Why did Beyonder have to give up a large amount of power to destroy Death?

So, in Secret Wars 2, it was stated many times that Beyonder was countless times more powerful than all beings in the Multiverse, so why did he have to give up so much power to destroy her? Could he just snap a finger and she's gone, because he is much much more powerful than her ?

Presumably due to inconsistency in the storytelling, or hyperbole elsewhere, or both in combination.

Probably because of death is just really hard to kill? like its not something new in fiction or even in marvel where there are exist being that just really hard to kill even if you many times stronger than she/he/it.

Actually the death is suposed to be inmortal above the logic, in the comif after he killed the death even with all his powers he could not kill nothing so he had to create enother death conclucion: the only way to kill death its by the death existence itself (even she kind of suecide with the power of the beyonder)
