Not entirely true. The fact composite human it's there means the staff there could in theory hold profiles in similar magnitude to composites and their repective matches. It's just I'm not sure if it would even be practical to place stuff the besides the fanfic comedic verses.

Not to mention you can have regular matches there. One guy had a match between Mr. Burns and the Gingerbread man just by contacting several users. Although the low amount of users there for some reason bugs me since we litterally have profiles people want to genuinely engage there, and yet one silly assumption for composites and low traction just ruins everything there.

Not to mention, it's implied by users here they like comedic verses. I'd be very disappointed to see stuff like SMG4 fall into the same assumption for composites that they're "gone" when they're litterally still there to engage with.

It's a case by case thing. There's not really a hard outline surrounding that standard. Stuff will be reviewed.

What Ray said about allowing comedic pages to stay, IS a suggestion and you kind of ignored it. We just want to have fun not write ourselves to death. Like Ray said, "You don't need to be serious all the time to have a good story." Just get rid of the Skibidi toilet and low-quality stuff and we'll be fine. Isn't that what you're already doing? All this talk to MAINLY index the characters instead of debating and stuff (Which kind of goes against the big WELCOME thing in the main fcoc page), If you want that there are LOTS of other wikis willing to do that. So let the comedic stuff stay, and we can keep the good written standards and stuff.

I think what we who aren’t the staff really want is a site friendly to all OC/FC characters with at least a hint of quality. Of course not every character is very deep, but comedy or just lacking info shouldn’t be a reason to straight up leave them in the dust. It’ll just leave a bad taste in our mouths when some of our pages are gone due to newly established standards. I think the best course of action to just remove stuff like Skibidi Toilet and some bad Sonic FCs for example which lack much substance and/or are being officialized. While keeping the stuff that has been around and is widely used/liked like Death Battle.

On that topic, I know you want to set good standards, higher than VSBW. But sometimes things aren’t a certain way because they wouldn’t work as well. There are plenty of pages on vs for official characters who appear in crossover games like Joker in Dragalia Lost or Sonic in SMT. While they strongly resemble their canon counterpart, it’s still interesting seeing the changes in their abilities, power levels, and whatever other traits. Just like how Death Battle tries to replicate characters’ base traits and abilities while putting a new spin on them to see how effective they’d be in a no holds barred fight to the death. The amount of great writing, action, and touching character moments in episodes is astounding and it feels sad and maybe even a little disrespectful to put that to the wayside just for these new standards.

So basically I just want stuff without much quality or meaning/fun to be had with the character out while old stuff that have those things including more comedic characters stay. Of course newer pages can be made to abide by the new rules, but not giving a chance for older pages to adapt and outright being rid of them is highly problematic and will make me and some others I know enjoy being in this community far less.

I would suggest not being too strict on how Fan characters are treated comparable to their original. Since well FC/OC wiki is basically vsbw but FC/OC edition so these fan characters should just be treated as unofficial alternative versions of the originals also I don't really think they should have sections of personality and other things at all since they're not OCS (I'm talking about non-fcoc user fan characters btw)

To be fair, I initially had some ideas on the comedy front. But judging by what's going to be allowed here, at best, verses that do have some comedy but isn't the primary or majority focus would at best need staff approval by some process like something small (I can't really tell honestly aside from an insignificant staff eval thread) in-case some verses do stray the line. Even then, I don't think anything else is needed, but I haven't read the more recent comments, so I'll read those comments before pressing further

Technically, composite tree was a certified meme profile since well... it's a literal tree. I could literally dig up the reply of Jaften's thoughts on it; he thinks it's a joke profile much like users had during the profile's prime (like think about trying to do fair matches against a literal tree). Although this could be just a simple case study not representative of the whole.

This has been the standard on the wiki's front page since 2015. We are just enforcing it.

Develop pages that lack info in sandboxes before releasing them. Or sandbox and develop them when they are marked by staff.

It's not like those pages are gonna suddenly be banned. You just have to get them up to standard. Some users have already done this. Such as in the case of that Jeff profile I posted before.

Death Battle lacks substance (Outside of Wiz and Boomstick), so that would be a double standard. We'd like to avoid that.

This has also been against the rules of FCOC since ancient times. Making characters who are just the canon but weaker/stronger, I mean.

It would just result in us having to deal with hoards of extremely uncreative FCs, which invalidates a lot of the quality standards we are trying to enforce in the first place.

Users could also justify it by saying things like "Well Death Battle is allowed!" and such, too. Better to avoid that all together.

So basically I just want stuff without much quality or meaning/fun to be had with the character out while old stuff that have those things including more comedic characters stay. We will give every page marked for deletion a grace period (During which you can edit, sandbox, move, etc). And again, they won't necessarily be BANNED. They'll just be deleted.

Users will be free to update them and propose them for a place on the wiki again, if they want.

I created the site so I could unironically powerscale Old Spice commercials because I got banned when I tried doing that on VSBW. If people want to seriously analyze unserious shit on the site I have no problem. If people want to go full on memes and have the profile be total nonsense I also have no problem. I allow other admins to have some discretion on basic quality control, but my personal philosophy has always been for it to be as lax and nonrestrictive of a place as possible

Another wiki may just outright not be needed in this case.

Many of our more unserious profiles and other disallowed content can probably go to JBW and be indexed perfectly fine there.

And JBW actually has its own forum, unlike even Alt Battles. So matches and everything else people still want would also be cool.

Wait, so how much of a logical story or Canon does a comedic verse have to be to qualify (for FCOC material or not)? SMG4 technically does have a canon through it's arcs. And while I can't remember which episode, one of the arcs made the old episodes canon and another basically destroyed the old castle the gang has historical used in-canon
