Yeah. The main thing that changes between his High 7-A key and his 6-C key are the applications of his abilities. As well as his usage of a whip in additon to his tonfa.

I feel like that profiles like that need a note explaining what ability is in said tier

His abilities doesn't change is the thing. He simply gains more applications of said abilites from one arc to the next.

However, I do agree that it's worth leaving a note on the profile about such.

Well... Hibari is one of the best CQC fighters in series. So I believe that it's not his trouble to fight her on CQC. Hibari's cloud flame radar can make him keep up with any attack that she throws to him.

Hibari's cloud hedgehog is also really useful. Lopunny should have trouble against needle spheres which can quickly keep growing and multiplying which control the space for melee fight and also cover around Hibari too. Not to mention that cloud hedgehog can also absorb energy, which makes energy moves like Hyper Beam can't effective.

Furthermore, Hibari's handcuff is pretty powerful. Hibari just needs to catch her with one of them and the game will end. BEcause handcuff will multiply and cover and bind the whole body of Lopunny before squeeze Ó╣ëher to death.

For now, I'm leaning toward Hibari'll rape bite bunny girl(?) to death.

The handcuffs would be rendered useless

Also if Lopunny touches Hibari once he will be instantly infatuated to the point of partial incapacitation

Nope...Handcuffs are definitely a damaging move...they have huge spikes on them after all.

Its a restraining move and Magic Coat blocks stuff like Leech Seed as well which does damage

It's both restraining and an attack because the handcuffs multiply with spikes on them. Leech seed is completely different, it's labeled as a non-damaging move after all, and is more akin to SEI given its effects.

Spikes is just a pokemon throwing sharp bit of rock at the feet of it opponent and that gets reflected by magic coat. I suspect a pair of handcuffs would be affected similarly.

I don't think Hibari will be infatuated as his willpower manip should make him capable of resisting it. Hibari is the type to prefer to fight a strong opponent as the main priority and refuses to let others control his destiny. His willpower should make him keep fighting.

Why do you compare handcuff with something like leech seed and spike? It's not like Hibari need to throw them only. He can come close to her with a handcuff and directly catch her. Is magic coat can also protect against a direct attack like that?

Lopuny also still hasn't any answer against a lot of needle spheres which can appear and grow from anywhere.

A strong will isnt enough to resist it when there are pokemon who essentially dedicate their entire life to strengthening their willpower to the point where its one of their defining abilities and they are easily affected

Yes, Magic Coat can protect her from attacks like that

Trap Seer and Trap Avoider allow her to know where the needle spheres are and know to avoid them, which is aided by Clutch Performer, Dritical Dodger, and Quick Dodger, all of which drastically increases her ability to avoid attacks

Mirror Coat would also block the Needle Spheres

Encore prevents him from using any other attack or ability other than the last one he used

Copycat lets Lopunny use the attacks Hibari uses against him

Lopunny can also use things like Teeter Dance and Attract to confuse and infatuate hibari into submission respectively

Thanks for coming in Weekly.

Anyhow, I had a feeling that Hibari was hard countered here. Does he have a viable win con?

If not, maybe Yamamoto would be better. Or Gokudera. Or even Mukuro. Hibari seems to be the worst guardian to use here, Lambo aside.

Quick question, not planning on voting or debating. Does Magic Coat reflect bind? Because regarding the mechanics of the attack itself, that's the one closest to Hibari's handcuffs. From what I remember it reflects anything that's considered a status effect, which the handcuffs shouldn't be assumed to function as unless there is a skill like it in Pokemon that can provably be reflected. Of the moves I can think of, bind is the closest in terms of usage and functionality, whereas stealth rock is more akin to how his needle spheres work.

I'd be surprised if teeter dance worked at all considering he's powered through poison and illusions. Attract would likely work similarly well, if he was affected at all. I somehow doubt Hibari would fall in love or feel sexual attraction to an athropomorphic bunny, and even assuming he did he's definitely the type to bludgeon her regardless. I also take some issue with using the fact that attract can work on incredibly disciplined Pokemon as a feat for the move in general when it's likely game mechanics, but I digress.

Knowing where they are and avoiding them is still useful for fencing off areas and preventing Lopunny from moving freely. The fact that she might reflect them towards him, or at least away from herself, is much more useful and one of her main advantages. So, assuming for the moment that her Magic Coat works on the needle spheres(which I think is likely) and handcuffs(which I find more doubtful) that means it's down to their respective CQC skills which...I'm honestly not sure about. I'm tempted to say Hibari because he's notable in his universe as being exceptional at combat, and being hailed as the strongest member of the protag's team since his first fight on their side. However, I'm not certain what exactly Lopunny's expertise in this area is so I can't comment further.

If anyone wants to reply to this, go ahead. However, I'm not planning on participating further. I just had some stuff I wanted to add in case it was relevant.

As for other matches in case this one turns out to be unfair.

