Verse specific powers and physiology pages

We have a page for one of my favorite powers in verse, right here.

IMO, I think we should keep them if the power is broad and inclusive like the Force or Aura from RWBY.

If it is similar to like say, comparing DBZ Ki to Chi, then just use the latter page. Basically; only for stuff in verses that are like...

Super broad and sort of unique. Ki from DBZ is basically Energy Manipulation so it would be redudant to make a page for it.

Yes, agreed. I also think that we should keep the pages if they are prominent and broad enough.

Well, part of the point of these pages is to shorten down the powers and abilities sections descriptions.
For example, if a power/physiology "X" contains a number of abilities like levitation, precog, mind reading, healing, etc. In case all these abilities are granted to characters simply by having the power/physiology X, then simply mentioning "X" in their profiles would definitely shorten the section.

But how would it shorten the section when every other character only has a subset of these abilities? Like if a character A can only make use of precog and levitation through X, and B can only make use of mind reading and healing, then we'll have to list these abilities in their profiles respectively anyway. Simply writing X wouldn't cut it.

Well, I find it practical for us to feature more in-depth explanation pages for these concepts for the sakes of our visitors.

Pretty sure the concept of Stands are indeed JoJo exclusives. Stand powers and physiology within the context of JoJo don't exist anywhere else to my knowledge. Even Personas have their own system that differs from Stands.

Also, to answer AKM sama, I think verse specific powers pages should outline the basic mechanics of the ability in question and further elaborated upon on character pages. This gives visitors better insight into how the powers would work.

For example, The Force page should explain all the abilities Foce users should be able to utilize. Then on Darth Vader's page, we just put in what Force abilities he can use. This way we don't have to write entire paragraphs on Darth Vader's page as visitors can just visit The Force page to understand why and how he can use those abilities. Now think about every Force user and how much time and effort we save by not having to write out the same thing on every page. This would make adding pages more user friendly and accessible to new users.

That should be the exception, not the rule. Gintama is a comedy that parodies other shounen, I doubt Gintoki's Stand works on the same level and intricacy as JoJo Stands.

There is also Diesel

So is it fine if we keep these pages, and if so, should we remove the powers and abilities category from them?

Do we not have a category for verse specific powers yet? I just got a notification of this Phenomena Interventio page, and so did everyone following the P&A category.

So should we use the regular "Power and Abilities" category for such verse-specific pages, or add an alternative category instead?

No, he means that the pages themselves have P&A as a category

We could make a Verse Specific Powers & Abilities category. Part of me feels like this is redundant, but in retrospect it makes sense as verse specific P&A are just regular P&A with verse specific rulesets.

I'm for having a category of their own.

Well, on second thought I do not mind if they are included in the regular P&A category. There are not enough of these specialised pages to cause any harm or much confusion.

Personally I'm for putting them into a separate category.

There aren't many yet, but as time goes on there will inevitably be more ones we establish that they can be made. It's good to keep a clear overview on which abilities are for general use.

Okay. I trust DontTalkDT's sense of judgement.

What should we call the category?

Okay. Would the rest of you find that acceptable?

Okay. Thanks.

Anyway, should we apply the category change for the above-listed pages?

Okay. I will do so.

Perhaps the Speed Force from DC and Arrowverse might also classify as a worthy Verse-specific power? Especially in the latter adaptation's case, seeing as users of the Speed Force (Speedsters) are quite abundant there.
