Unconventional Resistance Question

Hello, I have a question about if a case would be an "unconventional resistance".

In a scenario where characters are already being affected by another character in a similar fashion/same ability would that give the character themselves a resistance to said ability? Main example that I'm trying to ask about being:
  • Character A is mind controlled into turning into a different version of themselves by Character B, keep in mind Character A keeps his mind manipulation active on said character at all times;
Would Character A have "Unconventional Resistance to Mind Manipulation" as one would need to overpower Character B's current mind control/manipulation to affect Character A?

I'm short on sleep so lmk if I misunderstand but this should just be conventional resistance, we denote unconventionality to abilities when they are inherently functioning in a way that operates outside the norm (as the name would suggest) a very good and common example of an unconventional ability would be if within a verse the mind and souls of characters were composed of fundamental information rather than being normal minds or souls, in this way they'd automatically have resistance to applications of mind and soul manip that don't operate at a similar level, in a way that they can't really be bypassed by more layers of conventional mind or soul manip

Well yea, wouldn't this be one of those cases since their "resistance" doesn't really come from them having a resistance but someone else's manipulation?

Additionally, would the layers of said resistance depend on the layers of the mind manipulation that the character that controls them has?

Hmm, I suppose it'd be somewhat similar to Alphonse from FMA then, in which case, unconventional resistance is probably most fitting yeah

Well atp, it'd be less about layers and more about range, layers would be irrelevant if they were unable to target the mind of the character that controls them without feats, though whether they'd require layers to then affect the guy who controls the other character, would depend on said characters own layered resistance or lack thereof

This seems less related to Character A, (as they for all intended purposes do not resist mind manipulation, since the feat only occured because they were mind controlled in the first place) and moreso Character B's mind manipulation. Character B's mind control is too powerful for someone to overpower normally.

I would personally index this as mind manipulation for Character B, and note in the reasoning that it's so powerful that another mind manipulator could not overpower it's control on someone. I think depending on context you could probably get layered mind manipulation in some instances, but that's context reliant.

Yes, that's one way to index Unconventional Resistance.

If character B and character A are from the same verse and character B mind-controls character A, then if we introduce a cross-verse battle with character C, C will have to overpower B's pre-existing mind-control.

And if B has, let's say, 2 layers of Mind Control, character C would need to be able to overpower that before he can bring character C under his own control.