Mukuro's illusions would likely all be reflected by Magic Coat so he's hard-countered

Yamamoto is in a similar situation as Hibari where MC deals with a lot of his more strategic flame uses, but he can likely keep up in CQC so the match is more fair, though leaning toward Lopunny since he's forced to fight with a severe handicap and isn't as good at fighting as Hibari is.

Gokudera I'm unsure on and I'm too tired to think any more at the moment.

I apologize for posting a needlessly long comment and leaving without even voting, but I had some thoughts on the match that I wanted to type out before going to bed.

Teeter Dance isnt poison or illusions its mind manip, and infatuation in pokemon in general has shown to work on human trainers. And regardless of what he tries to do to attack her, Infatuation makes it so the opponent is physically incapable of attacking half the time even if they want to.

Lopunny's evasiveness and combat mobility is insane, and coupled with a huge speed amp from Agility and she'll have no trouble maneuvering through whatever he tries to throw at her. Since this is Mega Lopunny, her entire combat mindset is that of a focused and strategic fighter, to the point that she is physically altered to be more suited to actual combat and even her type changes to that of a Fighting type.

As for CQC stuff, Lopunny actually has two things that will be extremely detrimental to Hibari. The first is Mirror Coat, which will reflect the majority of his abilities back at him dealing double the damage. The second is the IQ skill Counter Hitter, if Hibari lands a solid hit on Lopunny, 1/4th of the damage immediately gets reflected back onto him. Couple this with something like Encore, which will lock him out of being able to use all but one of his abilities at any given time and he's in serious trouble. Lopunny also has stuff like Practice Swinger, which boosts her attack power if she misses an attack, and Quick Striker and Extra Striker, which allows her to attack at a much faster rate.

Lopunny also has the chance to burn Hibari and cut all of his physical power in half with Fire Punch, freeze him solid with Ice Punch, or paralyze him and cut his speed in half with Thunderpunch.

Lopunny also has moves like Charm/Baby Doll Eyes, Fake Tears, Agility, and Defense Curl/Cosmic Power which severely lower the opponent's AP, lowers the opponent's defense, severely increase her Speed, and increases her defense respectively. Also if she lands a single Sweet Kiss or Dizzy Punch Hibari will be double whammy confused and infatuated at the same time.

@Weekly

1) KHR illusions ARE mind manipualtion (Perception manipulation is via controlling the brain) it's literally stated in the first illusionist vs. illusionist battle in the series.

2) Lopunny likely has a speed and evasiveness advantage. I also think the OP forgot to mention that speed is equal unless I'm missing something.

3) "Mirror Coat: After Lopunny is hit by a non-physical attack, it will reflect with double the damage".../Literally all of Hibari's attacks are physical.

4) Mini Rant: I don't like arguing against rpg type characters like this, because they often times have no canon standard battle strategy; so the people arguing for them can claim that they can use a specific ability to counter their opponent, which they have no prior knowledge of, for no real reason. This is why it often times comes down to sheer ability...which is trash imo.

Rant Over

Despite everything I said above, I'll still vote for Lopunny because of....Sheer ability...which, compared to a lot of other KHR characters, Hibari really doesn't have much of.

Also, unlike Vindictive Loser, who thinks Mukuro's illusions somehow get reflected by Magic Coat (Which is a huge stretch considering Mukuro's resistance, the scale of his illusions, the fact that he always starts with illusions, and his own ability to reflect them and break them). I actually think he stomps, mainly because of illusion shinanigans and what is essentially Low-Godly Regenerationn.

A better match might be Byakuran or Gokudera. If mirror coat is like magic coat in the sense that it is a barrier, both can power null it.

Yeah, I forgot about what a high-tier illusionist Mukuro was in-verse, mainly because it's been so long since I read the series and I haven't read through his profile. Wasn't aware of Low-Godly though.

And I admittedly forgot that Magic Coat isn't Magic Bounce and needs to be activated, which isn't as useful when your opponent's first move is an illusion you don't resist and you don't know they'll be using it.

If I had to guess, Gokudera's ability to punch through shields and attack from range would make the fight more even, since Lopunny's melee options become more difficult to pull off and her defensive options are less viable. However, she could then begin using Mirror Coat, since I'd guess that Gokudera's flame projectiles would count as non-physical moves. Though the resulting counter is likely dodgeable and she has to tank a hit each time she wants to use the move so it's not that good of a counter anyway.

Also, apparently some part of my brain decided I'm not allowed to sleep yet so I decided to come back until that changes. Likely won't be participating anyway since I have little interest in trying to legitimately debate and form coherent arguments with my current level of sleep.

I mean, Gokudera's attacks cause physical harm. So I feel they should count as physical attacks for that reason alone.

Also, Lopunny FRA. I feel Hibari is a much better fighter. And he can always move his hedgehogs back if they're being reflected. But Lopunny simply has too much for him to deal with.

I mean, Glaceon is very busted due to having Conquest abilities that just amp her advantage in Hail by a large margin

Byakuran seems good, he don't have the AP advantage, but his Fire manip will help
