Senran Kagura: 6-C key for Yumi

Yumi should have a new key for how she is after Estival Versus, for her victory over Jasmine and in turn for fighting her again with her allies and winning again later in the DLC. This key would scale to Jasmine, tiered at 6-C. No other character would scale to it.

At the end of Estival Versus, which is chronologically the latest entry in the series aside from the water pistol game which actively disables the cast's powers, Yumi has a significant power boost after her interaction with Kurokage. After this power boost, the other main cast members are in awe of her new power and refer to her as almost a different person.

After she dominates the rest of the girls, she challenges Jasmine as shown here.

Yumi wins, with Jasmine admitting that Yumi overpowered her.

To add to this, the DLC final mission involves Yumi and the other 23 main cast members fighting Sayuri all at once, and in that mission a now freshened up Sayuri transforms into Jasmine again mid-battle, and the 23 of them beat her, with Yumi notably being the one who is facing her in the cutscene right afterwards.

Simply put:

Step 1: Yumi gets large power boost.

Step 2: The other girls, including Asuka and Homura who themselves have easy access to a 6-C form, are in awe of her new power, are dismissed as weak compared to her and subsequently lose against her.

Step 3: Yumi fights and beats a tired but still fully functioning Jasmine, a 6-C character.

Step 4: Yumi and the other girls beat Jasmine, with Yumi being the one shown facing her in the following cutscene. Whether Asuka or Homura use their super forms is up to player choice.

Conclusion: Yumi should at least compare to Jasmine, and to Asuka and Homura's Ultimate forms.

Using the Ultimate Shinobi Transformation is very taxing on the user. Jasmine was getting weaker and weaker the longer she fought and stayed in that form.

By the time Yumi fights her, she's far weaker than normal. She's vomiting up blood and can barely breath. She's very clearly not at the same level as when she started. I don't see why anyone would think she's kept the same level of strength after seeing the state she's in.

She's so weak that despite being challenged by an already injured Homura to another battle, she runs away after coughing up blood. When she battles the Hebijo students, she's in such bad shape that they're worried for her before the battle even starts.

Miyabi even points out that Jasmine fighting them is risky for her life. Jasmine knows that she's deteriorating, that's why she didn't waste time fighting Homura again.

By the time she gets to the Gessen girls, you can see she was damaged during her fight against Hebijo. And her health is even worst shape. This doesn't mean the Hebijo girls scale to Jasmine, it just means Jasmine has been weakened enough that they can fight her.

To prove my point. Jasmine fights the Hanzo students first, she transforms right in front of them. This means Jasmine is at her strongest.

After she beats the Hanzo students, Hibari states that none of them were even able to lay a finger on Jasmine. Meaning she completely stomped them. The Hebijo and Hanzo teams are comparable to each other. This is clear proof that Jasmine is weakening. Hanzo team couldn't touch her yet an incomplete Hebijo team damaged her.

I say incomplete because Ryona and Ryobi weren't there to fight Jasmine. As such, it wasn't even the full Hebijo team that damaged this weakened Jasmine.

By the end of the game. Sayuri fights all 23 students and is able to beat all of them. This includes the supposedly 6-C Yumi, despite her old self being far weaker than Jasmine. I'm aware it's possible for all 23 of them to defeat Sayuri. But all this means is that there's a chance for either side to win.

The fact that old Sayuri can defeat all 23 students at once pretty much confirms they're nowhere near her level individually.

Yumi even directly states that none of them stand a chance against old Sayuri in a one on one battle.

So no, I don't believe Yumi should scale to Jasmine in the slightest. It's made pretty clear the students, even by the end of the game, are vastly inferior to old Sayuri.

She was sick, specifically still afflicted with an issue she always has regardless of form. Not automatically enough for a 6-C to admit an 8-A (who just had a large power boost) overwhelmed her.

Sayuri is always sick with the condition that causes the coughing up of blood, Jasmine still has it. The coughing fits frequently cause issues. Jasmine's 7 gigatons is more than a million times higher than the 550 tons of TNT that the 8-A cast are measured at.

Right now you're asserting that the 6-C Jasmine was dropped to 8-A, more than a million times weaker, and inferior to her old lady form thus rendering the Jasmine form less than irrelevant, all because of some clothing damage and the exact blood coughing she always has.

The 1v23 fight with Sayuri is the very last thing that happens in the story. Regardless if the group wins or loses against her, Sayuri decides the festival is over and sends them home.

I'll check again. Seems strange given the twins beat Ryoki which should have made them more of a challenge. The two of them beating Ryoki would make them baseline Small Town level.

Edit: I checked it using videos (I'll know more when I check it out in-game), and it does seem strange. Sayuri says she's going to basically do the festival over at the end of the main game, making the DLC a bit of a strange attachment.

It's still strange for Jasmine's power level to drop by over a million times because of a sickness she always has and can keep going from with loads of caffeine.

I just replayed the final DLC mission. I think we should talk about the fact that both mission outcomes can't be canon, and the final one is the one where the 23 girls beat Sayuri. In that one, there's a very important detail: she ends up transforming into Jasmine at the end of that, and the 23 of them still beat her (making a recording to prove that now).

To add to that, while the gameplay involves playing it in rounds with each team leader taking a turn, in canon it seems very clear that the whole group fought at once, given that Yumi directly says they all fought at once. Even though Asuka is the one who faces Jasmine in gameplay, the one who is shown in front of her right afterwards still in a combat stance is Yumi.

So even the DLC finale features the 23 students beating a now fresh Jasmine, with Yumi placed up front.

Looking it over, Asuka is shown in the video as being in her ultimate state, note her green aura and how her hair is let down. I think that would dock points from your end of the table.

That's actually a gameplay decision on the part of the player, it isn't scripted. Proof here. Also, OP updated to replace that video with one where the player doesn't make that decision.

Considering this fight lines up with Yumi beating Jasmine one-on-one earlier, and follows a large power boost for Yumi that left the rest of the girls including Asuka in awe, it seemed likely to me that Yumi made up a lot of the difference here. The fact that Yumi is the one standing in front of her in the cutscene right afterwards definitely supports this, and we already know her power boost left the other girls in the dust, making her likely to be the most noteworthy combatant just based on that alone.
