In addition, its scope is modified to allow for her motion tracker to remain on her HUD even while scoped in.
  • M6H2 Magnum: Linda's sidearm for close to mid-range combat. It is a recoil-operated semi-automatic weapon with a twelve bullet magazine for precision fire.
  • ARGUS-class MJOLNIR GEN2 Armor: A variant of the latest MJOLNIR armor that's optimized for reconnaissance and information gathering as the most complex and sophisticated mobile information gathering device ever designed. It's equipped with passive cyberintrusion software, sensor cueing and filtering, a Battlenet control node to receive intel and real-time input and predictions from battlefront AI, and hardware-accelerated cyberlink connections to streamline the communication process. It is also equipped with all of the standard MJOLNIR armor specifications, including:
    • Biofoam: In case of significant injury, the MJOLNIR armor can apply biofoam, an artificial coagulant that disinfects the injury and temporarily stops hemorrhaging and bleeding, to the wound to keep Linda in the fight for a few more hours before needing to seek proper medical attention.
    • Energy Shielding: MJOLNIR armor is equipped with energy shielding that easily deflects small-arms fire and offers limited protection against high-powered weaponry and explosions. When depleted, Linda is much more vulnerable to damage, but it can be recharged over time by remaining unharmed and out of combat for a short period of time.
    • Force Multiplying Circuits: The armor is lined with circuits that greatly enhance Linda's reflexes and physical strength for improved accuracy and close-combat effectiveness. The sheer force produced by these implements can easily break a normal human's arm and potentially kill them from the shock, but Linda's augmentations allow her to fully utilize this feature safely.
    • Inner Skinsuit: A moisture-absorbing synthetic material with a neural interface that actively tracks Linda's temperature and controls the temperature of the armor while actively conforming to her body.
    • Magnetic Weapon Holder Strips: The MJOLNIR armor possesses powerful magnets that allow Linda to mount any weapon with magnetic properties on her back to leave her hands free for other tasks. In addition, the boots of the armor also possess magnetic properties that can be toggled on or off to allow her to maneuver along the side of magnetic surfaces even in zero gravity conditions.
    • Motion Tracker: The MJOLNIR armor is equipped with motion sensing radar that automatically tracks the position of Linda's allies and enemies relative to her position. However, it can be disabled if jammed with specialized equipment or submerged in saltwater.
    • Pressure Seal: The MJOLNIR armor is airtight, allowing Linda to operate in water-based environments and in a complete vacuum for a limited amount of time. However, it can be compromised if struck with a sufficiently strong force or if placed under extreme pressure.
    • Sprint Module: By overriding safety protocols, Linda can enhance her own running speed.
    • Titanium Nanocomposite Bodysuit: A thick, armored bodysuit sandwiched between the armor plating and the internal plating, it provides an additional layer of protection against ballistic attacks and is made from a heat-resistant material in order to disperse the heat from plasma weaponry. By linking to the MJOLNIR armor's fusion reactor, it can greatly enhance Linda's strength and agility.
    • VISR Database: The MJOLNIR armor is linked to the UNSC database that provides constant information updates to her heads-up display through her armor's neural interface, outlining allies in green and enemies in red to easily distinguish between them. In addition, important objectives and potentially useful objects and equipment are outlined in yellow. The VISR system also improves low-light vision and can provide constant updates on enemy positions.
Intelligence: A quiet "lone wolf" even as a young girl, Linda showed exceptional promise as a leader and intelligence agent, being singled out by the program for her superior mental and physical abilities as well as her initiative in setting up a makeshift "intelligence network" among her classmates to spy on her own teachers. She was then trained in all forms of military warfare, including hand-to-hand combat, firearms usage, stealth tactics, the operation of any number of military vehicles, and intelligence gathering. She is considered extraordinarily capable as a sniper even amongst her fellow Spartans, with the legendary hyper-lethal Master Chief commending her abilities as "art" for being able to easily assassinate two separate targets so quickly that he could not guess which one she killed first. She also managed to down several Banshees by hanging upside from a ledge and shooting their pilots with her rifle while firing one-handed, much to the awe of the other Spartans. As a member of Blue Team, she is also able to easily keep up with her allies in the heat of a firefight, proving to be a match alongside her squadmates for hundreds of Promethean Knights during the fireteam's raid on the Forerunner world Genesis while aiding Fireteam Osiris.

Weaknesses: After taking extensive fire, MJOLNIR armor energy shields must take time to recharge by remaining out of combat for a short period of time as additional fire will interrupt the recharging process, leaving Linda vulnerable. MJOLNIR shielding is also susceptible to blunt force attacks to the chest as well as electrical and plasma-based weaponry.

