Unconventional Resistance Question

Hello, I have a question about if a case would be an "unconventional resistance".

In a scenario where characters are already being affected by another character in a similar fashion/same ability would that give the character themselves a resistance to said ability? Main example that I'm trying to ask about being:
  • Character A is mind controlled into turning into a different version of themselves by Character B, keep in mind Character A keeps his mind manipulation active on said character at all times;
Would Character A have "Unconventional Resistance to Mind Manipulation" as one would need to overpower Character B's current mind control/manipulation to affect Character A?

I'm short on sleep so lmk if I misunderstand but this should just be conventional resistance, we denote unconventionality to abilities when they are inherently functioning in a way that operates outside the norm (as the name would suggest) a very good and common example of an unconventional ability would be if within a verse the mind and souls of characters were composed of fundamental information rather than being normal minds or souls, in this way they'd automatically have resistance to applications of mind and soul manip that don't operate at a similar level, in a way that they can't really be bypassed by more layers of conventional mind or soul manip
