The Ultra Series Discussion Thread: Unleash! The Power of Imagination!

Pretty much.

Ah, right. So what do you guys think about the trailer? One of the first I noticed is the CG, not exactly Hollywood level but that's fine, because it reminded me of Saga's which was honestly one of the best.

Another thing that's pretty much confirming one of my earliest observation is how exactly the Circle Arms was framed in that one shot. I thought the poster was interesting because it did a similar thing in framing it in that specific way. Guess Circle Arms might be the Eternity Core, or holds it, or is the one weapon capable of matching it.
Hollywood level is too high, its Garo level at best and Garo CGI are the peak Japanese CGI animation

Oh right also forgot to mention the behind the scenes for Ultra Galaxy Fight 2 from the Bluray are out in raw.

There aren't any full translations so I'm not sure if there are any other important statements from the interview. But I think it was mentioned once again that Tartarus is the strongest enemy in the Ultra Series right now. And I think there was a translation saying that according to Sakamoto in the interview, unless Zero stacks both Ultimate and Shining together he doesn't stand a chance against Tartarus who transcends space-time/dimensions (时空). And Zero's next mission is learn how to use Ultimate Shining properly. So from the looks of it Zero is definitely gonna fight Tartarus again in the future.
Really can you show me the interview where sakamoto said transcends space time dimensions thing

I guess Chinese and Japanese characters for time are different because I keep getting caught off guard. But anyway, I'm gonna call it early and hope future materials confirm that transcending space-time may actually mean they have 4D power or have become 4D beings. I'd explain why, but it's another straw reaching thing at the moment.

Time is 時間 Jikan. Space is 空間 Kukan. Space-Time/Dimension is 時空 Jiku. These words are the same for both Chinese and Japanese. I just previously wrote them in Simplified Chinese (时间,空间,时空) while Japanese uses Traditional Chinese as Kanji which is why they probably looked a bit different to you.

Oh right also just asking does anybody want me to link and make a summary of the 2021 Ultraman Z stage show where Geed first met Z? Cause it’s from the 2021 Ultra Heroes EXPO THE LIVE which is also the same EXPO where the canon Tri Squad prequel stage show was from. And from the looks of it this is also probably one of the canon stage shows as there isn’t any audience participation or whatever for this story just like with the Tri Squad one.

You mean the 8 minute short summary that Tsuburaya posted? Yeah I know but I mean do you guys want to see the entire stage show and a detailed summary/translation of Part 1 which is likely canon?

Can anyone help me translate this cause i keep seeing it said multiverse but i actually happen only in galactic empire universe

Even if it's not canon can anyone help me please

It claims to have been supervised by Abe Yuichi himself, writer of Revenge of Belial, but it's a bit skewered in that it's translated into Indonesian, I assume. It also throws me off due to the fact that I can't judge its quality as a result. But just to be safe, we'll assume it bunk for now.

Yeah like just taking a look at it and I am pretty sure that’s just a fan made thing. Dark Lucifer is literally a scrapped character that was never mentioned anywhere outside of Nexus and yet somehow in this video mentioned Dark Lucifer along with Ultimate Force Zero.

Not to mentioned from what I’ve seen the Indonesian fandom always makes up random stuff and say it’s canon without giving any source so it’s best to just ignore it. Like for Battle of Dreams Noa they even added a random 5000 years ago into their summary or whatever even though scans of the actual magazine only said 20000 years ago and never once mentioned 5000 years ago.

Why does it matter though? I don’t understand Indonesian so I can’t translate it. And this can‘t even be considered non canon as it’s very likely a fanmade thing as I have never seen any mentions of Dark Lucifer with Ultimate Force Zero in any official source on both the Chinese and English fandom.

The most I’ve seen are random marketers (营销号) in China making up random fanfics and saying it’s official which some people actually believe for some reason. This video is very likely a similar case. Like some of the stuff they make up are pretty crazy. I could even link you some example if you want to see for yourself.

So yeah anyways finished the summary translation of Ultra Heroes EXPO THE LIVE: Ultraman Z. And here’s the link to the stage show.

Now onto the summary

So the stage show starts off with a cameo of Haruki in his training days talking to Hebikura (Juggler) and Yoko about how he can’t go on anymore. But Juggler still tells him to stand up and get ready for the simulation battle and Yonko asks if he forgot his ambition to which he responds by standing up and saying he will protect not the people of the country but the people of this world.

Scene changes and now we are in the M78 Land of Light.

