Pokemon Discussion Thread - Red & Blue arc

Okay, it's been plenty enough time. Probably enough for a "no spoilers" embargo to have finished, & I'm bored & have the time, so I'm just gonna post all of the Photodex Entries from New Pokemon Snap. Yes, all of them; I think it'll be valuable to have them all able to be read in one place. (Almost every entry names the Pokemon it's for in the entry, too, so it's easy to tell which is which.)
For simplicity's sake, I'll go in the Photodex's order.
Shoutouts to Serebii because this seems seriously underdocumented.

The patterns on a Vivillon's wings adapt to the environment. Even on the same island, you can find different Vivillon in areas with different climates.
Pichu may be small, but it can still give foes quite a shock! It's not very good at storing electricity, though, so it sticks close to bigger Pokémon for safety.
Grookey loves music and high places, and you'll often see it beating out a rhythm or dancing. When it uses its stick to strike up a beat, even the plants and flowers in the area seem happier and revitalized.
Scorbunny runs around to pump itself up and get its fire energy flowing. It's so carefree about running that it sometimes zooms right into trouble!
A charging Bouffalant can pulverize a huge boulder with a single headbutt! Even if a fierce fight breaks out within the herd, the fluffy fur on their heads absorbs impacts, preventing injuries.
When Pidgeot flaps its wings, it can whip up a gust of wind capable of blowing away just about anything. It also has excellent vision and can zero in on leaping Magikarp from a far-off distance.
Tangrowth uses its vine arms to nimbly pluck fruit that's just out of reach. It can also extend its arms even farther to carry itself across long distances.
Did you notice the scorched fruit on the ground in the nature park? That was an Emolga's doing. It zapped the fruit with electricity from its cheek sacs!
Thanks to the suction pads on its feet, Wurmple can scoot right up any surface! When threatened, it defends itself by releasing poison from its tail spikes.
Murkrow fly throughout the nature park after sunset, looking for the glint of shiny objects in the darkness. They're fearless creatures that won't hesitate to tease Pokémon much larger than them.
This eager eater consumes leaf after leaf while hiding in tall grass. When Caterpie senses danger, it exudes a horrible odor from the antenna on its head to protect itself.
Heracross are incredibly powerful-strong enough to toss even large foes as if they weigh nothing at all! But they're usually rather gentle, often sharing sap with other Pokémon.
You may have spotted Pinsir's prominent horns sticking out of the ground in the nature park at night. It burrows beneath the ground to protect itself from the cold.
Dodrio can speed through the entire nature park before you know it. It can jump so high with its powerful legs, it may as well be flying!
These Ducklett were born and raised on the lake in the nature park. They're not great fliers yet, but they'll eventually learn by watching and imitating Swanna.
Swanna migrate to the lake in the nature park for the winter. When spring arrives, they all take flight at once. It's like a scene straight out of a painting!
When Bidoof find a nice spot by the water, they build a dam and make themselves at home there. Though the dam cuts off the flow of water for a while, it actually does great things for the environment!
When it gets cold, Taillow flock to the nature park in search of food. They may peck at Wurmple, but they usually get driven away.
Torterra live in groups deep in the forest. Small Pokémon seem to feel safe on their broad backs, which are densely covered with trees and other plant life.
Wherever there's a body of water, odds are you'll also find Magikarp. All it does is flop around, so it seems kinda weak, but it may in fact be hardier than it looks!
Hoothoot are said to be more accurate timekeepers than any clock. As nocturnal Pokémon, they're not big fans of light, so they spend the daylight hours sleeping in holes in tree trunks.
Comfey's vine is packed with nutrients, so any flowers it attaches to its vine are revitalized and bloom brightly. The Comfey in the nature park love Florges's flowers and spend all their time in its garden.
Florges can live for hundreds of years, and it devotes its entire life to protecting a single garden. It's thanks to Florges that the flower gardens in the nature park are so beautiful.
