T-Rex upgrade Dino Crisis

So, this site puts a door-sized blast door {4ft wide x 6ft tall} (rated for 50 PSI explosions) at 1,700 lbs (771.107 kg). The door in the video is probably twice as wide, so assuming comparable thickness, that would be 3,400 lbs (1,542.214 kg). Let's double the height, just to be safe (since the Rex could go through the door), that's 6,800 lbs (3,084.428 kg). It also looks to be about twice the thickness, so let's double that...now we're up to 13,600 lbs (6,168.8562 kg). That's Class 10 (by eyeball).

So we could probably eyball it to 5m then? Okay... 6ft is 1.8288 m, 5 m / 1.8288 m = 2.734 times taller. 13,600 / 2 = 6,800 * 2.734 = 18,591.2 lbs / 2.205 = 8,431.38 kg (Class 10)

I'll calc 6 m also. 6 m / 1.8288 m = 3.28084; 6,800 * 3.28084 = 22,309.712 lbs / 2.205 = 10,117.78 kg (Class 25) {Just Barely}

It looks like he had to crouch a little to get through the door, but I'm fine with either estimate.

Chemist Kyle's calculation should preferably be moved to a blog, but it looks reasonable.

Okay, let's scale it from that. That door is 32" wide x 72" tall and weighs 2,100 lbs. Scale up to 84" wide (8ft) and 196.85" tall (5 m) or 236.22" tall (6 m)

84 / 32 = 2.625; 196.85 / 72 = 2.73403; 236.22 / 72 = 3.28083

5 m tall door = 2,100 lbs * 2.625 * 2.73403 = 15,071.340375 lbs / 2.205 = 6,835.075 kg; If we assume the blast door is twice as thick, that's 13,670.15 kg (Class 25)

6 m tall door = 2,100 lbs * 2.625 * 3.28083 = 18,085.575375 lbs / 2.205 = 8,202.075 kg; If we assume the blast door is twice as thick, that's 16,404.15 kg (Class25)

We could probalby use this one as it actually gives the dimensions of the door (thickness notwithstanding) to upscale from.

Okay. I'll do a quick fix. It'll still be Class 25 though.

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to list the height/length on the profile.
