Kratos attempts to slay a horned serpent

He fights gods who just by being angry and screaming is shaking an infinite universe. How big is the universe the serpent destroyed again?
Also thor and jormungandr splintered the entire yggdrasil which contains 9 infinite sized structures (branches) and shook 9 realms (universes) just by fighting.
my good man in this fight the low 2-C ratings are being used the size of the universes doesn't matter for squat as both characters are destroying space time that is already infinite universe level shit and then some, what matters though is the scaling chain and kratos is in ******* Narnia with that thing cuse we go from lower level primordial being around base low 2-C to Uranus scaling beyond them to than Cronos being stronger than Uranus and than we have guys like Poseidon being as strong if not stronger than Cronos as he and hades where able to lay him flat on his ass twice in a row as well as being able to beat atlas who is stronger than Cronos and hades taking his soul and power on top of his own and than Kratos ripped Poseidon apart and got smacked down by Zeus than got stronger and was equal to Zeus and gow 4 and ragnarok kratos are stronger than the no power of hope kratos due to gods in GoW getting stronger the older they get
so the low 2-C scaling chain for kratos is something like this

primordial's<Uranus<Cronos<atlas<=Hades<<Hades after taking atlas's soul<Poseidon(said to be second only to Zeus)<<<start of GoW3 kratos<Zeus<end of GoW3 kratos<GoW4 kratos<ragnarok Kratos<=Fear zeus(did one shot end of GoW3 kratos)<<<<<power of hope kratos

so yeah if we are using anything past GoW2 there is enough upscaling in god of war to actually say that kratos could one shot especially if we are using power of hope kratos the blue berry juice of hope smacked 7 days from sunday

I'm still inclined to say incon due to fictionalization

LMFAO you got the final part wrong, Norse Kratos is not stronger than GOW3 Endgame Pre-Hope Kratos. Every single Sony Blog about this topic and Eric Williams himself says he was far too out of commission in 2018, and he doesn't have any of the Titan Power Ups, or Hades Soul + Atlas's Soul + millions of other souls amping him anymore. Only his physical strength when going all out is equal to his GOW3 Endgame Pre-Hope self as implied by the blogs and Eric Williams and his whole "Thor's blows were as heavy as any I ever felt" statement he made while holding back massively, but as an overall package, GOW3 Kratos would floor him with better AD and RE than him.

I'm talking pure AP here man gods do get stronger as they age in GoW and we known that current kratos should be somewhat more physically powerful than he was back 150+ years ago doesn't mean he would win against his younger self mainly cuse that level of versatility he had back than is insane
also don't think he lost the souls all things considered since we do not have any statements or even implications of that being the case since the closest we got was him saying he tried to use the greek magic but couldn't recall it as his land is now dead and so is the magic from it but the soul of hades didn't provide any magic of any kind all it did was make kratos a god again which he is still very much so come GoW:north and ragnarok(as only a god could blow the galhorn and that is what kratos did) so the soul is still there it seems, as for the titan power ups, i mean like yeah we lost them at the start of GoW3 so don't see the point of brining them up

also the statement of "thor's blows were as heavy as any I ever felt" wouldn't change even if kratos was holding back its his preceptive and I do not believe he is suffering memory loss.

Based on the assumption the horned serpent would do what Richard Nixon would do.
I mean the whole fictionalization thing is achieved through reality warping on a universal scale kratos has gone up against people who can alter reality in his earlier weaker years and has resistance to reality warping on that scale so don't see why he couldn't resist here as well

I vote kratos; far superiors ap bordering on a one shot, ability to resist most of the serpents hax, many potent hax of his own and superior skill by about a country mile

kratos wins 8/10(that type 8 size and higher dimensional existence do give the serpent at least some win cons)

Kratos has been trying to suppress his strength, not trying to increase it. This changes in 2018 where multiple official sources state he is now clawing his way back to his true hidden strength in order to better his son for the harsh Norse world. Besides, in God of War, Kratos only grows stronger if he engages in combat more, otherwise he'll get too rusty and lose sense of that strength and would have to give in more and more to his inner rage to gain it back, which is something he sorely regrets and doesn't want to do.

also don't think he lost the souls all things considered since we do not have any statements or even implications of that being the case
since the closest we got was him saying he tried to use the greek magic but couldn't recall it as his land is now dead and so is the magic from it but the soul of hades didn't provide any magic of any kind all it did was make kratos a god again
Bruno Velazquez confirmed he lost the souls for good when Fear Zeus smacked him and destroyed the Claws. Kratos needed the Claws to control that volatile torrent of souls now inside of him, including that of Hades who also absorbed Atlas's soul into him. Without them, he forever lost them. Most of his magic was lost when Fear Zeus clapped him, all of which Kratos regained again with PoH, which he then lost again when he channeled Hope through the Blade of Olympus and then stabbed himself with it and sacrificed himself to save mankind and give them a fighting chance to live in Greece without the Gods.