We see Z after the events of the Ultraman Z Voice Drama after he passed the test to join the Inter Galactic Defense Force. Today’s the day of his special training and the one that will be training him today is none other than Ace who congratulated him for passing the defense force entrance exam before telling him to get ready for the virtual simulation.

Another scene change and now we see see both Z and Haruki in their simulation training. Haruki is fighting three random goons while Z is facing off against two Alien Magma and a Telesdon. The simulation ends and we see Ace and Hikari congratulating Z for completing the simulation training before talking about how tomorrow is his first mission. And than Zero appears and tells him not to get overconfident and still acting like a thundered saying he never accepted Z as his disciple. To which Z replies that he can’t believe that Zero would skip work to see him train. This gets an reaction out of Zero who said he only came to see since he just so happened to be passing by.

And now the scene changes to the day of Z’s first mission. We see Z flying through space and learning from Zoffy that his first mission is to investigate the Devil Splinters that are causing monsters to go berserk.

Scene changes to a planet that I don’t know the name of as it’s not translated. There we see a Tyrant going berserk due to the Devil Splinters that an Alien Hook used with Seven, Zero, and Riku arriving at the scene. Seven and Zero easily defeats the Tyrant while Riku as Geed chases down the Alien Hook.

In the next scene we see a Black King attacking an Alien Steal with Z arriving on the scene. Z easily defeats the Black King but due to communication problems he doesn’t understand what the Alien Steal is saying. Geed arrives and hits the Alien Hook with a Wrecking Ripper. Z saw Geed and thought he was an alien that was going berserk due to how scary his eyes looked. After that they get into a fight before Seven and Zero arrives on the scene asking what they are doing.

After realizing the mistake Z apologizes and Geed says its fine since he’s always confused with his father due to how similar they look. Z asked if Geed could explain what he meant so Geed just gave him a run down of his history with Belial. And the stage turns dark and shows a remake of what happens in the final episode of Ultraman Geed.

Z realizes he is the super famous Geed and says it’s a pleasure to be his acquaintance as a fellow disciple of Zero to which Geed replies he isn’t Zero’s disciple just like in Z’s tv. Zero tells him to stop and focus on his mission while Seven says there’s a lot of Devil Splinter responses on this planet so it’s best to recover them immediately. When the stage turns dark we hear a voice that says “I found it.”

In the next scene we see Geed facing Alien Hook in Magnificent form. He was easily overpowering him before Giron Man joined in and knocks him back into Primitive. Soon after, Belial arrives on the scene and saves Geed. Geed questions how it’s possible and Belial says that it seems like because of the light energy from Geed the darkness has disappeared from his body and now his body appears to have been reconstructed with cells of light. Geed questions if that even possible to which Belial replies they got other stuff to worry about.

Seven, Zero, and Z arrives on the scene after the two of them have defeated Alien Hook and Giron Man. Geed vouches saying that this Belial helped him but Zero says it’s dangerous to trust him so easily. He believes that Belial might be formulating some other plan. And when this Belial suddenly apologizes, Zero just goes whaaaaaaaat and says how disgusting that feels. Belial than goes on to explain how there’s a guy who is gathering large amounts of his cells (Devil Splinters) on this planet and requests for their help after saying he found their hiding place. Seven seems to have decided to see for himself whether or not Belial has changed but warns him not to make any suspicious moves. Suddenly, Rosso and Blu appears fighting Red King and Black King. And they decide to talk later after finishing the monsters.

In the next scene we see a door to the hideout. Here Rosso and Blue thanks Belial for his crystal that they use. Z also questions how they are gonna get in to which Belial and Zero simply fires off a beam from their hand and completely shatters the door. Belial says they should report to Father of Ultra and split into groups of three with him and Geed being one of the group.

However, before Geed leaves Seven tells him that Belial is comrades in arms with Father of Ultra and calls him by his real name Ken. So Seven says this is definitely a fake acting like Belial. But Geed says he knows. Everybody asks why he‘s still going if he knows it’s a fake. Geed says that “Even if it’s just once it’s fine. I want to fight together with my father like Zero did even if I know it’s a lie.” He apologizes saying sorry he knows it’s dangerous but he still wants it to last a little longer. When the others try to chase after him they were stopped by Alien Baltan and Alien Dada.

