The Ruckerverse (also called Transrealist) is an interconnected series of sci-fi books from the 1980s-1990s, made by the mathematician Rudy Rucker. This verse once had profiles here in vsbw (around 2018-2019) but it was deleted due to poor quality (from what I remember at least). I think it's time to bring it back.

The supreme being of the verse, the White Light, appears/is mentioned not only in its titular book but also in others.
Considering the requirements listed in the Omnipotence page, the White Light seems to qualify for Tier 0.

I mean, it was written by a mathematician. They're the ones who invented/discovered (depends on your philosophy of what math is) all this shit, we just used it for our own purposes.

You can probably add this:
Contradictions are logically impossible,” I explained. “A universe containing contradictions cannot exist.”

“Glub gazork,” said the mermaid. And then she did something very strange. She lifted up her arms and…didn’t lift up her arms. At the same time. She winked/smiled at Harry/me. The sprite pinched my cheek with both hands. Yet at the same time she was tickling Harry.

“You see?” said the gnome. “Who are you to tell the universe what it can do.

White Light is beyond contradictions.

I know a certain someone would be funny from seeing this thread but anyways I fully agree although my vote means nothing :p

I’m surprised the verse went this long without a revival attempt, since it would have been tiered really high even before the revision and is pretty well known to powerscalers

I’m not an expert, but it looks good

Should the profile be called God instead of White Light?
"God" feels too generic, even if technically not a wrong name for it. "The White Light" brings an air of originality and iconicness to it.

It will also stand out among the other Tier 0s who are just called "God ([Insert name of the verse here])"
I edited the sandbox a bit, if you don't mind. Nothing substantial, just scrubbing off some redundancies and fixing formatting.
No problem
(Do you plan to make profiles for the rest of the verse, btw?)
Yeah, mainly Babs and some other aliens.

I think adding this as justification for White Light's omniscience would be a good idea.
I am, as it were, an eye that the cosmos uses to look at itself. The Mind is not mine alone, the Mind is everywhere.

I agree with the White Light profile. I agree on High 1-B+. However, I was curious about the abstract concepts of logic, math, and space and how the aliens are beyond that. So I argue Low 1-A can be placed for the verse ie beyond dimensional existence in a quantitative difference.

Low 1-A:
A complicating factor is that the aliens have control over paratime, so that each group’s visit to Earth ends up being split up into a few dozen or even several hundred events that are dispersed along the human timeline. This is Earth, Air, Fire, and Water,” I told Harry. “They’re elemental spirits. Gnome, sprite, goblin, mermaid.”
“What about all the others?” asked Harry, sticking his head out through our broken windshield. There were zillions of other bright beings, darting and dancing as far as the eye could see.

“Those are all us, too,” said Earth, the gnome. “There’s only one of me, but I weave back and forth through all of space and time.”

“Me first,” corrected the goblin. “Only me in the wee, wee start.”

“I come before the start,” said Air melodiously. “I am the framework.”

“Wa glub,” said Water, waving a slack hand at the other three and then at herself. “Gaga me.”

“She means that she is logically prior to all of us,” said the sprite. “In the sense that form and becoming are more basic than substance and being.”
“Where are you from?”

“I am everywhere; beyond all space, and within the tiniest motes. I am any size that wants me. You called me here.”

I don't think anyone was proposing anything for High 1-B+/Low 1-A tho?

I'm for Low 1-A, but the draft page states:

Despite its non-chalant nature, as well as its protagonists mostly composing of normal humans with no powers, the Ruckerverse consists of quite complex structures, ranging from extra temporal dimensions, infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces, transfinite realms that encompass all alephs and inaccessible cardinals that physically exist, and so on. Characters in the setting range from Human level to High Hyperverse level+, with the Supreme Being sitting at Boundless.

Alright.

Looking at all this, I don't really have anything to say. I agree with Tier 0.

For the matter, I think High 1-B is pretty straightforward as well. Mount Om seems like it's Low 1-A, too.

I'd go over the Elemental Spirits, but given how they're described I suspect they'd probably be higher than Low 1-A. Would require another thread, methinks, maybe.

The book from where that quote comes from is not part of the Ruckerverse, so it cant really be used sadly. Though, Rudy does like to squeeze in his view of the White Light/God in unrelated books whenever he has the chance, so I'm not sure if it could be used as a sort of WoG...probably not.
However, I was curious about the abstract concepts of logic, math, and space and how the aliens are beyond that.
Just a minor nitpick, those abstract concepts are already aliens themselves ("Aliens" in the ruckerverse dont have a fixed tier, some types of aliens are stronger/weaker than others).

I see. So what books are 100% canon?
Would infinity and the mind be canon?

Checked the pages and looks fine, i did a very minor changes to match our standards in the range and stamina section, and given that Ultima seems to have no issues with the tiering then seems fine.

And I think the cosmology blog should be converted to a regular page along with the others explanation pages.