From the moment they're born, the trio that make up Combee work together for the sake of Vespiquen. The nectar they gather from flowers that grow near crystablooms is particularly rich and sweet.
Vespiquen gives orders to Combee by releasing various pheromones. It looks almost like an orchestra conductor as it commands them.
Sylveon has really made itself at home in the flower meadow in the nature park. It seems to love living there-dancing nimbly as it emits waves of soothing energy.
Shaymin has the incredible power to transform ruined land into a lush field. When it curls up, it looks like a flowering plant, so it's hard to spot even up close.
Illumina Pokémon hadn't been seen on Florio Island for almost a century until you encountered this one and took its photo! Meganium seems so happy living with the other Pokémon on that flowery hill.
It's said that Eevee have unique genes that harbor a wide range of Evolutionary potential. Perhaps the Eevee native to the Lental region have also been influenced by the different environments on each island.
Pikachu build up electricity in their cheek sacs while they sleep. They're also very curious-you'll often see one playing at our research camp.
You can often see Cutiefly around the flower beds at the research camp. They just love the flowers here. I've heard that they can tell which flowers are about to bloom by reading their auras.
If you see any holes in the ground at the research camp, you can bet Bunnelby dug them. Its huge shovel-like ears let it dig a tremendous amount of soil in one go.
Stoutland is my Pokémon partner! It's really smart-if I'm too caught up in my research to notice guests have arrived, it'll let me know with a loud bark.
On clear days, you'll often see Starly flying around the research camp. Sometimes they get startled and flee, but even then, they tend to stay close by. It's surprisingly brave of them.
At some point, Meowth made itself at home near camp and started dropping by to nap or play around. I wouldn't mind so much if it'd just keep its paws off the NEO-ONE...
You've come across Audino plenty of times in my lab, I'm sure. It's so sensitive to sound, it can pick up on the tiniest changes around it. It's always the first to notice if I'm not feeling well.
I bet you've seen Rattata near the lab a lot, playing with Trubbish. I know they need to gnaw on things to keep their fangs from growing too long, but I really wish they wouldn't chew up the lab's support beams!
Trubbish love to eat garbage, and when they've eaten their fill, they belch up poison gas. There was an unfortunate incident once when Trubbish belched inside the lab. It's not allowed inside anymore.
Sudowoodo often comes to the research camp. I think it wants to be friends with the other Pokémon here. It tried to get closer by pretending to be a tree, but it ran away when it got startled.
Dedenne love electricity, so they tend to live near humans. One often comes to my lab to feed on the electricity. Speaking of which, I was pretty shocked when it erased some of my data!
Aipom dart about the treetops, swinging from branch to branch with their dexterous tails-which are also strong enough to cut through the underbrush!
These little ones are part of the reason this jungle smells so sweet! But that aroma can attract Pikipek, which sometimes carry Bounsweet off to their storage holes.
Inside that hard shell, Metapod's cells are being completely rebuilt! Metapod often stick together in groups, moving as little as possible so their innards don't spill out of their shells.
You've probably seen Beautifly fluttering about in search of its favorite food-pollen. In addition to nectar, its long, thin proboscis is also perfect for sucking up water and fruit juices.
It must take some serious skill to sleep so securely on tree branches in the jungle! Arbok also displays the face-like pattern on its hood when it wants to intimidate foes.
Yanmega's wings are powerful enough to create shock waves when it accelerates. When it wants to rest, it turns its body upside down and stops for a while on a branch.
If you spot a hole in a tree in the jungle, it's probably a Pikipek's food storage. It uses its hard beak to repeatedly peck at the tree until it bores a hole.
Toucannon use their huge beaks to communicate. If you see two of them smacking their beaks together, don't worry. They're not fighting-they're just telling each other how they feel.
Ariados spins silk from both its rear and its mouth. It uses the silk to build its web and catch prey. If it's not on its web, you can bet it's wandering around somewhere, searching for food.
