Alright, so these are things that need to be brought to attention in regards to the current state of the DOOM monsters' profiles.

1. The Hell Knight and Baron of Hell are currently 8-C with projectiles due to being able to 'disintegrate human beings', and have had that info on their profiles since before the DOOMverse's recent revision. Problem with that is, I can't seem to find video footage from any of the games which shows this happening, nor can I locate any UAC Report Files from the 2016 reboot which would suggest that this is the case. What's more, their durability is rated lower than this, yet they're capable of tanking each other's projectiles fairly consistently. And other monsters with comparable stats to both can do the same.

2. Everything in the DOOM bestiary (minus boss-tiers) is either Subsonic or lower, despite being able to react to and keep up with Doomguy (and each other) in melee encounters. Some of these monsters are even capable of dodging the same plasmagun projectiles as Doomguy (albeit with somewhat less consistency due to AI-induced stupidity), so this makes little sense.

I think a couple of new revisions are in order in regards to these beings. Having exposed myself to the games again, I can't help feeling like there's something wrong here.

To be fair, disintegrating humans is actually only a 9-A feat. The calc that originally put feat at 8-C was actually the required enemy required to atomize humans; but simply vaporizing them is only 9-A. So personally, I think all the 8-C enemies should have their 8-C ratings removed and/or downgraded to Room level. This might affect some of Classic Doomguy's armor power ups excluding Berserk.

And yeah, I agree that all the faster enemies should scale to Doomguy's combat speed.

Is it really? I thought disintegration was only 9-A if bones were left behind.

Also, assuming these monsters were downgraded, we'd have to just about remove all of the Building level statistics from Classic Doomguy's key, as they would be unfounded. This would include AP with weapons.

To be specific, vaporising/disintegrating as in burning them until they turn to gas/smoke human is 9-A, but atomizing; as it reducing them to particles, is 8-C. But yeah, all the 8-C stuff should be removed from their profiles.

Well, in that case, we'll need something to base their stats on.

Revenant's missiles could perhaps work for all of the mid-tiers, since they can take a few hits from those and keep fighting. All of the lower-level enemies (Former Humans, Imps, Pinkies, etc) generally die in 1-2 hits from them, so they could easily be excluded from that.

Yeah, that sounds good. I suppose I could go ahead and start the edits. Or should I wait for a staff member to say it's alright?

We should scale Classic Doomguy with Combat Armor/Soul Sphere to those as well, since wearing both of those at once puts him roughly equal to the Cacodemon.

I might make a profile for the Rocket Launcher sometime in the near future as well. It's always been a lot stronger than Revenant's missiles, so having a profile for it on the wiki would help separate its projectiles from those of the Revenant. We could use that to scale higher-tiers such as the Arch-vile and the Baron. (Though those would still be around 9-A)

EDIT: I got edit-ninja'd, apparently. We should wait for staff input before we do anything.

Rocket Launchers are also usually 9-A, but a profile for it seems alright.

Actually, it would seem that most normal ones are 9-B. Of course, weapons in DOOM are usually much stronger than their real-life counterparts, so that hardly matters here.

But yeah, referring to what was said above, we should wait for staff input before we make any edits to anything.

Well, Anti-Tank RPG's are 9-A. But yeah, staff input seems important.

So, just to clarify here:

  • Mid-tier enemies will scale from the Revenant's rockets.
  • Higher-tier (non-boss) enemies scale from Doomguy's rocket launcher, which in turn will be rated higher than Revenant's rockets due to being several leagues stronger.
  • All of the faster enemies should have their combat speed/reactions scaled to Doomguy due to being able to dodge plasma just like him, as well as being able to land hits on him in melee situations. Slower enemies should probably stay as they are. Maybe.
I also think the lower-tiers being scaled to the Imp's melee attacks should be fine as it is. There's enough justification for that being the case.

I suppose that this seems reasonable.

So is it alright if if I perform the changes?

I would wait for other staff input, but it's been about ten days and nobody else has shown up to say anything.

I think that it should probably be alright, yes.

Went ahead and finished the edits. Feel free to close this if you want.
