Who is stronger Ultimate Gohan or SSJ3 Goku?

This is a question that many, myself included, have pondered before. It seems that both haven't fought enough opposition for there to be a clear answer, either that or they've fought similar opposition.

I wanted to hear what everyone else thought

Some will say Gohan while others Goku.But we won't true answer until someone asks that question Toriyama in one of his interviews

Its obviously Gohan. The fact that Goku was confident to allow SSJ 1 Gotenks fight Fat Buu showed how weak SSJ3 Goku is compared to Gotenks, Super Buu, and Gohan

Goku made many stupid choices in Buu saga,said many stupid things.So him saying anything is not good enough in Buu arc

Stupid choices? Thats... part of Goku's character by now, however, hes not an idiot who would send his son fighting without knowing he can fight back, power wise.

Same dude who first said,he can't beat Buu,then later he can,then again he can't then after all he would kill if he went for fast kill.His credibility in Buu saga is not good

Can't beat buu huh, assuming you mean fat buu. Goku said he wanted the kids to try to save the world. he always could defeat fat buu and possibly even kid buu.

He can't beat superbuu, hence why Gohan is stronger.

Saying that SSJ3 Goku never actually fought Super Buu, except for the version with Gotenks absorbed and he too was overpowered. Goku never fought Evil Buu as a SSJ3 but it was said Kid Buu was stronger and Goku could have beaten him if he'd gone all out from the beginning. However Ultimate Gohan never fought Kid Buu, so it's hard to tell who's stronger

Actually its pretty easy. SSJ3 Goku was confident SSJ Gotenks is strong enough to beat Fat Buu. SSJ2 Goku can't, as he stated, because he was equal to Majin Vegeta who lost. Which means SSJ3 Gotenks is > SSJ3 Goku. And we already know that SSJ3 Gotenks is < to Ultimate Gohan.

Debate settled.

Goku did not think he could beat Super Buu as an SSJ3, and thought fusion was needed. Goku would not force vegeta into fusion if he did not think it was necessary. Gohan casually curbstomped Super Buu. Ultimate Gohan is stronger.

He didn't want to make Vegeta useless by fighting as SSJ3 against Super Buu that's why one of reasons why he wanted to fuse,up until very end when Buu defused so then again he thought it's fair to fight 1vs1 without fusions.But like i already said,Goku done & said many stupid things in Buu arc

By this point, Vegeta already knows about SSJ3 and they stated that they disliked fusion, only reason they did it against Super Buu was because they didn't stand a chance
