Question about Resistance to Madness Manipulation

When I say a character has Resistance to Madness Manipulation, do I need to say the type? Like Resistance to MM (Type 2 or 1 or 3)? At first i thought no need bc they made the same effect but later/now I think same effect but was caused by different methods so yeah

Cuz the potency and working is different. Type 3 for example is passive while the others are not