Morelull stays hidden and sleeps during the day, but at night it becomes more active. Its spores can make you feel very drowsy.
Slaking is the laziest Pokémon in the world. It usually only eats whatever is in reach. If you see it walking around at night, it's probably overwhelmingly hungry!
The aroma of the flower on Venusaur's back soothes the Pokémon around it. Smaller Pokémon by the waterside certainly looked relaxed and comfortable as they played with it.
Liepard dashes through the jungle with sinewy grace without making a sound. But it's a fickle Pokémon and usually spends more of its time just loafing around.
Wooper is very timid and tends to stick close to Quagsire. Its body is also coated in a poisonous goo. Whatever you do, don't touch it, or else your hand will really sting!
Quagsire doesn't like the sun, so it usually stays underwater during the day. It has a really easygoing nature, but it's also quite loyal and protective of timid Wooper.
Swampert has powerful vision that allows it to see through muddy river water. The reason it covers itself with mud when it's on land is because it wants to keep its skin moist.
When night falls, Ledian flutters about, scattering a sparkling dust. It seems very drawn to anything that lights up-maybe because it uses starlight as energy.
Sobble is so timid that it bursts into tears at the slightest shock. A chemical in its tears causes other Pokémon nearby to start crying as well.
Did you notice how clear the air was near the waterfall in the jungle? That's because Leafeon, with its plantlike cells, has been cleaning the air with photosynthesis.
Mew is an incredibly intelligent Pokémon that lives hidden in the ruins. People say it only appears before those who are pure of heart.
It's said that if anyone tries to harm the forest, Trevenant will trap them inside a thick fog. But it's kind to forest-dwelling Pokémon and others that it trusts.
If you happened upon a floating boulder in the forest, that was likely the work of Espurr training to get better control over their psychic powers!
The other Pokémon in the woods all revere Shiftry as a forest guardian. The storm of flower petals it whipped up with its fans was really something else!
Kecleon can change their skin color to blend in with their surroundings and hide. They live all over the forest. Did you spot them all?
Deerling have different appearances depending on the season. They usually stick close to Sawsbuck, but because they're so curious, they sometimes wander off on their own and get lost.
Deerling have different appearances depending on the season. They usually stick close to Sawsbuck, but because they're so curious, they sometimes wander off on their own and get lost.
Male and female Unfezant work together to raise their young. One goes out in search of food while the other stays back at the nest to protect their eggs.
Drampa lives a leisurely life in the forest shrouded in fog. Smaller Pokémon adore Drampa and can often be seen playing with it.
Pancham imitate other Pokémon to learn how to grow strong. They may be easily distracted, but they seem to be training as hard as they can under Shiftry's instruction.
When Bulbasaur is born, it lives for a while via photosynthesis and the nutrients in the seed on its back. Until it grows bigger, it depends on other Pokémon to survive.
Serperior's haughty eyes can stop a foe in its tracks with just a glare. It's a very cautious Pokémon and usually lives quietly in the ruins in the forest.
As soon as an Applin is born, it burrows into an apple, which it eats as it matures. If it falls from a great height, it may pop out of its apple.
This Pokémon has a habit of hugging just about anything. In Lental, Bewear tend to hibernate during the seasons when food is scarce.
Gardevoir's powers allow it to do things such as predict the future or make objects float in the air. In the forest, it was using its psychic power to entertain other Pokémon.
This mystical Pokémon is the subject of numerous legends. It's highly intelligent and extremely curious, so it closely studies others to try to learn all it can about them.
The leaf on Lotad's head is so heavy, it finds it easier to live floating in the water. It's also been known to let other Pokémon ride on top of its head as it gives them a lift.
Espeon can predict just about anything by simply detecting slight shifts in the air. It seemed to be leading you through Elsewhere Forest so you wouldn't get lost.
Celebi has the amazing ability to move through time. The area around the ruins might be a special place to this Pokémon.
This Illumina Pokémon looked stunning as it swam gracefully through the clear water. I suspect some connection with Meganium stirred Milotic from its sleep.
