God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

Man, this DLC is simply better than God Of War 2018 and the entire God Of War Ragnarok, I really wanted something like this in the game, only the Greek saga gave me such happiness

Damn, so not only did Kratos retain a tiny bit of Hope inside of himself, he used it to save the 9 Realms. Tyr pretty much confirms Hope, Fear and Love to exist everywhere, not just in Greece.

Also, Kratos has the Legacy Rage Path as an actual path he can use outside of Valhalla. To think he'd use the BoO in Norse lands, unprecedented.

In the "Lineage and Legacy" part. If it was really a mere construct they would've said it already.

Plus, Tyr mentions that Kratos is displaying Olympian power whenever he wields the Blade of Olympus.
While I want to believe that the blade of olympus is back it still feels like there's some valhalla shenanigans around, considering a line plays (But I'm unsure that is in general or not towards the shield or rage respectively.

Yeah of course they're talking about how bad old Kratos was, the old games even made it clear that for the most part he was a shit head so blinded by vengeance that he committed horrific acts and now he's a better person because he's not gonna take some random prisoner and use them to cog up a wheel with no remorse (GOW 3 princess moment).

And even then the DLC makes it clear that old Kratos wasn't even completely bad, they make a point to show how Kratos accepting Ares in the heat of the moment wasn't that bad since he didn't know what was going to happen after that and he did it to save his homeland, they bring up how Kratos saving the sun in Chains of Olympus was a genuinely good act that proves he wasn't just an murdering asshole the whole time in the old games, and the ending straight up has Kratos say that his old self was always more complicated than people see on the surface. Dunno where this dude is getting the idea that the whole thing is just a jerk off session about how much old kratos sucks and how much better the writing for him now is.

Yeah it seems like somehow Vahalla just managed to physically manifest the actual blade from his memories, which hey pretty decent buff for Norse Kratos even if atm he ain't got nobody in the realms that he needs to use it against.

and i think we just need info that dream are real like reality in GoW.
Visions After Rest poem by Kvasir does just that. However, we don't consider it canon because it references the PS exclusive "Dreams", although Kvasir lives in the Norse pantheon of GoW only so the description should apply to its realms.

Also, didn't Ymir conjure Ironwood by dreaming? We also had Morpheus' realm in the Greek pantheon where it was stated that dreams and reality converge there. So dreams apparently do create matter in GoW, although that may be just possible for the deities based on the current information we have.

No, Valhalla makes things that remain in one's mind take on a real form, without which Sigrun would not have been truly injured.

So, said "it's not real, it's just a moment in Kratos's head" would be a really bad argument.
Either way, still unusable for cosmology in any way, shape or form. First order of business is to find who blew the damn horn.

I swear this people are either 1. want kratos to be some type of postal dude or 2. Can't project themselves on to him.

It's just a range support, that's it.
In fact, this is another proof that hope transcends all pantheons, even a very small part of it can affect the whole pantheon. 🌚

Brother, you'll never learn that...

Joking aside, what we have here is good. Honestly, after a lost UCL match, Mimir's statements were feel good.
