Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

Alright. With that I think we can do this, I've banned him for a month and reply banned him from the Dragon Ball General Discussion thread permanently. Barring an appeal in the future, the matter is now closed.
 
Reporting @Dishano again. This scaler keeps opening new CRTs to ""rebunk"" debunks to the verse, without adding anything new to them. In my last report, it was decided that he would get an informal warning, but he didn't learn anything it seems. Since he just opened another thread, this would make his 4th open thread at the same time. Even though an overwhelming majority disagrees, even all the admins that come to his thread, he still refuses to acknowledge he is wrong and to close the thread. To make matters worse, he still didn't bother taking his time to learn how scaling tiers and abilities worked on this site, nor the rules.

His constant "upgrades" are nothing but repeated arguments that have been debunked and repeated regularly with no new information. This makes the CRTs nothing but a burden to be forced to repeatedly debunk...

To summarize - He is constantly ignoring arguments like before and repeating the same arguments as before, and it seems the informal warning did nothing, meaning he didn't change his behavior, proven by he has yet to close a single one of his 3 already open CRTs before opening a 4th one...

At this point, I think it's necessary to have a formal warning or a thread ban.

A formal warning and a thread ban from this verse seems reasonable to me, but I am not sure for how long. 🙏

Closing the thread is a good start, but iirc, he has had a not so good track record. But I'd prefer to see his warning tracker; he hasn't been banned before, but his actions he kept up despite multiple warnings of inappropriate behavior is indeed not a good look.

I'm not sure who this is, but i usually accept pretty much any friend request sent to me, and they started harassing me in my messages.

Is any user familiar on who this might be, if this isn't just a convenient throwaway account?

I don't think it is strictly a rule violation to not agree that you are wrong, even in the case of it being an overwhelming majority. This implies a sort of authoritarianism I don't enjoy the implications of. It is the right of every user to maintain a set of beliefs regarding powerscaling, so long as those beliefs are not disruptive to the wiki or her processes.

With that said, it is a rule violation to stonewall unreasonably, and spamming the same threads repeatedly can be one in the right contexts. Looking through his postings, it does not seem as though he has really done the latter, as most of his threads are concerning different upgrades (always upgrades) he wishes to put through, such as regeneration, speed, and a Low 1-A tier upgrade. It is also a fact that each verse has a limited number of CRTs that it may have open, and that opening a great deal of pointless and baseless upgrades may needlessly impede progress on more thought-out efforts- not a rule violation, but a consideration I take into account with my next words.

I'd like to think this is an issue that can be remedied via learning the conventions of the site rather than brute force, and so I am opposed to an outright ban. Instead, I encourage the user to familiarize himself with how the wiki works, in particular higher tiering policies as that seems to be the area of interest (woe is him). For now, I would agree with a topic ban on Instant Death, perhaps to the order of three months, which can be re-evaluated later to see if he has adequately brought himself up to speed. It is tempting to include a particular caveat in this topic ban that states that this does not extend beyond CRTs, and possibly even that commenting on CRTs is fine- only the creation of them is considered to be in error. I would like to hear from others on the specifics.

If I may interject since I'm one of the main people who has done major CRTs and changes on the verse, I agree that even if a topic ban were to happen, it would be disingenuous to not let him comment on threads, especially the ones that he would obviously disagree with. That would be like killing the only opposition, clearly not a move I'd consider as fair.

What we (people doing work on ID right now) don't want, is annoying stonewalling or blatant lies and misinterpretations. Some may exist purely as different point of view or different readings, but when you get surreal interpretations coming again and again, it becomes tiresome. Also, yeah, he should definitely learn a bit more how the tiering works, but that will come with time like everyone else.
 
I agree with SweetDao, but there's still a thing that I did not get up to this point in which it's about the fact that Dishano isn't even trying to reach out to the supporters and asking their opinion about it before making CRTs. And keep in mind that most of them were rejected, I don't know myself honestly if there's like a discussion thread for it or if there's a discord server to talk about it. Again, things like these probably wouldn't happen if he atleast tried to reach out to us before making any CRTs. This always disturb me tbh.

A thread ban on the verse itself wouldn't be necessary, but personally what I would do is limiting him from making any CRTs about the verse for a short period of time. At the least.

He posted¹ three² threads³

One of them (Immeasurable Speed one) was a repeat of a recent (at the time of posting) downgrade. That being said, it contained different justifications, even if people disagreed and ultimately the thread got rejected by two staff (who forgot to close it). Of the justification that was shared with another immeasurable downgrade, this information was well beyond the minimum requirement for rejected info (3 months) to be brought again.

All of his other attempts were beyond the minimum 3 months requirement for rejected stuff to be brought again, so it's not like he violated that rule.

This is actually false. First, because he actually has only made 3 threads. Second, while there is another active thread close to the time of his high-godly, immeasurable and Low 1-A attempts, the immeasurable one was already rejected by the time he posted the Low 1-A one. So he was actually completely in the clear there, unless I've missed another active thread (which would've been made by a different user anyways).

So I'd disagree he's spamming(his threads are even several days apart from each other, even) or reposting rejected threads. I disagree with a topic ban based on the things brought up in the report.
 
Yeah I don't think you were acting great but Hellformer's statements certainly appear to be intended towards schoolyard agitation. I'll try to keep an eye on the thread, but for now: @Hellformer consider this an informal warning to knock off the "be a man, coward, debate me about a children's cartoon bro" bullshit.

I did not use the word coward but the point was him trying to make fun my claim without actually debating me on that. However I'll better ignore him because he himself admitted being a troll.

It's inappropriate, childish behavior, and trying to skirt around the fact that you said it by arguing semantics does not make me hopeful for an improvement in said behavior.

@Mr. Bambu If me asking him to debate is not good behaviour from your perspective, then shouldn't you take some action against him saying this as well?

This is obviously not what is actually at issue. It is the rudeness, not the action of requesting engagement, that is the problem. Rudeness is in fact against the very first rule you should read on our site. I deem your actions to be at a greater severity of rudeness than usual, and so I have (I note again) informally (for now) warned you to stop it- continuing to be mean for the sake of it won't help you, is the point.
