"Possibly" and "Likely" Rant

Okay, this isn't meant to be an angry rant but just a long thing I needed to discuss to clear the air. Pretty much everyone has seen this argument before and some have used it in the past, and it's still used to this day and always will.

Many people say "X wins because he is 2A while Y is "Possibly 2A"

This argument is meaningless 90% of the time it's used.

First off, why we have these, the "Likely" is usually there when a high balled calc goes to a different tier. Take 2B for example, her low balled calc puts her at 7B while her high ball puts her at 7A. In one specific example I've seen a guy who shall not be named say "Ryuko has higher AP due to being 7A while 2B is likely 7A" when in reality 2Bs high ball is actually slightly higher, Ryuko's calc just didn't vary, hence 7A.

Now for the "Possibly" argument. We have this due to feats or statements that are possibly outliers, take Darkseid for example, he's possibly 2A due to his feat possibly being an outlier or unquantifiable. However, this is completely and utterly meaningless if an OP specifies using the 2A version, as their treating it as if it isn't an outlier, so once again, this argument is meaningless.

It's the equivalent of saying "This car has 500hp while the other possibly has 500hp" it's again, meaningless.

TLDR: Pay zero attention to whether it's possible or likely, they are inconsistent to use in deciding who has higher normallly and by the time you hit Cosmic, they're completely useless.

Ryuko is actually higher because she fooderizes people who fooderize an army of "people" who fodderize mountain level characters. Not because 2B has the "likely"
