Venom Profile Cleanup

Your main objective is not making the wiki popular?
You should reread if that was your main take away from Ant's position.
I think this is more of a recency bias issue rather than some new issue. It wouldn't take a long time to find examples in every era where someone got some one note power up for an arc that made them Tier 2 or 1, only to lose it right after said arc.

On one hand the keys are usual legitimate for that specific power up. Most people are 4-B when amped or Low 1-C, or Tier 2, or whatever. But we shouldn't just knee jerk add a key for someone every time it happens or we'll start to run into large issues.

I say just put up a restriction on keys and we allow them if needed for scaling or if someone can prove that they're big enough to be included. As an example Red and Blue Superman lasted for multiple years and has call backs still. Including that as a key is fine. Batman on Metron's chair however, only appeared in like one arc and he didn't use it much so that shouldn't be a key.
Agreed 100% with this, btw.

Your main objective is not making the wiki popular?
It already has over 570,000 individual visitors per month, and if we ever get our infobox-adding project finished to drastically improve our Search Engine Optimisation and mobile viewing compatibility, that will likely increase drastically.

However, my main objective is to make the wiki as accurate and well-organised as possible, and to help create a friendly and collaborative community.

Another objective is that I think that it is beneficial to awaken an initial interest in spiritual and perceptional self-improvement in the public at large, and getting interested in how our higher tiers work is hopefully one path towards that, but I may be hoping for too much in that regard.

I can attest to its efficacy at that!

Anyway, I also strongly agree with Qawsedf234.

We should probably add some more explicit instructions regarding this to our Marvel and DC Comics regulations page.

Idk maybe something like
8) Keys about one issue or single story arc forms: There is a long history of comics giving various characters special or temporary power change for the basis of a story arc or event. Giving characters a new key for every single specialized power increase will overload profiles, so its been decided that only the notable power changes will be kept. Those changes being forms they kept for multiple years, forms that are important for a character's storyline or forms that are used to get a tier for other characters. Forms being added to a profile is a case by case basis and should be decided in a CRT if its notable enough to be added.

Thank you. It is a nice draft, although we also need to include some explanation about that we also need some sort of at least semi-coherent consistency to pattern the character statistics from, given how extremely incoherent the power levels usually are, and given the fundamental "everybody can fight everybody" principle of these verses.

People, what Ant is trying to explain is that the key is part of a greater issue with Marvel where characters will randomly get one-off power ups based on the plot of the week, just for it to not be elaborated nor referenced again. With such a large history and continuity issues, that not many series share (so all the examples presented aren't exactly equivalent to it), allowing this instance would set a precedent that he wants to avoid.

While I don't agree 100% with it, at least I understand the greater issue.
Problemis Venom has had this 'powerup' for now three full storylines and its th culmination of years of storylines building up to him getting this powerup

I mean... If they never bring it up or even mention something this important, hard to say he still have it. For the record, I do wish he still have it - it was a neat upgrade, but hard to say since he didn't do anything with it. So, who knows if it's gone.

Yeah. Or if it really needs to exist we should clarify why it should exist.
Just a quick look through the profiles, under that guideline, batkek loses his Darkst Knight keys, doom loses both his secret wars and god emperor keys, and joker loses his emperor joker key as well correct? Seeing as these are all also temporary and last barely a single storyline.

Under my proposed guidelines only Joker would lose his keys and maybe Doom. Something happening for a single issue and not being relevant again would be cause for the removal. Darkest Knight being the cumulation of an event comic that appeared in multiple issues warrants a new key.

but yeah I could see a few things going to hell with Doctor Doom losing two keys and Joker losing his Emperor Joker key, that existed for less time then legion I might add, and Darkest Knight going poof if it lasted for less then 10 issues

Yeah, Doom should definitely lose that key. He didn't even do much with that power (original SE)

Again, Venom had the Captain Universe upgrade for one issue, and that's it. That is not remotely enough to form a reliable consistent pattern to scale from.

I am also uncertain whether or not he kept the codex power-up after using it to defeat Carnage.

Wonder Woman seems to have kept her Perpetua powers after defeating The Batman Who Laughs, but I do not mind if we remove that statistics key as well.

Doom can probably get rid of his temporary power-up keys as well, yes, but they were both very significant events in Marvel history that have been referenced quite a lot over the years, and more self-evident in terms of scaling.

well, what i said still stands, if you think that we should keep OG SE then thats fine, but GE Doom should probably stay, considering he has really evident scaling

Original SW Doom also has very self-evident scaling, given that The Beyonder's feats are scaled from two long storylines controlled by Marvel's then editor in chief.

Should also mention that the writers confirmed that theyre going to be pushing Venom to becoming close in power and character to his counterpart in The End

guys, why are there no achievements from the Venom: The End comic in Venom's profile? At least separately. If my memory serves me, then there were even higher dimensions indicated.

Venom: The End features a character from an alternative future timeline, not the main incarnation.

I think that we already have a profile page for him.

@Qawsedf234

Anyway, about what I wrote above...

@All

Also, which extra statistics keys for Marvel and DC Comics characters should we preferably remove?
