Pokemon Generations

So I wanted to ask what are everyone's thoughts on Pokemon Generations? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMzwcIG8vgk in the trailer's description it says it tells the unseen stories of the Pokemon Games, does that mean it's an extension of the Game Cannon? With it being from the offical pokemon company I think it should be, but what are your guys' thoughts? I just want to know where it stands in terms of usage.

Depends, i mean look at the kyogre one, the mc was nowhere to be found when kyogre awakened and Archie lost the blue orb so he couldnt of gave it to the character later on.

I think it'd be similar to non-canon extensions of the story, ala <insert name here> shinden for Naruto.
