Puck himself is an incorporeal being, and Reinhard can already physically interact with a soul. Negating the regeneration would not actually kill Puck, due to the fact that he is a Spirit. He would just be in his incorporeal form again. The fact that Puck died means his mind/soul had to have been erased as well.