which he is still very much so come GoW:north and ragnarok(as only a god could blow the galhorn and that is what kratos did) so the soul is still there it seems, as for the titan power ups, i mean like yeah we lost them at the start of GoW3 so don't see the point of brining them up
The only thing he retains from his Greek days are his insane strength he had prior to obtaining Hope, his AD and RE, his base innate Demigod powers and all his Resistances from his previous forms minus the Power of Hope. Most of his Demigod stuff he retained even after being depowered in Elysium and losing even his ashes and red tattoo and all his magic, being rendered completely human.

also the statement of "thor's blows were as heavy as any I ever felt" wouldn't change even if kratos was holding back its his preceptive and I do not believe he is suffering memory loss.
Kinda a moot point since that entire fight is completely unusable as neither side were fighting at full power. When Kratos finally became properly serious for once and Thor finally went all out in the final rematch, the results were quite obvious. They were definitely comparable for reals this time, but Kratos still held the edge and ultimately won.

it was more so about trying to keep his rage under control so he doesn't go berserk again the rage is tied to his strength but not fully

ok didn't know that one but still seems contradictory to what we know in god of war 2018 as kratos is still considered a full fledged god and that was acheived in gow 3 through claiming the soul of hades but i'll concede this point any way since the franchise has quite a few plot holes

not really because if he was just left with his demi-god powers we'd have to put him back to 7-B as of GoW 2018 as for the hax yeah he doesn't have the magic of the greeks
also cory himself(via twitter) confirmed that current old man kratos is stronger than he was back in the day so word of god at least says that he should be stronger than back then

well its kratos him winning against thor while also saying that the blows of thor are the heaviest he has ever felt cans stand all it would mean is that kratos is stronger than everyone he ever fought before which is true

so as far as we know the word of god statements, the prior knowledge that we know that kratos is still a god and gods grow in power with age. leads me to believe that current kratos is stronger than his younger self not by a huge amount but still considerably enough for me to put him over young kratos in terms of pure power and durability.

No. His Rage is fully tied to his strength, as was exacerbated by Izzy Medrano who worked on GoW Ascension, that Rage is an asset against Kratos's foes that the other foes do not have. His rage allows him to increase all aspects of his powers and abilities.

Also even without that the blogs are also referring to the hidden strength he had kept away since his rampage on Olympus.

Being a god =/= having the magical elemental powers of one. You could simply be considered a God by having the strength to kill one. But in Greece officially, everyone calls Kratos mortal, calling him a former god of war after he was stripped of his powers via the Blade of Olympus by Zeus. Him being a god is just a by-product of being cursed to being immortal and having the strength to kill gods.

TL; DR, Officially speaking, Kratos is not actually a God, but unofficially speaking, he qualifies every single requirement to be one. Gods don't even have to be necessarily overtly haxed to speak of. Just ask Hermes, whose only advantage other than being immortal, is speed.

Demigod tier isn't locked down to 7-B. Hercules is a prime example of that. Kratos is basically a top-tier Demigod now.

This is one of those cases where WoG is contradicted heavily by both the official PlayStation blogs, the game itself and by Eric Williams.

Plus, Cory is good with the lore side of things, but bad with the powerscaling aspects. That realm is better handled by Bruno, who actually oversees the boss fights and has been the main animation director since GOW3.

No, he never said that they were the "heaviest". He said "they were as heavy as any I have ever felt", which implies they're just as strong as the blows from the other Gods he has fought against in the past. This is also from the perspective of a massively-holding-back Kratos.

Deimos's blows were also powerful enough to severely damage Kratos despite the latter holding back even in this case. But the power difference is immediately visible as seen when Kratos survives multiple wall rams from Thanatos but just one ram was enough to kill Deimos.

No. Those statements are contradicted by the game's actual statements and by several other PlayStation blogs as well as the entire premise of 2018's story, with Eric Williams's "Kratos was rusty because he had been out of action" statement being icing on the cake.

ok we are derailing far to much ya got discord or something like that i would like to continue to discuss this but we are already breaking the rules as is

Because plot manipulation is a different kind of cat.

well plot manip is somewhat of an issue I wouldn't say it would be enough to actually overcome all the resistance's kratos has in time before the overwhelming power advantage that kratos has deals the killing blow

It's going to turn him and the serpent into a comicbook.

ok like omniscience for example. say character x is omniscient in his verse but when he goes to marvel verse he wouldn't be omniscient anymore. same for plot manip
Not really, Richard Nixon from the Deanverse went over to another universe and fictionalized it into a comicbook creating the Nixonverse