  • Wicked Butterfly: A RENOV-ICKX sniper rifle fitted with a laser sight for improved accuracy.
  • Sinful Butterfly: A BRENNAN LRS-46 sniper rifle that uses special hand-loaded ammunition packed with the maximum amount of gunpowder for severe stopping power.
  • Guilty Butterfly: A RENOV-ICKX sniper rifle that fires tranquilizer rounds at subsonic speeds for improved accuracy.
Intelligence: High (Unlike most Parasite Units, Quiet's Parasite did not alter her mind, allowing her to combine her already lethal skills as an assassin with an array of supernatural abilities. Even before she had been given her Parasite she was a deadly assassin, able to infiltrate a hospital and kill a doctor and nurse without even alerting them beforehand. After receiving her Parasite she only became more skilled, her stealth improving to the point that she was able to fake escaping a helicopter by turning invisible inside the helicopter and remaining hidden for several hours without Venom Snake ever noticing until she actively revealed herself. Her Parasite also granted her vastly improved accuracy and perception, able to spot individual blades on a helicopter when they were at full speed, which could combine with her speed to allow her to shoot in between them, a feat which impressed even Revolver Ocelot, saying that both of her eyes were "master eyes" in terms of focusing on a target, or multiple targets. She has also been able to accurately shoot an unguided bullet with pinpoint accuracy to kill a fighter jet pilot at a great distance, compensating for bullet drop and wind speed while both the jet and the helicopter she was in were moving at mach speed and taking evasive action, respectively, as well as shoot mid-air grenades so as to make them ricochet without making them detonate and guide a helicopter through a zero-visibility sandstorm by reading their flight path and predicting the slight adjustments theyd need to make to get to her. Quiet is also highly skilled in hand to hand combat, able to easily kill a group of Russian Soldiers while her hands were bound, she was mostly clothed, and she had just regained consciousness from drowning)

Weaknesses: Wearing too much clothing will cause her to suffocate, gradually removing her powers as a result. Saltwater burns her. If she communicates in English her Parasite will become a lethal contagious form that will force her to carry out her mission of killing Big Boss regardless of her wishes.

Pretty good match up here.

Anyway, I'll start by comparing their powers and abilities. Linda is only Building level+ with Nornfang, and doesn't even get the "+" sign otherwise. Same with the energy shielding against projectiles. Where as Quiet is Building level+ all the way through, so she's physically stronger. Additionally, she maybe on the higher end of the 8-C plus spectrum given the power scaling chain. Higher stamina, pain tolerance, and Regenerationn also do elaborate better survivability.

Now they both have generally the same abilities; marksmanship, hand to hand combat, ect. But Quiet also has better regenerative capabilities, and is a tad more haxed thanks to sleep manipulation. Biology manipulation and light absorption both sound more like things used more so for improved Regenerationn. Limited flight also gives her a tad bit more versatility. There's also Invisibility and limited elemental intangibility; the latter could help her quite a bit.

Now intelligence is harder to decide; they're both skilled snipers even for their verse standards. Linda was known for her combat skill to the point where even Master Chief looked up to her, and thought of her as the most level headed Spartan due to her Loan Wolf personality. However, I'm still giving the edge to Quiet here. Her intellect is comparable to the likes of Naked Snake and Ocelot, who are in turn comparable to Solid Snake. Solid Snake has an IQ of 180 and is arguably more tactical than Master Chief given he's been on more stealth missions with far less back up; as well as better hand to hand combat feats via going toe to toe with Gray Fox.

Now as for their own feats to back up the statements, Quiet has plenty of sharpshooting sniper feats and has successfully taken out entire armies in hand to hand combat as well. Linda is easily an excellent sniper, not that many CQC feats are shown from her. While it's debatable who's more skilled or stronger from a distance, Quiet is easily the one who dominates when they get close. But Invisibility and limited Intangibility as mentioned above could still give Quite the edge in both ways of combat anyway.

So in conclusion, but vote is on Quiet.
 
I will vote for Quiet too due to having a slightly better AP all around, and having more feats with sniping in the game.
 
From what I understand it's literally just via pushing something? And also they scale to Big Boss who fought a pretty tough guy who hasn't like 10 million bolts running through him.

Okay for starters, that Narutofourms calc isn't even in the + range. In fact, it's not even 2x the Spartans AP.

And how does "10 million volts" justify 8-C+? To my knowledge Volts/=/ joules.
 
Well technically not 8-C plus, just normal 8-C. Also you can actually convert volts into joules if my quick google search is right.

Also Naruto Fourms calcs tend to be messy, and have multiple results where one is not completely decided upon. It's much better for the verse if redone in a proper blog post.

I just tried that. Just 10 million volts is not enough. There's some other information needed to determine how much energy that current carries

I don't think there ever was any calc for the 10 million volts thing in the first place. I think someone just looked at a number and said "Yeah that probably justifies Building level+"

Unless you know the Coulomb of the guy that produced that electric current, it's completely unquantifiable.

Metal Gear scales from the attack potency of Lightning, which is 5 Gigajoules at bare minimum. There are a ton of scientific properties to prove that it is real lightning. And like many other fictional characters (and unlike naturally occuring lightning bolts IRL), Colonel Volgin actually does harness it in a way where the characters legit do scale from the full attack potency of the bolt. And it is consistent with other things such as Naked Snake's Class M lifting strength.

However, I should note that Volgin's lightning was recalc'd at 8-B, so this thread might be and outdated stomp. And that feat is super consistent with a weakened Raiden performing an 8-B feat with ease among other things. And the fact that Snake and Gray Fox were able to someone go toe to toe with Liquid Snake piloting Rex.

Sadly, the new calc was just accepted, so Quiet is about to be 8-B and this thread is very soon to be outdated. RIP.
