I believe Raven isn't dying period this volume nor is she getting close to dying this volume.
Cinder isn't getting the Spring Maiden powers this volume either.
Salem might still get the relic since we know Raven is open the vault.
I'm going to be honest, them killing of Raven right now seem just as unlikely as Weiss dying (To me that is) and I am dead serious right now.

Again just because a character dies doesn't mean their story won't be told. Perfect example would be Ace from One Piece, nobody thought he was gonna die yet he did and they went over his story over the next episode. My theory is that Raven is either gonna die or get seriously incapacitated by Cinder ( Obviously not without a fight.) Then again this is just a theory. For all we know anything could happen.

Ace was CLEARLY going to die the signs were all there ever since he was captured.
I just find it really hard to believe Cinder can kill Raven... but then again I couldn't believe Ozpin died to Cinder but he did so there's that. (I've been wrong before and I can accept that)

Also do the RWBY girls getting the Maiden powers really seem like a good idea? I always thought that they were setting it all up for Oscar/Ozpin to reclaim his power so no one else can use it again.

Raven really seems nothing more than a plot device for yang, I thought raven was going to die before she was revealed to be a Maiden, a tragic death where she has a heartfelt conversation with Yang one last time and then dies. so now that she is revealed to be a maiden I really think it's only a matter of when she dies.
Weiss was never going to die shes a main character.
Is it a good idea for the RWBY girls to get the Maiden powers? Maybe. I'm not sure. I dont mind that route though.

i do suggest that the topic on Oscar and Maiden powers just drops until we have solid feats/statements to prove one way or the other. It's much like the case with a shounen-verse where a power is mentioned, briefly displayed, but never fully explained until x amount of years later. The same is with Aura, and especially the maiden powers. A good portion of this is speculation.

Anyways, Raven dying is likely at this point. Idk why people say it would be bad writing when it's a cliche to have a character's story fully delved into BEFORE their deaths occur. I can argue that it would be bad writing if Raven survives this volume just to go back to doing what she was before, or magically turn into a good-guy because of Ruby's talk-no-jutsu. If anything, Raven's death this volume would help develop both Qrow and Yang as characters even further, especially if the latter witnesses it happen, or if Raven does it to protect her (and gives her the maiden powers afterwards... Spring Maiden Yang doesn't really work imo. I'd fully expect it if Raven was instead the "Summer maiden", but I guess that'd make more sense for Ruby).

Didn't see anything that says Oscar isn't 7-B, in fact this proves again he is 7-B for taking more hits from Hazel. Heck by your logic Oscar has no aura either so it's even more impressive.

Ozpin Oscar is getting pounded by the 7-B. Hazel wouldn't exactly be allowed to one shot him anyway otherwise where's the show, And if Oscar has no aura then its PIS, since no one can take a hit after their aura is broke.Poinciana1971 said:

Ozpin is blocking hits from Leo when Hazel attacks him sending him flying same as he sent Qrow flying. That's it, Ozpin is on the ground looking at Hazel as he just lost his cane and Nora comes up from behind Hazel.
Hazel grabs her head, slams her into the ground, and starts electrocuting her which makes her strong enough to overpower Hazel's grip and toss him away.
Nothing in this scene implies that Oscar isn't 7-B. Unless Oscar got hit by a 8-A or shown struggling against a 8-A he isn't being downgraded to 8-A.

Because, although too early to tell, it seems Oscar isn't going to be able to hold to Hazel, it isn't just getting hit, he was getting dominated in that short moment, to the point Nora had to save him. So if the fight turns into a stomp at the end, then I doubt you can all keep calling Oscar 7-B. But you probably will anyway.

Mercury and Emerald not taking out Yang already is PIS. Yang has no countermeasures for Em's Semblance and Mercury is free to beat her up. She should already be defeated.
Now that Yang and Ruby are fighting together, they're unlikely to lose. Em can only use her Semblance on one of them at a time unless she pushes herself to her limits.