In the next scene we see the fake Belial and Geed alone. When this Belial was about to backstab Geed, he simply replies what is his purpose. He reveals himself as Alien Bat who wants a new evil overlord to rule the universe now that Belial is gone. And he believes that the best choice is Geed who is closest to Belial. So his goal is to release the dark powers inside of Geed. Geed rejects his offer and says he‘s an Ultra and he doesn’t want to rule the universe. The others arrive on the scene and are defeated after they became weakened due to the darkness energy in this castle. After asking if Geed ever thought about going down the same path as his father, Bat proceeds to take Geed’s DNA and create Kaiser Geed.

Kaiser Geed easily defeats the weakened Ultras and now only Geed and Z are left. Z proceeds to keep on fighting while encouraging Geed. Also a acoustic version of Geed’s opening is now being played and it actually sounds really good. Geed stands up to fight and now Ace and Hikari have arrived as reinforcements. They shared their energy and proceeded to receive everybody on the scene. Rosso and Blu and fuses into Ruebe. So now it’s Ace, Seven, Zero, Z, Geed, Ruebe, and Hikari vs Kaiser Geed, Alien Bat, Alien Baltan, Alien Dada, Black King, Kamisori Demaaga, and what looks to be Kyrieloid I.

Everybody won their fights and now only Kaiser Geed is left. Kaiser Geed defeats Primitive Geed w/ Geed Claw and Geed turns back into Riku. And it seems like Belial’s spirit came back and protected Riku by attacking Kaiser Geed. Ricky now transforms into Royal Mega Master and proceeds to defeat Kaiser Geed after dual wielding with the Geed Claw.

After the battle Geed questions whether or not the Belial he saw that came to save him was an illusion. And after a short talk we now have a direct connection to the Ultraman Z to series. Geed says he will now go to Planet Ain as they detected a signal from Gilvallis. Hikari also says if Geed’s in trouble he can always rely on his science to support him. After that they all went their separate ways.

The ending scene shows Alien Bat dying but not before implanting himself into a computer system thing which leads into the non-canon Part 2 of the stage show.

And that’s it for the canon part of this stage show. And yeah from the looks of it this stage show is very likely canon as it even mentions how Geed went after Gilvallis.

Finally got around to reading this, and initially I was thinking about how this felt a bit fanfiction-y because of Belial. Good thing that was a fake-out, more so now when I think of how likely this really could be canon. Yes, I'm aware of everything else, just being cautious. Kind of hurts though, when Geed was talking about letting the fake go on even if he knew it was a fake, just so he could pretend to spend time with his father. Poor, almost literal, bastard.

And you know, the whole plotline of whether Geed ever thought of continuing his father's legacy somehow could actually work in canon. It really wouldn't be out of place in a narrative sense, and considering how they're even giving Ribut and Sora special Voice Dramas, making another spin-off for previous Ultras seems well within their capabilities. I gotta wonder too if they're slowly hinting to a possible Belial redemption in canon with this. I won't say my stance on redemption, but it'd be interesting to see another on-screen redemption since Mephisto.

Same here and yeah I honestly felt bad for Geed once I realized he just wanted to spend time with Belial even knowing it was a fake that was acting like one.

Yeah this storyline could honestly fit in canon due to the Devil Splinter stuff that still hasn’t been taken care of. A full on Belial redemption doesn’t seem possible. But a small redemption where Belial becomes sort of an anti-hero is definitely possible since the stage show having Belial‘s spirit coming back kinda made that possible despite him being permanently dead.

The main wiki Discord got hands on some mag scans. Still dunno how to transfer it while on mobile sadly, but it does seem to hint a confirmation on one of my suspicions. One section detailing the 3DG spoke something about turning the entire universe into a world of darkness.

It's the picture where Trigger is framed alongside them, which I'm sure didn't have the text before. Or at least, blurry at the time.

So Tsuburaya posted the newest video on the stage shows and outright said the Tri Squad and Geed meeting Z stage shows are original stories that link with the TV series in their description. So yeah the Geed and Z stage show is also straight up confirmed canon now just like the Tri Squad stage show.

@Mr.Cutlery I think I remember seeing a few posts on Tieba having scans. I’ll try and see if I can find them later.

Edit: Found the magazine scans.

Nice and all, but that just made Geed's pain canon now. Hope they capitalize on that.

Oh nice, and there's a whole lot more. I probably won't find more stuff that is as important, but it should be fun.

Just a heads up. The Ultraman Z Super Complete Works have been released. And there are already people starting to post spoilers and scans of it. I shall inform you guys if there are any important information or scaling reveals from it. But for now here’s the scrapped designs for Z’s different forms.