Wingull rides updrafts over the sea to glide smoothly through the air. It uses that momentum to dive down into the ocean to catch food.
Each of Exeggutor's three heads thinks independently, but they get along well with each other. It sleeps among trees on the coast as camouflage for protection.
When Crabrawler fights, it attacks and defends just like a boxer. Sometimes it mistakes Exeggutor for a normal tree on the beach and punches it by accident.
Drifblim float around as they please during the day, but at night they drift off to who knows where. Apparently, some of the Clamperl they've carried away are still missing.
Zangoose certainly has a brave side, using its sharp claws to fight back against foes. But it actually seems to enjoy peaceful activities, like listening to the sound of the ocean waves or nearby singing.
Seviper must be a real stickler to spend so much time sharpening its tail blade. Speaking of which, that blade is extremely dangerous! Not just because it's sharp-it also oozes a deadly poison.
Bellossom usually hide in vegetation, but when something puts them in a happy mood, they come out of hiding to dance with their friends.
Inkay instinctively reacts to anything in the water that lights up or makes an echoing sound. That's because it usually uses its own luminescence to communicate with others of its kind.
Pyukumuku may look cute, but they pack a powerful wallop! They can spit out their internal organs and use them to fight-or to compete against each other to see which is the strongest.
Machamp's four muscular arms make it an excellent swimmer. It can move through the water as fast as any aquatic Pokémon.
Do you know why you see Stunfisk buried in the sand at the beach? They're waiting to shock the first unlucky passerby to step on them!
Octillery wanders around until it finds the perfect rocky crag to hide under. If it angers another Pokémon by wandering into its territory, Octillery will spit ink to cover its escape.
Corsola grow so beautifully by absorbing nutrients from clean ocean waters through the branches on their heads. Sometimes their branches glow in rainbow colors if the sunlight hits them just right.
If you see the pink patterns on Finneon's tail fins shining at night, that means it stored up plenty of sunlight during the day. Isn't Finneon beautiful when it flutters its fins like a pair of delicate wings?
Clamperl is constantly in search of safe coral reefs where it can protect itself. It'll sometimes catch a ride from Drifblim when it wants to move.
When night falls, you can hear Primarina's gorgeous singing voice being carried on the ocean breeze. Primarina looks almost magical as it sings against the backdrop of a full moon.
This Pokémon is a talented surfer, using its psychic power to ride the waves. It's always practicing on the beach, waiting for that perfect wave to roll in.
They say that a mound of sand became possessed by the grudges of the departed, giving birth to Sandygast. Think twice about going near any cute-looking shovels you see sticking out of the sand.
Sharpedo is known as the Bully of the Sea. It'll challenge anyone and anything to a swimming race. It definitely swims fast, but it can't maintain that speed for long.
Squirtle doesn't bask in the sun just to dry off its shell-it's also absorbing nutrients to help it grow strong. It's still weak for now, though, so it often needs friends like Lapras to rescue it.
Blastoise's water cannons pack so much power, they can propel Blastoise through the air! The Pokémon can also be seen sunbathing at times. It appears to feel safer when it's tucked inside its shell.
Lapras is so intelligent that it can understand human speech-and it's got a beautiful singing voice, too! On days when the sea is calm, you can often see young Lapras swimming with their parents.
When Mantine swim as a school, they often race one another. Sometimes Mantine will build up so much speed, it leaps right out of the water!
Pelipper is sometimes referred to as a courier of the skies due to its habit of carrying things inside its beak. When it's hungry, it sometimes dives down into the water to search for food.
Wailord is one of the biggest Pokémon in the Lental region and can be found going for a leisurely swim in the sea. It's so huge that it has no natural enemies, so it's very at ease and loves to play.
Mareanie live together in groups, and each one has 10 tentacles and a poison spike on its head. You may spot Mareanie chasing Corsola now and then-they love the taste of Corsola branches.
