Questions about "Supporters" and "Opponents" of verses

Hey there,

I'm kinda unclear regarding Supporters and Opponents of any given verse and I have a couple of questions.

First, what excatly makes you a Supporter or Opponent of said verse exactly? Do Supporters just support most of the things about said verse and Opponent's oppose to it?

And second, doesn't being identified as a Supporter or Opponent of said verse come of as biased towards the verse in mention? Wouldn't this lead to conflict and friction between felllow debaters?

Supporters of a verse are usually there so people who have questions about the verse know who to turn to, and are often not the ones that have knowledge on said verse.

Opponents are people who put themselves there when they typically want to avoid discussions on the verse, or don't have a liking to it in general.
