I recently completed this recalculation of a slow motion feat to correct for a disregard of the apparent timeframe in the original calc and a previous attempted recalc.
Since then, a CGM has issued a comment blocking the recalc and upholding the original error. I have created this thread in the hopes of getting that overturned seeing as they don’t seem interested in revisiting it.
Some context for slow motion calcs:
The official calculations page lists this formula for calculating slow motion feats:
(real speed of reference object / apparent speed of reference object) * apparent speed of object of interest = real speed of object of interest
However both the original calcs and the CGMs treat the “apparent speed of the object of interest” as simply the distance covered. This effectively assumes the apparent time is 1s. However the actual apparent time is 3.5s. This has resulted in the previous calcs and the CGM’s attempt inflating the speed by a factor of 3.5.
Could I get some help here?
