And so we are into our final 2 rounds! Our losers have fought hard, or haven't and went through my technicality (like a real loser), but before we do our finals, we have to see who will take the final spot for the finals. It's between Baldi from Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning, Submitted by Joaco0902, going up against Dick Gumshoe, from Ace Attorney, Submitted by Whiteoak019

The Current Standings

Speed is equal

They both start in range

Baldi scales above 300,000 Joules

Dick Gumshoe scales notably above 220,556.44 Joules (He technically wasn't in the limit but I forgot to remove him. But since he has Gun and scales notably above, he shall stay due to my error)

Times to see who comes out on top between these two!

Well. At least the finals will be more of a debate than what it was going to be before.


Don't make me do the lame thing of just moving Dick to the next round automatically. I just did that already. And have done it like, 4 times this tournament. Even if dick wins easily.
 
Tournaments are a cruel mistress, but fine I'll leave debate here in a bit. Does Baldi have his smoke machine? Just curious I'm pretty sure that's a thing he has
 
Isn't that only in the school? Iirc. That's where it is normally. He doesn't list that around with him

Baldi: Stronger, more durable, could become faster to the point of overwhelming gumshoe, has the range advantages in close combat with his ruler, and could take Gumshoe by surprise with his sound manipulation and illusions. He might not do so anytime soon but it's a good thing to do if he deems necessary and will take Gumshoe off guard.

Gumshoe: Has the skill and the training, has the LS, possibly higher intelligence, pressure point knowledge

Even: Arguably intelligence and stamina is even.

My main question is how well has Gumshoe been shown to fight? What we know of police training and what we see in fiction can vary differently so I'm going to simply ask what we've seen of Gumshoe's capability to fight.
 
He fought and restrained that Phoenix look alike. Attacks and quickly restrained him after he was going to make an attempt on Phoenix. And Miles does hire him not for Brain work, but to do the heavy work. Meaning miles does see him as strong, and enough to defend him should things get out of hand. This Tigre guy intimidated a lot of people iirc.

Stamina may not be even and may need an update. Iirc, unless the anime changed it. Gumshoe was up and walking despite being out in a full upper body body cast after a car crash in a very short period of time. Like. Showed up after Von karma did (who got shot in the shoulder and ran several miles with this injury)
 
Well of course he's a police officer. I'd rely on him to defend me as well. Give the man credit where it's due. So was Tigre unarmed? Just curious. I think that might help this fight a bit.

I mean, wouldn't that arguably be minor regen? I dunno
 
He was. But I checked it out. Tigre is a loan shark guy. Which those guys tend to be a bit more skilled do to obvious reasons. Which also explains why everyone was so scared of him except for the literal biggest criminal in town. He also was one of the guys sent after De Killer if that helps any too. Showing he clearly is a competent enough cop to be sent on an important mission like that.

He wasn't healed. He was still in the body cast walking around. He just was tolerating the pain enough to come to court
 
Yea. He did acknowledge it hurt real badly, but still walking around like right after a bat crash that bad should help his stamina. I'll get that updated later if the game followed the same.
 
Oh yea. He is a Head detective/officer. Not just a Normal one. So that probably gives him some good skill. Especially since he was let on the De killer case and sent after him. Who's a very dangerous guy
 
Still. I guess I could play a little bit of devil's advocate.

So, Could Baldi just simply keep a distance with his ruler and smack Gumshoe repeatedly until he be dead or knocked unconscious? Depending on how Gumshoe fights (which we don't entirely see), he might just end up making Baldi more pissed and end up getting overwhelmed by a speedy teacher. Baldi's manipulation of sound and illusions is going to make it even worse for Gumboy
 
Keep a distance? Wouldn't that result in, Gu? Or Gumshoe just gonna taking it and snapping it.

Also. I just realized. If he doesn't go for a gun. What stops him from restraining Baldi? Downright tackles or grabs onto him and holds him down or beats on him from there. Not like Baldi starts faster, or can break free. If he doesn't start up close to restrain and KO or kill, then range and he uses his family's secret technique. Gu

I went to look at Gumshoe Intelligence feats. He has solved a mystery miles had trouble with and even called out a mistake he made during his chess game. And was top ranked in college. Gumshoe may be smarter than he lets o
 
Eh, yeah Baldi loses. Gumshoe has the greater skill and LS.

but really if you ask me he's the true winner here
 
Gumshoe has 6+ years of being a detective, thus, is more experienced. Baldi tends to mindlessly charge at his opponent, but Gumshoe just guns the poor teacher.

PS: If Harvey's match comes, I must prepare a calc for him to prep him for the final.
 
Frank West is keeping his win against peter due to me fighting against the building level feat buff someone was gonna give them. I paid back my debt for getting Larry's feat checked out

Hey butters do you have the full episode that's referenced in Harvey's LS category? I want to calculate it

I don't but I know where to find it and can calc it myself cause it's definitely into Class 5 decently
