So yeah, Punch Out for the Wii had a tie-in comic series: https://boboomba.weebly.com/puch-out-wii-players-guide.html
This is fairly interesting. Assessing the comics themselves, they are written based on the opening sequences to each boxer, and it seems they are written either as or for a guide to Punch Out for the Wii. Oh, and Disco Kid stated his exact win-count from the Wii game. Because of this, it can be safe to say that these things are canon to the game. I ain't sure how much this changes, but here's what I can assess.

- While displaying overconfidence from Glass Joe, it seems Glass Joe has an issue with daydreaming, which may serve as a weakness for Glass Joe.
- That thing where Von Kaiser was shown to be outdone by kids? That's actually him being a bit out of shape.
- King Hippo... Despite winning 18 times, all through KO, he apparently has no idea what boxing is.
- Great Tiger is unaware that his gem flashes whenever he makes a move, which makes his weakness more significant.
- Don Flamenco is shown to survive having been suddenly crushed by the same bull he launched into the air. The bull was shown to be still flying in the opening sequence, so it's likely that Don Flamenco's feat was stronger than initially calc'd. The extent is unknown, but my estimate is 114110 joules<x<1215000 joules (based on the calculated terminal velocity of a bull through a cow's width and the following formula: 90*d^0.5 ). Even without this, the injuries sustained show that he was fully crushed by the bull, putting his durability at upwards 392 kJ based on the common feat.
- Prior to Little Mac becoming champion, Soda Popinski's thing for soda is shown to be completely unrelated to his boxing prowess. He has, however, shown to be pretty damn resistant to water intoxication and perhaps even the side effects of too much caffeine as he had drank so many soda bottles that I've gave up on manually counting them all! Oh, and soda bottles are typically half a liter. You do the math there.
- Mr. Sandman pulled off more or less the same punching feat Don Flamenco did, but with a man instead of a bull, so there's added consistency there.
