Saint Seiya Discussion Thread (IV)

This is only the second most confusing thing I’ve ever read
Unconnected universes has no affect what is and isn't canon.

You can have 2 completely separated storyline in their own universe and have their own multiverse and be separated cosmologies, but both can still be canon. A common theme mostly in western comics. However dome western book series do this too. Le Modessit JR is infamous for doing this.

Every book series he writes is it's own storyline, canon, and even its own separate cosmology. But they are all still canon, and do take some liberties from each other in similarity of abilities.

The confusion comes from the difference of a connected universe vs a disconnected universe for the current saint seiya issue though. Not what is canon and what is non canon. People are confusing a disconnected universe with non canoncity when they aren't the same.

Edit: people are conflating disconnected/connected universes with canon/noncanon. Saying that if it's disconnected it must be non canon. Which isn't always the case.

What is the point of having verses coexist in the same greater setting if their cosmologies are different?

The semantics of canonicity at that point are irrelevant.

It's just an example albeit an extreme case but easier to use as an easy example.

Le Modessit Jr's series. He writes them all himself. Every book series is canon, but they don't share the same greater cosmology. He does this on purpose, but he also admits he does use certain elements from other series that he has written and adds them into the storyline.

Thus they are all still canon, but separate cosmologies. Also not connected to each other.

I'm not using Saint seiya as an example here. Because all the Mangas are canon and exist in the same multiverse. The contention was the GR/ND issues. People arguing that it makes one non canon and the other canon.

I'm saying that staff elaborated more, and im paraphrasing what they said

Their no longer a connected universe, exist in the same multiverse, and they are still canon

Edit: staff also admitted tge wiki has an issue with people conflating disconnected and connected universes with what is and is not canon in non multiversal settings.

Any examples of verses that have this logic in the wiki? (I'm not familiar with Le Modessit Jr's series)

There it is let's go another 18 years!
I did a breakdown of everything Kurumada drew over the past 18 years and found that if he was exclusively doing Saint Seiya, Next Dimension would have only taken 10 years to do. He isn't doing multiple manga simultaneously currently, and has become more willing to let assistants do the work (He didn't drew a single page for Next Dimension's last 16 chapters).

So maybe this will be faster.

he had help drawing toward the end if ND. Izo Okada and another person came out and said that.

So I imagine he will here too

Question for you Matt. Where did you rank Agyo and unagyo

What are your thoughts on Next Dimension overall Matt, did you think Kuru cooked?

This gif would be perfect if you still had your Mr. Krabs Classic Pontos pdf 😡

Destroying all the stars and planets in the Milky Way wouldn't be outright 3-C? At the very least it seems to be Multi-Solar System level+ instead of just regular 4-A

Need a calc to support those ratings. Good luck having one evaluated and accepted this century.

I mean most of the galaxy is stars and planets, you'd be leaving behind black holes.

Iirc, if you destroy >50% of the galaxy that's enough for a + modifier.

Iirc destroying a neutron star at the edge of the galaxy is baseline 3-C

I don't believe we include Black Holes when talking about destroying a galaxy, for how we even got the standard baseline of galaxy AP Values

"3-C: Energy equal to or above what is needed to overcome the GBE of the Sun with an omnidirectional blast with the point of origin of the blast beginning at the core of the Milky Way Galaxy and the Sun being located at the edge of the Galaxy."

Not accepted. Changing aby of those statistics formaling is impossible without a ridiculous amount of scientific law

nah, it takes 4-B AP in most cases. it also depends on how fast the neutron star is spinning
I think they're assuming it's done by an omnidirectional attack from Earth but more interestingly, the energy needed to destroy a star is dependent on how fast it's spinning?

I don't have a problem with anyone and you involved an entire server with your problems when it was convenient for you
It seems like you have a little problem with me, you can't get my name out of your mouth, man, here's what you do, stop making jokes about me and stop gossiping about me, then I'll stop answering you.
