Original timeline Sub-Zero
Vol 3 Weiss Schnee

Speed equalized

  • Sub-Zero: 4 (BruceTheBatman, Laughing Manson, Theglassman12, Chasek479)
  • Weiss: 11 (WeeklyBattles, Starryknight200, Nico-v11, KinkiestSins, DeathReaperX, ROLVeBloxxer, Sir Ovens, Gargoyle One, Knightofannihilation666, Kellex, Huesito88)
  • Inconclusive:

Sub Zero via vastly superior fighting skills, superior strength, and simply being a more ruthless fighter. He's overall the more lethal one.

Weiss is faster and has more versatility. I give it to her.
1) Speed is equalized

2) While that is true, there's really nothing Weiss has that Sub-Zero hasn't seen to at least a modest degree, be it summoning or her (pretty weak) healing. Sub-Zero's intangibility hax is a big edge in his favor

1) My fault for not seeing that lol.

2) I would make an argument of her time dilation and gravity dust but read up on the rules and saw that speed equalized neutralizes their effects (wasn't sure if attack speed or speed being enhanced was included). With that being said gotta give this one to Sub-Zero.

Why would equalized speed nullify gravity dust? And Sub-Zero's intangibility has to be manually activated, leaving him open to an attack.

Oops, I meant her gravity glyphs that she uses to boost her speed. Kinda tired atm sorry.

Weiss still has fire, wind, and cyan Dust to counter basically all of Sub-Zero's ranged attacks, a lot more mobility with her Dust Glyphs, Gravity Dust/Glyphs basically allow her to ragdoll him from a distance, she has AoE healing that doubles as an AoE ice attack, and while she cant fully summon, Volume 3 Weiss is able to partially summon parts of the Arma Gigas. Plus, Weiss' ice dust and glyphs would very likely allow her to just manipulate Sub-Zero's ice attacks themselves.

Wasn't sure about her manipulating Sub's ice since I only seen her create it instead of manipulating existing ice. I could be wrong.

The rest of your reasoning seems legit but she only managed to do it once in Vol 3 and it took quite a bit of time and effort on her part. Plus, she never used it in combat.

She manipulated existing ice multiple times during the Vytal Festival Tournament
Nevermind then. With this and what you previously said this seems like a stomp in Weiss's favor. Only thing Sub has going for him at this point is his stamina.

Also, Weiss's Knight has a good history of one shotting other 8As.

How high is Zero again?

Just slightly below 700 tons. So 5 times stronger than Ruby when she first joined Beacon.

Sub Zero is far more skilled at using Ice combatively. Weiss uses it as a blunt instrument. Sub Zero uses it for freezing his opponent or controlling the fight in other ways, such as creating an ice wall.

Ranged attacks are countered both ways, as SZ creates walls (MK9)

Manually activated intangbility changes nothing, its still a potent ability Weiss has no answer to, at all.

She uses ice in combat, just far less than SZ, as its like, his maim thing

Also, idk about One Shot, simce Ruby is clearly stronger, albeit to an unknown extent, but SZ does have the power edge, likely over Weiss' knight, who he could dodge or go intangible, or just freeze it outright

@Bruce Weiss uses it for much, MUCH more than a blunt instrument. Piercing, freezing, trapping, and ice walls are all things she does as well. Honestly I cant actually remember Weiss ever using ice as a blunt attack.

She can easily get past a wall using her glyphs to make a spam ring like she did to Flynt in the tournament, and her fire and energy attacks can take down the wall relatively quickly. Gravity glyphs would just bypass it all together

Yes she does, gravity dust

Ice is her main thing too, she just has extra abilities as well

1) Fair enough, but SZ still has more experience using it

2) And SZ can easily get past that via intangibility

3) That doesn't counter intangibility. At all.

4) Fair enough, but SZ has dealt with most of Weiss' powers, and again, he has the DC advantage

So let's see here:

Sub-Zero: a better fighter, more experienced, higher base AP, ruthless

Weiss: LAUGHBLY more versatile, can one shot with summoning (there's no counter other than dodging or intangibility), actually quite a bit smarter, and aura let's her tank more and longer

This is a pretty close fight actually. So Sub-Zero turning Weiss into ice will get countered by aura. Sub-Zero will have an advantage throughout by landing more hits in (normally lethal blows will not kill her outright) and will not take long to take out her aura.

Got to give it to Weiss, she simply has more to work with. Can block, propel, and attack with glyphs. Using gravity she can literally just hold him in the air.

He has projectiles but they aren't special and can't spam or have as much range. She can play the range game and go at him continuously in a circle (intangibility will counter this though).

For her it'll be like fighting someone who uses ice dust and has intangibility as a semblance.

2 and 3) How does intangibility counter gravity manipulation?
Her glyphs wouldn't hit an intangible target

3) It doesn't, but I doubt gravity would much to a guy like SZ anyway, given he's vastly stronger than Weiss anyhow

Nico SNIP
1) Weiss isn't smarter than Sub Zero. At all. Her aura doesn't mean anything, it's all that gives her MCB dura, once it's gone she has pretty much Peak Human dura. If anything Sub Zero is the one who can tank more

2) Aura doesn't counter that. Normally lethal blows will absolutely kill, Aura only heals minor ones. If SZ shanks her in the throat, it's game over.

3) Blocking is something SZ can do with an ice wall, or his bare ******* hands (That Weiss can't do significant damage to). She needs to be able to concentrate when using glyphs, meaning Gravity won't help if SZ shoots her mid-glyph use.

4) Define "Special". He can totally spam them, and Weiss has never played the range game ever. Going at him in a circle, SZ could just use an omnidirectional attack (pretty sure he has those).

And is stronger than her, smarter than her (He's the Grandmaster of a Clan of ninja's. she's a wangsty Tsundere who once tried rushing someone with a similar strength, dura and power advantage (Glyphes and everything), and lost horribly. Said opponent didn't have SZ's combat skill, his freezing, his intangibility, his use of lethal techniques or even the same level of H2H skill), and he is simply a more ruthless fighter.

Lastly, the only thing that can possibly do significant damage to SZ is her summoned Knight, which possibly is weaker than SZ. but even if it wasn't, there's 3 problems with this argument

1) He could dodge the Knight, who is rather cumbersome comparatively speaking, and he has again, intangibility

2) Sub Zero could use said intangibility to punch out Weiss after getting past him

3) Sub Zero is not an idiot, and is a master martial artist. No expert fighter will let you put your guard down so you can summon. She's probably get punched in the face before she even was halfway through it

That's a big wall of text you just qouted Bruce. Never the less what summoning one shoots Sub-zero @Nico-v11?

Ok a couple of things

1. All characters in RWBY are MCB even without aura. Look at the fight between Mercury and Yang, after his aura went to 0 he got punched to the side of the head by Yang. If his durability wasn't MCB then his head would have been blown away.

2. Smarter, I'm going off their profiles so "skilled fighter" doesn't mean much in terms of intelligence

3. You shank her in the neck and her aura will protect her, making it a blunt hit

4. She played the range game against Flynt Coal and in Vol 5 (though not counting Vol 5 is fine since we're using Vol 3 Weiss).

I have more but my phone is about to die so I'll be back......
