At the start, Luffy attacks and Steven bubbles up. Luffy whales on the shield only to find it pretty much impenetrable. Both characters decide to wait the other out. Meanwile, Luffy will probably try to lure Steven out and Steven will probably try to talk Luffy down. IIRC Luffy's a pretty personable guy, right? Quick to make friends? This might just be a repeat of Steven vs Frisk.

The term is far too subjective to judge, tbh, but considering this is late-series Steven that isn't too unreasonable.

And for the spikes, it may work the first time but i doubt it will kill Luffy or even fatally harm him, while i think Luffy may have bigger chances to strike a lot of damage to Steven the moment he leave a open.

Luffy trying to punch spikes thousands of times more durable than himself as hard as he can is going to hurt a lot. Steven can literally just stay in the bubble until Luffy stops trying to kill him.