An empty-looking blue hole may actually be home to Vaporeon. Because their cells are similar to water molecules, Vaporeon can't be seen when they're in the water.
Manaphy has a wondrous power that lets it bond with any kind of Pokémon. It will sometimes rise up from the ocean floor, lured by the sound of beautiful singing.
Luvdisc's heart-shaped body really stands out, making it an easy target for predators. It rests between the branches of Corsola for protection.
This kindly species will swim alongside smaller Pokémon to keep them from feeling lonely. A lot of different Pokémon seem naturally drawn to Alomomola.
Wailmer can survive on land for a time, but it loses vitality if its body dries out, so it tends to stay in the sea. Apparently it likes to startle other Pokémon, as you can see from all the pranks it plays!
Cradily's body is so heavy, even rough seas can't wash it away. It can't move very fast, so it hides among seaweed and reaches out with its tentacles to catch prey.
Lumineon uses the fins on its chest to drag itself along the ocean floor, shuffling and sweeping sand away to reveal hiding Starmie.
Qwilfish swallows gallons of seawater to inflate itself to intimidate enemies. If it gets startled, it spits out all that water and sends itself flying to who knows where.
Clawitzer are very territorial, and they are known to fight fiercely among each other. The cannonballs of water that they launch from their claws can break through walls and shatter big boulders.
Tentacruel use ultrasonic waves to investigate their surroundings and emit light from their heads to signal danger. They seemed to react to the NEO-ONE's scans-maybe they felt familiar to them!
Chinchou's two antennae, which evolved from a fin, can light up from the electricity running through them. It flashes those lights to communicate with others.
Lanturn's antenna produces light in a way that's completely different from the Illumina phenomenon. Deep in the ocean, where sunlight doesn't reach, Lanturn's light can guide you on your way.
Starmie's core will sometimes glow with the seven colors of the rainbow. It's said that the light and signals it emits are its way of communicating with outer space.
The Frillish drifting in the blue hole are on the lookout for food. Sometimes the males and females will work together to drag other Pokémon down to the depths of the sea.
This Pokémon meditates quietly on the ocean floor so that it can grow stronger. A Golisopod that has trained with its allies can slice a stone in half with one stroke.
Lugia is said to be the guardian of the seas. Its power is so overwhelming that it usually stays in its home at the bottom of the sea, where it quietly sleeps.
We found this Illumina Pokémon deep in the sea, where even Captain Vince never traveled. Wishiwashi usually only school together when they're threatened-maybe they're different in the Maricopia Islands.
These Illumina Wishiwashi have grouped together into their School Form. As soon as they gathered, we picked up an Illumina energy reading that was absolutely enormous.
Skorupi often hides in the sand, waiting for its chance to catch a meal. It's a very patient Pokémon that can survive for long stretches of time without food.
Cacnea goes with the flow of its desert environment without a care in the world. Its thorns are so sharp that random objects sometimes get stuck to them.
The skin on Sandshrew's back is very hard, and Sandshrew protects itself by curling into a ball. This also helps it move around faster-it can just roll across the desert!
Those bowl-shaped holes you see in the desert are Trapinch nests. They're very effective-both at protecting Trapinch and at funneling any food to it that falls in.
It sure was a surprise when Flygon suddenly appeared out of that huge sandstorm! The flapping of this Pokémon's wings sounds like singing, and those who have heard it call Flygon the Desert Spirit.
Kangaskhan raises its young in the pouch on its belly. It'll threaten anyone who gets too close but only out of a desire to protect its young. It's actually a very kind Pokémon.
Those Mandibuzz in the desert aren't just going for a leisurely flight-they're also looking for food. Other Pokémon are always on alert so that Mandibuzz won't steal their meals!
Minior is usually covered in a hard shell, but this is its true form. They normally aren't so active when they're exposed like this. I wonder if that could be related to the Illumina phenomenon somehow.
It's said that this Pokémon arrived here from the night sky. It sure looked beautiful flying back up to the sky over the desert.
