Okay, lets start with the biggest one, Witch Time.

Here- When describing Witch Time, it explictably says Time Slow, not time stop. Yes, you can stack it, but time slow =/= time stop. I honestly think this is either just not us sourcing a WoG statement of it acting like Time Stop. Because this is made very clear in game.

But even statements disagree.

As "Overseers of History," they possessed the ability to literally see everything in an instant, also known as Temporal Control. This technique sharpened all of the five senses, and pushed one's emotional energy to its very limits. It is a world where a falling drop of water can become a crown, and a humming-bird slowly and elegantly flaps its wings. Temporal Control is not just simply being able to recognize this world, it also enables one to boost their physical abilities and move freely within that single moment.(edited)

Temporal Control requires a sound body and mind, and complete grasp of Spirit Energy. While quite similar, the witches and sages each practiced this art differently, leading to different names for their respective techniques, Witch Time and Light Speed.

Does not say time stop.

And there honestly could be more, but this is just the surface.

If we are missing a source for time stop, it should be on their profile.

But game mechanics and statements say that it acts closer to time slow + augmented reactions, similar to Raiden from MGR.

Also, something small, while we do have great descriptions for bayonetta for her weapons, she has none for her items. We should probably fix that, as some are only in the powers and ability sections.

The above was accepted, so I am going to make a tldr for those who don't want to read.

Now we are debating if witch time effects the user or the environment.

In favor of just the user: UMR, Kepekly

In favor against: Weekly, Matt

I have used it before, but still.

Also, game play will be sourced later... I think

I just wanted to ask the question tbh.

I'll copy and paste my post for the second time.

For those questioning Witch Time being Time Stop, here.

One can find Time Stop feats as a possibility by looking at Lumen Sages whose Lightspeed is the Lumen version of Witch Time. Here is a source of they're Light Speed being Time Stop.

Here is a source of a fellow Umbra Witch stopping time.

This is shown in the countless examples of her Witch Time. Here is an example of her stopping time. Either that or she slowed it so far that it has almost come to a screeching halt. Weekly will still have to go searching, but at the end of said fight it appears time is stopped. Of course one thing that you may argue is that it starts of looking like the opponent is still moving. However, as we soon see, almost instantly we see them come to a halt.

@Dragon

I appreciate a direct source tbh, so thank you on that.

And the first three show... well, a very good time slow.

But I can concede the other two look time stop to me.

So a tldr is basically witch time is both time slow or time stop, depending on usage?

Witch Time IS NOT time stop.

The game calls literally states Bayonetta SLOWS time not stops it.

Only Lumen Sage can possibly stop time as we seen Balder do it many times when he freezes Bayonetta.

I literally just posted direct scans of it. The OP even conceded.

Witch Time isn't a time-stop, I'm planning to create a huge thread about this later depending on the outcome of this one.

Well.... there goes a simple answer.

I guess we can wait until Kepe make his thread?

I concede, but I will take a look at kepes thread.

The penultimate one is definitely time slow, you see a rock rotating

Witch Time is an internal time boost, not a time-stop. I have scans and will post the thread later since I'm still working with UMR to get all of them.

I'll let you all handle that then. Weekly can deal with it. Last time we had a Bayo downgrade, it was mostly mocking. I've posted my scan so I've done my part. Whether it's accepted debunked or not I don't care.

Lumen sage activates light speed after the bullets are fired, they aren't instantly stopped but they do slow to a crawl.

https://youtu.be/Lxx59ElBnLA?t=7

Even better time slowing

https://youtu.be/epm53w9mRNQ?t=67

Raindrops are still moving slowly here, you can see the clothing of the angels still flapping in the wind

https://youtu.be/GraxgGjYy-8?t=417

The lollipop is moving, the rocks are moving too.

https://youtu.be/GraxgGjYy-8?t=476

At 8:01 rocks in the background are still moving. "but at the end of said fight it appears time is stopped." don't see evidence of this but we can wait.

For the last one I don't see the rocks moving. It may be my vision though.

@Dragon

Look for these rocks when you play the video again. Everything else is too motion-blurred to detect but those stand out easily.

Also it should be noted that you can slow time to even an infinite degree, and it still won't be stopped unless we have concrete evidence detailing it as such.

See that I didn't know.

By the way, seeing what Unite said, I'm good with really good time slow.

Based on the official witch time description in Antonio's notebook, it's loosely similar to Kiritsugu Emiya 's time accel from F/Z.

The game itself doesn't mention anything about time stopping, and light speed is the polar opposite of the ability, only differing in the method used to achieve the same result.

I agree with Balder possibly having time stop based on that video.

However, the player uses LS which stops the attack, then immediately after uses witch time, which only slows the attack, barely.

https://youtu.be/Fucg9JyAQ_Y?t=36s

Meaning by clear evidence from gameplay as well as game lore, witch time =/= time stop (light speed).
