Haven't looked at it myself in-depth. Is Nintendo trying to erase Rare's DK design? If so, that deeply angers me.

It's just a design like the og DK in MK SNES. Not any different from how Mario in Wonder looks more like his classic NES self art.

Less a design change and more a stylistic choice for one game.
Probably anyway maybe this is monkey game erasure, who knows, doubt it tho.

Yeah atm I don't see them using the design for all his apperances, they're still using Rare DK for Nintendo World. Lotta people saying they might have DK look the way he does in the new MK for Mario games and stick with good ol' Rare DK for his own games (Y'know, when he gets outta remake and HD remaster hell). Have to wait and see.