Silicobra is often hiding inside the sand, waiting to catch some food. But it jumps right out of its hiding place when something catches its interest... It must be a very curious Pokémon!
Torchic often peck at the ground in search of pebbles. Eating pebbles helps it digest its food and makes the flames it exhales even hotter. You could say it's like feeding two birds with one stone!
Heliolisk uses electricity to stimulate its leg muscles, allowing it to move so fast it can run on water! It can generate more electricity at once if it spreads its frill.
This loyal Pokémon always does what it can for those it holds dear. It uses its rocky mane and claws to protect Rockruff in its care.
(Lycanroc, Midday Form.)
This proud, solitary Pokémon almost never eats anything that it didn't catch itself. It's always hungry for a battle, though-even against terribly strong opponents. (Lycanroc, Midnight Form.)
Have you ever seen a Hippowdon blast sand out of the ports on its body? It does that to make room for the fresh sand it'll swallow to keep itself healthy.
Tyranitar has such a sturdy body, it can even doze off in the middle of a sandstorm. We saw it waiting in the desert, hoping for a suitably strong opponent to come along.
Onix can burrow as effortlessly through rock walls as it can through a sea of sand. Other Pokémon make their dens in the tunnels it leaves in its wake.
The hot springs help keep Altaria's cottony wings nice and fluffy. This Pokémon loves music so much, it can't help but hum along if it hears a melody.
Shinx looked like it was having fun playing with Charmander. As the Pokémon ran around chasing each other, Shinx's forelegs were naturally generating electricity.
Luxray is a Pokémon that behaves with great discipline. When it lost sight of Shinx, it used its ability to see through objects to quickly find it so they could be reunited.
This aerial hunter glides speedily down from a great height, then flies off clutching its prey. Its feathers are fireproof, so a Talonflame is just fine even if it's near lava.
Monferno always want to be the strongest in their pack, so they like harsh environments that toughen them up! That's why you can find them training in steep, dangerous places around the volcano.
Aerodactyl rules the air in and around the volcano where many prehistoric Pokémon live. It seems to like amber-maybe it brings back memories of old friends.
Tyrantrum reigns like a king over the other land-dwelling prehistoric Pokémon around the volcano. It's completely unguarded when it sleeps-probably because it's so strong that it feels no need to be cautious.
I'm sure you spotted Graveler curled up and rolling all over the place. It's such a resilient Pokémon, it can even withstand the heat of the volcano's lava.
Archeops is a powerful runner, so it can escape from predators even if it's on the ground. It's not great at flying, though, and it needs a running start before it takes off.
Slugma stays near the lava because if its magma body ever cools, it will harden and make this Pokémon unable to move. It often burns its food with its own heat, so eating can be a tricky task for it.
The flames burning inside Torkoal's shell are its life-force. It lives near the lava lake because the heat keeps its flames strong and healthy.
Charmander live together in groups so they can all watch each other's tail and make sure the flames never go out. If you can only see one Charmander, look around-its friends are sure to be nearby.
Charizard form herds with Charmander, and they all live together near the volcano. The flames they breathe are as hot as the lava around them.
Typhlosion can cause huge explosions by rubbing its blazing fur. It's a rather violent Pokémon-anything it doesn't recognize, it burns to charcoal.
Flareon is extremely curious and shows interest in a wide variety of things. Its body temperature rises when it gets excited, but it stays cool by releasing heat from its fluffy fur.
People say that if you find a feather from one of Ho-Oh's seven-colored wings, you'll be promised eternal happiness. Ho-Oh looked so beautiful, sparkling and shining with each flap of its wings.
It never occurred to me that there would be two Illumina Pokémon on Voluca Island. It looked like the Volcarona were talking to each other as they flew. I wonder what they were saying.
Furret sure is agile, as we saw by the way it nimbly darted between the trees in the snowfields. Its long, slender body is perfectly suited for its habit of hiding inside narrow dens and fallen trees.
