Um no. There is no listed mechanic or anything it could be without being blatant headcanon. The ability is "you cast this and the target is now hurt." There is no stated mechanism, so dura neg was the best option.

By the way, that Josh asked me about this, I agree that simply Durability Negation Resistance is pretty broad, there's countles ways to do so, even in Anima there's few: effects that force the character to pass a VR, DR, PhR, PsR, MR and Presence Resistance check, Damage Energy, attack in ENErgy, instant critical hit, reduce Armor Type and even elevated damage could be considered Durability Negation, and the last 5 can't be resisted (but naturally, can be avoided).
