Possible Composite Fish Upgrades and Changes

This is actually my first thread on this site, so please bear with me!

I have done some fish reseach (exciting, I know) and I believe there are certain upgrades/changes we should make to The Composite Fish page:

1) New Powers and Ablities:

a. "Enhanced Smell" (from catfish)

b. "Can breathe through skin" (some fish, like catfish, have "cutaneous respiration" allowing them to breath through skin cells instead of using gills entirely)

c. "Sharp Teeth" (from tigerfish and piranha)

2) Range should probably be changed from "melee" to at least "3 meters" or "10 feet" on account of the archerfish's average spitting distance. The range could also possibly be listed as something like "six times the length of the Composite Fish", as an archerfish can shoot 6 times it's own body length proportionally.

3) Notable and Attacks/Techniques should include "Biting" as a Black Piranha can bite with force 30 times it's own bodyweight (I don't know how powerful this would make a "Composite Fish" bite though).

I'm glad you guys like my proposal! I would take some of the numbers I listed with a grain of salt though. The websites I got them from might not have been the most scientific things I could have cited.

I agree with this. Good additions.

We all know there are plenty of fish out there, so there are probably far more abilities that the profile could use. Plus the Real World page states that you can use sources to argue your points in VS Threads when animals are being regarded.

I'm not sure how 69000 Newtons can be converted to Joules? Or Attack Potency in any way? Many people have commented on my blog post concerning validity of the calc I used.A

Also, for reference, a Great White Shark bites with around 5000 PSI if I remember correctly. I wrote a list of PSI Bite strengths in my blog post.

J/m is Newton... so that calculator isn't doing a thing.

Maybe I could convert that force to power, but I would need to research about Jet turbines and their physics

There's one thing I disagree with though.

"Six times the length of composite fish".

When I was making the calcs for Composite Fish's AP, I was taking into consideration the likes of the Oarfish, which can reach up to 1,000 meters long, and putting the composite fish at 6,000 meters via spitting water seems a bit outlandish for me, as some google searches tell me that this is approaching the height of some mountains.

I think 3 to 10 meters would be better.

When I take that piranhas biting with 30x their body weight, I plug the 2,300 sunfish into that and got 69 metric tons.

That's City Block Level if I remember correctly.

Again, seems pretty outlandish.

I've made the changes. I've mentioned the 6x body length and 30x body weight feats, but I made no attempts to calc them, just to play it safe.

I was going by the Attack Potency scale. 69 tons is City Block Level.

Those are TNT tons, here is 69K Newtons, that is 7.04 tons or force, not related to energy

I don't know if we can use the wattage for the fish. We're already wanking the crap out of this thing.

But I'll give it a try just in case. Electric catfish weigh around 23 kg and generate 350 volts, while the Leedsichthys weighs around 2000 kilograms. So assuming the amount of voltage is proportionate to the body mass, multiplying 350 by 87 will get you 30,450 volts.

I don't know how to convert this to energy, though. Just thought I'd put this up.

Mass of the fish is unrelated to the amount of electric tension that it generate, is already pretty hard to compound several biologic function in one being; and no, electric tension can't be converted to energy, but is better tha stay in that way.
