he continues to not listen to warnings, we will unfortunately likely have to make it permanent the next time. 🙏

A warning should suffice, considering it's his first violation. He also just seemed clueless and also misinterpret Qawsedf's stance. I will tag him and hear out what he have to say first tho @Jason_Voorhees1986

To be honest, I have to admit that I'm not entirely familiar with this wiki's rules. I just thought it would be a good idea to place Qawsedf in a special category called "somewhat agree" since he participated in a significant portion of the content revision, particularly regarding the High 1-A tier. Additionally, I wanted to clarify which tier scaling he found reasonable so that others seeing his approval would understand that he agreed with at least part of the content revision but wasn't convinced about the High 1-A+ aspect. However, after the tension that occurred yesterday, I completely removed it.

Well then, if there wasn't any malicious intent, I don't think any action needs to be taken for mere cluelessness, considering it's your first violation too. So next time, just make sure to count an agreement or disagreement only if it is clearly stated, rather than basing it on an unclear interpretation.

I want it to be seen openly.

After having a long and much-needed conversation with @Arc7Kuroi , I’ve come to realize that I should have spoken to him first before making any report. Instead, I reported in anger and I didn’t give him the chance to share his side of the story, yet he still responded with maturity and kindness by reaching out to me.

Based on our discussion, it’s clear to me now that I was in the wrong. The mistranslation was indeed an honest error, and in reacting the way I did, I ended up slandering him. Had the moderators agreed with my initial report, an innocent person could’ve been wrongly judged.

I want to publicly apologize to @Arc7Kuroi for the false accusation and also to @KingTempest regarding the mistranslation. To everyone who saw the situation unfold, I apologize for how I handled it.
I fully accept any official punishment the wiki deems appropriate. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
 
This report is regarding @Astral_Trinity439, who is already banned for violating a kind of translation ban due to being an unreliable translator and using MTL.

He translate this "虚無に力が満ちている" as "The void is fully embraced with Power" for lead people to think "the power" encompassing the void

Even if you translate that with MTL that will say
"The void is full of power" google translate
"The emptiness is filled with power" deepL
Our tl helper literally saying the same
"Nihility/Nothingness is brimming with power."

Soo the context mean the power being full inside the nothingness but astral leads people to think the power or he say as the holy spirit encompassing even the nothingness

So what i think here this is just not about MTL, but a dishonest and misslead translation

Also the fact that he invalidated the reliable fan translation just so he could use his own MTL based translations for the upgrades:
Note that in this CRT, I will only be using scans from the Japanese RAW, and translated by DeepL. The reason should be fairly obvious, but for those new to this, its because the Unofficial Translation has betrayed us in its reliability with how it translated an important part of the novel wrongly, along with many other Mistranslations that were left unnoticed and will be brought by me in the Future.

I view this situation not as a mere mistranslation issue that his translations had (for which he is banned), but rather as dishonest manipulation of the translations to fit a particular agenda. So I think we need to look at this situation seriously and further action needs to be taken.

Honestly many such cases, it's honestly why we should hold off on verses that need translating, because people are inherently biased (naturally, because we all want to see our favs succeed, including myself) and with only their word to go on what it says, it's ripe for manipulation and misinformation.

We saw it happen for a long time with Shinza Bansho until someone came in to set the record straight, and it seems that people keep trying to do it and can't set their feelings aside.

He doesn’t seem to be stonewalling, just responding to @Ednaxel2 counter-arguments, just as Ednaxel is replying to his, creating a back-and-forth situation. I’d suggest that both of them write a single post summarizing their arguments, agree to disagree, and let the staff decide.

I would also like to add translation of a RAW scan by Astral that he did here in this thread, I scrolled through only qawsed final judgement randomly and first thing I got is misleading mistranslation by Astral.

RAW scan:
その時間軸で何が起きたのか、正確にはわかっていない。

シエルさんが跳ばされた時点で、全ての物事は終わっていたからだ。

Context is that Qawsedf asked for evidence that entire timeline was destroyed so he sent that scan which was "his edited MTL". His scan clearly implies that something had happened to the entire timelime as in his translation he translated "時間軸で" as "to the timeline" while any quick MTL translates it as "in the timeline" and also one of our consistent and reliable TL thread member had translated it as "in that timeline". That's makes it clear that his Mistranslations is derived from dishonesty and greed for his upgrades. You can't really add up "to" there as result of mistranslation when infact any random MTL just translates it to straight up "in that timeline". I even asked Chatgpt and even Chatgpt caught up this issue and explained it well.

Just going to clarify that something did indeed happen to that timeline.as the universe itself was destroyed. What happened IN that timeline was just an attack powerful enough to destroy it.

Astral translation genuinely doesn’t help. As what happened TO the timeline is indeed known, it was destroyed. Ciel just doesn’t know HOW it was destroyed. Context of the feat did not change. I agree it was mistranslated tho
