Was the universe elimination arc inspired by Dragon Ball Multiverse?

Hello.

Has anybody else been following the online Dragon Ball Multiverse fan comic?

Within it, there are several universes/timelines with competing characters in a tournament.

Do you think that the current universe elimination storyarc was inspired from it?

Considering that I think that creators mentioned that they showed their fan comic to Akira Toriyama when they visited Japan, perhaps he thought that it was a good concept to use.

In addition, Dragon Ball Xenoverse seems like a game title created specifically to avoid being confused with the fan comic.

Not sure, I used to read multiverse whenever it updated but stopped because, well not sure.

But I could see it, this holds some resemblance to the current arc.

(Although canon completely shut down Vegito being a thing).
