Question about untranslated media and secondary canon

I have recently been getting into a very long-running manga that is, unfortunately, mostly untranslated. However, some of the untranslated episodes have been adapted into an anime series, which has received a translation. I don't have immediate plans on doing that but would utilizing the anime as a source for a profile be acceptable in this case, in lack of better alternatives? I did find that the author of the manga is credited among the anime's writing team, anyways.

Anime should be considered a backup source if the translation are similar in both manga or anime, btw you can try searching about author on My Anime List
