Hello,

As we know, Kingdom Hearts 3 is just around the corner and of course that means revisions will be rampant. However, due to this, I would like to ask users to not rush to make any revision threads until other users have time to finish the game for themselves. As such we would appreciate that users wait two weeks after release before creating any revisions for the series in order to not spoil others who have yet to complete the game.

Thank you

Sounds reasonable to me. I'm going to have to wait to save to even get the game (it's on my 2019 list of things to buy).

pretty certain this didn't need highlighted

Yeah. No spoilers for the second worst verse on here

and now I BFR myself away

or just...put (SPOILERS) in the title? I don't see the point of this when we don't do it for any other series. seems like preferential treatment.

Ahem, Super Smash Bros.? There was an embargo on that one as well when Ultimate leaked.

Anyway, I agree.

I don't think that a lot of members will have finished exploring the game after just a week. Perhaps we should extend the topic ban to longer than that?

We didn't do it for other verses because no one bothered to make a thread for it. It isn't special treatment, it's actually deciding to make a thread for it. No to mention we've done it for verses like Dragon Ball in the past.

Perhaps 2 weeks then?

That seems better.

I mean...we've had people spoiled by the likes of God of War and such before. Not to mention that the Japanese version of the game comes out beforehand and the game itself has been leaked and as such, there are likelt people with the information needed on release date.

Spoilers are normally handled here by just putting a warning on the page. They are sort of inherent to the nature of profiles, after all.

People fail to realize that it's still possible to be spoiled by the fact that these revisions can still be spoiled via the "Recent Wikia Activity" as you can still see posts. Yes, but this is less stopping profile, and moreso stopping revisions regarding KH3 for the verse for a couple weeks. It not only keeps spoilers to a minumum (which as you see, many agree with), but also prevents rushed CRT's.

I agree on holding up revisions for KH3, though I don't think doing it even after 2 weeks will quite work. Mainly being that it's a long game and that some people who probably DO enjoy the series and have played it and wanted to have it finally will want to take their time enjoying it.

I know I will and I'm sure Ever will maybe (although I'm not quite sure to what degree kek) and perhaps any other that's gonna get the game and play it.

The most important one I do think of here is, unless anyone does otherwise due to leaks of the game and all just before its official release (ENG release but also perhaps JP release too on this), waiting on it. IDK if 2 weeks is enough. 3 weeks maybe but we'll see I suppose.

Well, Ii've talked to Ever about a good time and he agreed to this as well. We don't want it to be too long. We just want a time period that let's us go "Hey, we gave you enough time, if you haven't finished by now, too bad."

It took me like 2 months to beat KH2 so I'll probably wont be able to finish it by then lol.

@Dark lol that might be me with this latest schedule I'll be having starting tomorrow (five days, four classes a week kek)

@Dragon: I've been talking to Ever as well including just today and from what he said, it'd be "worth a shot" when I mentioned the two weeks thing. Maybe it might be done for him in that time but possibly not, IDK. I'll try and keep any updates from him as well in any case.

Super agree with this. I got spoiled for God of War once from the recent wiki activity, don't want that to happen again.

Would this end the same way Dragon Ball Super revision withholding did during the ToP era?

Don't think that two weeks are enough for most people to complete the game tbh, unless they don't have classes, work, or generally other stuff to do.

I mean even if you have three hours a day to play it (Which is a lot if you also have other stuff to do), you'd barely reach 40 hours in two weeks and i doubt that the game is this short.

If it's to avoid spoilers something like a month might be more appropriate.

Then again i'm not a KH person so i'll let other judge that.

Yeah, Kaltias makes a good point, I had to hold off for over 6 months to finally make a proper content revision for Xenoblade Chronicles 2; I have over 220 hours of game time and there's still a shitton of side quests and merc missions to do. Not quite finished with Torna DLC either given Smash Bros among other games kept me distracted on top of working a full time job.

I think what Kaltias said is what I was thinking more aligned with earlier but didn't quite make a good case of.

I have 4 classes I need to do this semester of mines starting tomorrow and believe me, it's not going to be easy cuz they're all stretched out to like the whole weekday (weekends being my complete free days to do anything else) and with how I did my schedule, there's not much much I can do with it in such short time on top of having to do even more things while I'm in college on even said weekends. Which is why I thought 3 weeks MIGHT be doable but something of about a month is more appropriate.

Edit: If people here do get angsty or tense about it, when this is one of the most anticipated and, if I may add, hyped games since its announcement, IDK what to really say to them about it. I definitely won't try and say "wait" cuz some may want to rush the games while others, like myself included, may want to try and take time playing and enjoying the game.

Edit 2: Whatever the case is, if people still want to do revisions after just two weeks of the games release, go right ahead. Just know that some people might not be able to join in or have gotten to the part of wherever the revisions will take on (mostly the ending battles I would assume). Could just be me myself but at least I know I won't join in until I get there.

Now, while I never have played a KH game, nor do I plan to now, I can understand this feeling, whether it be with unintentionally stumbling onto one of the post-Infinity War profiles without watching the movie first, or seeing conversations about SU's Diamond Days in the Recent Wiki Activity, despite myself wanting to see it first.

My point is, I actually agree to postpone talking about KH3 for the suggested month, simply due to the nature of lengthy RPG's like that and the fact that people will have too much stuff going on in their lives to actually sit down and play the game to completion.

If TheGamersJoint (a YT known for being a pretty big KH fan) is anything to go by, KH3 could probably take around 50+ hours to complete or something, and I believe that includes not only the main story but also things like minigames and any possible side-quests or whatever KH has that can be akin to it.

Could be around under that but either way, that's a pretty big amount of hrs to take in.

I don't know Kingdom Hearts however I strongly agree with this.

Should have honestly done something similar for RWBY when Volume 6 was announced.

This should generally be applied to anything. I remember having Infinity War spoiled for me because of the revisions that happened immediately after the movie was released.

I feel like it should be applied at the behest of those interested in whatever verse it is (Some of us in the destiny group were reading some of the datamined lore before the DLC even had come out, and we were fine with that), but since the KH people seem to want this embargo it seems fine to me.

I'd also watch out with making blogs and stuff due to recent wiki activity. Google docs or something works as an alternative.

So thinking over it and talking with Ever, a month seems like the best and most preferable to do to try and cover, HOPEFULLY (as he said to me), on KH3.

I'm on board with him on there at least as do what Kaltias reasoned earlier.

Yeah, I was thinking of something like this too.

I'd be on board with that idea if others are with it.
