Riordanverse confusion

So if all the Gods are all High 6A and High 4C and stuff like that........

then how did Percy stab Ares? And how was Hera captured by the giants in the first book? And why didn't the Greek Gods just 1 shot all the giants and call it a day? and how did the Chosen 6 hold back Gaia?

honestly these are just a few questions about this verse, cause none of this makes sense in my head. Can someone clear things up?

Gods have mortal froms which are imbued with a portion of their power. Percy was only able to harm Ares becasue Ares was toying wtih him and was in mortal form. Hera was captured by Gaia and the giants, how we don't exactly know. We could assume she was in mortal form at the time. (On a side note when Artemis was captured by Atlas she was in mortal form, and once she was chained down couldn't change form or teleport, so I think the same happened to Hera.)

As for Gaia, she wasn't at full power and was using an 'Avatar' of herself as her true self was the earth itself. Even still Jason, Piper and Leo defeating Gaia screams PIS.

ah I see
