From what I read, Gildarts has to come into contact with the magic first. So, Yami precogs any attempt of him trying to nullify his magic whether up close or afar, dodges, stat amps+accelerated development, and Dimension Slashes. Assuming the Crash even gets past his passive forcefield.

Yami is going to have a hard time precog countering something Gildarts can employ it from any part of his body by thinking.

thats not true, idk what you are even trying to say.

gildarts magic ignore durability, any type of magic attack will simply get destroyed. forcefield isnt going to save him either, unless yami have resistance to powernull. gildarts can one shot him with crash, while dimension slash isnt even yami starting move

he can spread crash in wide area as shown here
Gildarts_uses_Crush.gif

And Dimension Slash was able to slice and destroy Vetto's forcefield, which could negate magic. Not only that but even Langris' erasure couldn't erase Dimension Slash

Add that to Accelerated Development, stats amp and precog, Yami is more likely the winner

It doesn't need to be a projectile to be dodged tho. That's not even like Yami never dealt with non-projectile/near unpredictable attacks too

Yami still doesn't have a way around hundreds of meters of aoe deconstruction that spawns on yami via looking.

Fight to the death doesn't mean the character will instantly use their most viable attack

They will still start with the attacks they use in-character but the fight will only end if one of them dies.

Gildarts doesn't kill in character unless he's up against someone absurdly more powerful like August. So he would have to be bloodlusted for this to make any sense.

He doesn't kill in character but it's not like he doesn't want to kill because of his standards (Like how Sanji doesn't want to fight women or only fight with his feet because he's a cook), is it?

Gildarts would realize that he won't be able to hit him with his punches because Yami predicts all of this, but Gildarts can break him without using energy attacks, so when he realizes that he won't be able to do this with punches he will obviously break Yami

vote on Gildarts

im not entirely cerain what your trying to say. can someone explain this?

meant that Gildarts will not be able to attack Yami with his physical blows because Yami has pre-cognition, so Gildarts would attack with his magic

You don't suddenly realize someone has precognition. Regardless, while Yami has no problem using Dimension Slash off the bat after seeing how dangerous an ability can be.

as Yami would always dodge his attacks it is obvious that he would try for his magic

he wouldn't even be able to resist All Crash for the first time

and as I said, Gildarts almost always starts using his magic, so there's no reason for him to go without

Dimensional cutting still needs a little preparation

it does take a second. in all instances of him using it, he always raises his sword and stands for like a second before using it.

First that's not a second when both of them are moving FTL

Second, Patry was already next to the portal before Yami uses Dimension Slash. And he was still able to hit him anyway
