Wander had been running through the lands on his trusted horse, Aggro, looking for the next colossus, when suddenly, he noticed a strange snake...woman creature who was looking rather lost and confused. Having never seen such a creature before, Wander slowed his horse and slowly dismounted.

Serpantina , however, noticed shortly after and put her hand on her hips, as the other held a sword. "Hey, you! You wanna tell me where I am so I can get outta here? I've got cities to plunder!"

Those words seemed to have set Wander off, as he quickly pulled his sword out soon after and aimed it at the snake woman. Some strange demon...nothing he couldn't take care of.

"Jeez! I didn't think people hated telling directions that badly she muttered before pulling out her son sword and grinning. "Guess I'll have to beat the directions outta you!"

Both combatants start at sword's length apart and speed is equalized. Fight takes place in the open areas Wander runs around in.

Nah, it's actually funny in that way.

Not really hurting anyone.

How good is Serpantina against other humans?

I don't think Wander is particularly well-matched against other human-sized combatants. His best...well, anything, comes from killing Colossi who attack with extremely telegraphed moves and relatively minor sapience at best. He's not like Ico who actually has some showings against monsters with relatively normal size/speed and no weak points to abuse.

While serpantina was never shown canonically to fight humans she's been a pirate for about most of her life and she's fought creatures who are likely either on par or superior to normal humans. Her attacks aren't the most telegraphed but you can sorta pick 'em out. She moves faster than the Colossi though to be fair. Wander fights a lot of slow moving targets so I imagine it'd be difficult for him to keep up at least initially.

Well, in that case, I suppose it would depend on how likely she is to get close.

Wander doesn't have melee combat feats for shit, but he's almost guaranteed to be a proficient archer, and could probably tag her with his bow if they start off right away. However, up close he's basically Frodo; a relatively featless wonder carrying a letter-opener.

Well, funny thing about that is one of her attacks is literally charging forward with her sword and then slicing shortly after, once she's stopped. It'd be pretty in character for her to rush him And get up close, and I guess if he tries to move away she could throw swords at him.

Hmm.

The OP says he's on his horse? He's might be able to keep his distance while he's on that thing, given how "ride your horse away from the thing chasing you" is actually a thing he had to do against one of the Colossi. (that giant sandworm one in the big desert arena) Adding to that, one of the steps to beating that boss was shooting it in the eye with an arrow while riding away from it and not letting it touch you.

Huh, I mean fair enough. Yes, he has his horse in this, and that does give him an advantage. I suppose it's a bit iffy then, in the end. Serpantina cwn likely still toss swords at him while he tries to run away at the very least, and I have a feeling it wouldn't take much to get Aggro to knock Wander off

Going by the gameplay itself, you'd think that horse was invincible.

How proficient is she at hitting targets with her sword? Wander isn't Hawkeye or Legolas or anything, but he is still capable of hitting targets on Colossi while riding on his horse at full sprint, and at least one of those happened to be a flying Colossus whose body was several hundred feet into the air. So ifit comes down to accuracy, he's not an awful candidate there by any stretch of the imagination.

Well she doesn't have too many given feats for it, considering she only shows up as a boss twice, but considering it's one of her go to methods she's likely fairly good at it. She can also throw three at a time if she really wants to, which would make it harder to dodge. Of course the only think I can do is assume considering she's been doing this pirate thing however many years

Well, given the situation and the limited info...

I'd say Wander probably takes it more time than not. On foot, he'd probably be guaranteed to die, given how lackluster his everything is when he's not either mounted up or climbing some giant. But with his horse and his bow, I think he can keep away and land a fatal shot first. His accuracy and proficiency with his bow would play a pretty vital role in that, as would his horseback skills.

Voting him.

Pretty sure he's killed worse honestly. That scorpion colossi and other small ones are clear indicators that he can fight smaller opponents via using the enviornment and by using Aggro.

Voting Wander.
