I just saw Sonic X Shadow generation’s collectors edition set and my first thought was it was top tier

Then I looked at the price 💀

You know, one thing I saw on Twitter—Though it probably won’t happen—Is the neat idea of Generations getting updates/new stages after a new (separate) game release. Obviously not on par with a whole new title, like Sonic X Shadow, but more similar to Mario Kart 8’s bonus tracks. As Sonic as a game series develops, new stages are added to keep in line with Eggman’s attack on Past, Present, and Future, but also it helps keep Generations as an utter celebration of the franchise that it unabashedly is.

No not an outlier I just thought perfect chaos got utterly stomped by super sonic and therefore didn't scale to him. Now that we know metal overlord is beatable by base shadow PC may be closer in power to adventure super sonic than I thought he was.

You know what's nice about this? It's that SEGA is acknowledging a, to be honest, forgotten aspect of Shadow's identity where he has Black Arms DNA in him due to what we learn in Shadow the Hedgehog. And so logically speaking, being a hybrid and all that, Shadow would be able to utilize the abilities that the Black Arms can use.

So it makes me feel happy that SEGA isn't afraid to embrace the edginess of the 2000's and make something bombastically insane and cool like this.

I think it’s funny that canonically there’s just a random island in Sonic that generates magic radiation to give the Chaos Emeralds (whatever the plot needs the item™️) MORE POWERS as if the Emeralds couldn’t already just have them innately.

COUGH COUGH CYBERSPACE POWERS, NORTHSTAR ISLAND POWERS, ETC COUGH COUGH
I'm still so damn pissed about that. Even if they didn't want Super Sonic to be overdhadowed by Starfall Super Sonic in future instalments and that's why they didn't let him keep it, they could have just given the form a different drawback to ensure Sonic doesn't use it unless absolutely necessary.

Either Shadow's Doom Powers are so busted that they make him 1-C or Metal Overlord may need to be downgraded into Low 2-C (Looking back at the Sonic Heroes fight, were the emeralds even emotionally charged??)

I’ll be honest, the emotional charge thing feels a bit arbitrary and could probably apply to a lot of bosses, if you fanangle hard enough.

There’s this Overlord scenario, Perfect Chaos being described as fighting the full power of the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic Channel, Infinite being stated as the strongest Sonic enemy, and Werehog Sonic powering up Dark Gaia into semi perfect Dark Gaia (who has a downscaling chain to tier 1 super stuff) as well as critically damaging Semi-Perfect.
