I have bad news for you if you hate extended canon.
It's just going to become regular canon pretty soon.

I don't hate it, it is just is a little bit too difficult for my simple mind to work around

As far as I'm aware of, Extended Canon is just side plot that explains that the majority of the SCPs are just the products of like 15 eldritch gods' attempt to **** over/actually **** people with the help of like 5 different cults.