I really like how DRC was once given his components' as primary base. I see Magnificent DRC, Atrocious, and Beyond. There's even one that's very similar to Galaxy Rising even. I guess either GR was made first, or was derived from that concept art of DRC.

I also kinda like Gamma Future CA Type 3 there with the curved headpiece. Though I'd suspect people might see some Zero in it.

Oh right also they decided to add images for the unmade scenes from the Orb Super Complete Works. Funny thing is Yuka's actor is also the actor for that yandere alien fan of Juggler's from the early chapters of the Orb Chronicles.

Doubt there will be any statements for Orb as this is a Ultraman Z and Ultra Galaxy Fight 2 Super Complete Works.

Right now we have absolutely no clue how strong the New Generation Ultras are in comparison to each other. All we know is all of them are at least stronger than Photon Earth Taiga in Base based on Rosso and Blu hurting Grimdo while Photon Earth Taiga isn't capable of doing so.

Also we already know that Original Z is even weaker than Base Taiga but its not to the point where they are incomparable.

Those were planned since all the way back for Orb's SCW? Damn. And damn straight it's hilarious they decided Hikari Kuroki to portray Biranki given that her other character canonically terrified Juggler.

Not sure if they were planned or if they only recently decided to take photos for the Orb Chronicle stuff. But yeah its hilarious. I wonder how Juggler felt when he first saw Yuka lol.

Next information that the users on Tieba posted on the Super Complete Works is a novel about Grigio Raiden. They only had a quick summary though so there’s likely quite a bit of information that’s missing.

Grigio Raiden is revealed to be Sagittarius a Sniper from the O-50 Universe. She was originally a member of the special forces of a planet alliance (There should be a name for it but I don’t know how to translate it), but due to infighting between the alliance her entire squad lost their life. Due to this she resents the alliance and searched for greater power to take vengeance against them.

She climbed Warrior’s Peak on Planet O-50 in search of this power. But due to her twisted spirit she didn’t become a warrior of light (Ultra) and instead she became the monster Grigio. After obtaining this power she worked together with a weapon dealer Phalaris to have her revenge against the alliance.

But after she was implanted with a seed of life by Celebro her movements started to become radical. And thus she asked Phalaris to modify her into Grigio Raiden. After the modification she became a war machine that only had the thought to kill all her enemies.

After Phalaris was defeated by Juggler, Grigio Raiden lost her controller and became nothing more than a monster. And in her rampage she destroyed Bahamut City. And after using up all her energy she turned herself into an asteroid in search of a new planet. But before she left a man was on her shoulder.

Juggler’s words to Sagittarius before she left

Grigio. No, Sagittarius.
Although it is pitiful, you are no longer the person you used to be.
Let me allow you to have a good night's sleep on a new planet.
If we face each other in the future, I won’t hold back.

So yeah if I had to guess the infighting of the alliance was very likely caused by Celebro.

Yeah, Z seems to really amp up the mercilessness level of the series. I'd argue we're starting to see brutality levels exceeding Nexus if they keep this up.

Though I'll admit to not having read the whole thing so far. And all these is certainly way more than I expected going off of even more compressed summaries. It's kind of refreshing too, in a way, because of how much more versatile in tone the series is getting. Don't get me wrong, it always have been, but never fully dived into.

The more I think about it, the more frustrated I get when we know that Nexus' Meta Field is called a "Discontinuous Spatio-Temporal Field", indicating a whole universe especially since it's established that it's a Phase of its own which has also been stated to be its own realm in the folds of the universe. Doesn't help that universes are also composed of quantum particles, which is exactly what Nexus does for Meta Fields, but the correlation is too vague for anything solid.

If nothing, this at least gives Nexus Spatial and possibly Time Manipulation to go with Quantum Manipulation.

So the main wiki Discord has caught wind of the Land of Light tournament thing and I probably shoulda mentioned it first, but I confirmed it and sent the images you sent me, @Peter1129.

I'll update on their thoughts if needed.

Yep. And they're pretty civil about it, chalked it up to be Showa Era business of new always being stronger.

Technically not just a Showa thing. It was a trend for all main Ultras that lasted in Heisei all the way up until the appearance of Zero.

No? Isn't that a feature of King himself? Also, far as I'm aware, Baraghi is Noa's own power. So, no.

On another note, has anyone else watched the Special Preview?
