God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

will this cause controversy and stuff ?
IDK, only time will tell. The very notion of calling the Eastern Monotheistic religions as a pantheon (Specifically Islam and Sikhism and prolly some others too) can very potentially be considered quite offensive, given the fact that most Middle Eastern countries do not see God of War in a good light for all the wrong reasons anyway, but again, merely speculation.

Wait really? why?

Could be, specially odin as he did in fact killed Ymir, thought there are beings more formidabble and stronger than them like that multi-armed giant.
I more meant as kratos struggled lifting mjolnir but thor and odin could do it like nothing.

Pantheon... The word in an of itself is furthest from Monotheist religions AFAIk. It implies existence of more than one god, which is anti thesis to their ideology/faith.
But most importantly they don't tolerate any different version(even slightly different) of their faith from anyone... Especially Western people.

...what a bunch of gate keepers, I mean yeah we know you want respect to the og but come on man, have a open mind let people write stories, am sure who watches it up above might get a kick or to and would appreciate it.

make sense, i am just worried that SMS need to deal with "Suicide Bombing stuff".

Shhhhhhh. Want to keep your head on your shoulders? Just pretend this was a happy little accident and get on with your lives.

Mimir describes the Egyptians as both ancient and technologically advanced. Curious what direction they'll go with them with that in mind.

Maybe they will explore greek gods vs egyptian gods and egyptian gods are like travelers and go to different Pantheons.

So the Treasures stuff are from Mimir's perspective after all. Guess Fallen Shit remains canon I suppose.

All of this cons talk about GoW Ragnarok, yet the game would definitely win in GOTY so all of this talk is pointless lel
Although I want it to win, it probably won't. Elden Ring has equally good reviews (heck, it's rated higher on Metacritic), is cross-platform, AND has been out for longer.

Also, some tidbits about the mask.

People might call it a Mask reference but uh...

"Opsidiani Spitha"

That sounds Greek like if anything to me.

The Green rift, the "knowledge", Odin not getting access to it and instead suffering damage as a result.

Could it truly be the higher existence that Athena spoke of?

The voices that Odin speaks of, can only mean Athena's bullshit spreading far and wide.

Which is interesting,
Odin mentions getting that when he was a young God, could this imply the gap between the sagas is much more then 150 years?
I mean, there were countless souls outside Helheim and they were still threatening to drown Midgard too so uh...
Yeah Helheim can overflow which is fun

The realms are infinite in size. The planet in Helheim i.e. Hel, where the souls are located, can overflow.

Prolly further strengthens Kratos's claim of having lived for centuries in Lore and Legends which takes place a year after 2018.

I wonder how they would come down into Midgard then. Some weird realm fabric shenanigans bullshit?

Also makes me wonder, given that the realms have a core main planet that everyone seems accustomed to, why were there never any aliens in any of the realms from other planets and star systems within those realms?

Let's not use Lindwyrms, those guard the Realm Tree, they ain't alien.

Yeah, I guess. Realm tears or something.

Because the writers didn't think that. Besides, all the other realms are alien planets from a Midgardian's perspective anyway.

I wonder if athena would just suddenly appear with a similiar way to god speaking above the clouds snd her voice being heard in all the realms, saying "Have come to **** your shit up, kratos" before making him leave the norse patheon by force, with mimir of course.