Cubchoo live happily on the snowfields under the watchful eye of Beartic. They say you can tell how healthy a Cubchoo is by looking at the snot dangling from its nose.
Beartic has a rather violent temper and often fights with Mamoswine over territory. But it shows its more nurturing side when it rescues Cubchoo that need its help.
Wild Mightyena live in packs with very strict hierarchies. When the pack leader howls, the others howl with it to send information to faraway allies.
You probably noticed marks scratched into the tree trunks in the snowfields. Those are actually messages that Weavile leave for each other.
Braviary's appearance may stick out on the snowfields, but this warrior of the skies has survived nonetheless. Its courage is unmatched, and it never backs down from a challenge.
Swinub have an excellent sense of smell, which helps them find things buried in the snow. Whenever they go somewhere dangerous, Mamoswine are sure to go with them.
The cold of the snowfields has hardened Mamoswine's icy tusks, making them strong enough to withstand even Beartic's claws. Swinub must feel much safer when they're with Mamoswine.
Skarmory flew with such acrobatic skill over the snowfields. Its steel body is hard and sturdy, but because of its hollow bones, it's actually very lightweight.
Thanks to its huge claws, this Pokémon can move through snow as though it were swimming. The ice spikes on its back are even sharper than its claws, and they protect it from just about anything.
Abomasnow lives where it's snowy all year round. When it gets angry, it can whip up a blizzard and totally drown its surroundings in white.
When it feels wary, Alolan Vulpix exhales freezing-cold air from its mouth to intimidate foes. It was nice to see it playing innocently with its Pokémon friends.
Delibird have a habit of storing food in their sack-like tails. We even saw one that had stuffed its tail so heavy that it couldn't even move!
To protect itself while it sleeps, Snom ties itself to an icicle with some thread. When it's startled, it'll burrow right down into the snow before you know it.
Anyone who messes with the snowfields will have to deal with freezing scales unleashed by Frosmoth. But just watching its elegant fluttering can be wonderfully calming and peaceful.
Crabominable tends to punch whatever it sees without stopping to think. When it's fired up in the heat of battle, it can unleash an unbelievable amount of power.
Snorunt prefer caves and other enclosed spaces where they feel protected. That explains why we saw one living in a hole dug out from a mound of snow in the Shiver Snowfields.
Glalie seemed to be living happily with Froslass in a cave on the snowfields. It can lower its own body temperature to make its icy armor even harder.
Froslass has a habit of freezing things it likes and displaying them as decorations. Seeing the pieces of the ruins it had on display, I'd say Froslass and I are kindred spirits!
I've heard that Jynx can make all sorts of things happen just by wishing for them. We did see some odd occurrences in the Shiver Snowfields involving Jynx, so there may be some truth to that claim.
Thanks to its fluffy fur coat, Spheal's round body stays warm even in ice-cold water. It looks like it loves rolling around and playing with Dewgong!
Piplup isn't a great walker, with all its stumbling and falling, but it's very good at swimming. It likes to find shells underwater and show them off to its friends.
Vanilluxe can't even move until both of its heads agree to a course of action. If you see one staying still, look closely-you may notice that one of its heads is napping.
By floating on top of the lake, Avalugg can pass itself off as an ice floe. It doesn't seem to mind if other Pokémon hitch a ride on top of it to cross the water.
Dewgong can swim incredibly fast thanks to its streamlined body, which has little drag in the water. On the snowfields, we saw one playing with a Spheal like it was playing with a ball.
Somehow, this Pokémon remained frozen in hibernation since prehistoric times. Its awakening could be connected to the Illumina phenomenon, I think.
I knew Glaceon could freeze the air around it by controlling its body temperature, but I was surprised to see one whip up a flurry of diamond dust with just a single cry.
Suicune is said to be the embodiment of north winds. True to its reputation, we saw it racing like wind across the snowfields. What an elegant sight to behold!
Sure, Crobat's a speedy flier, but I hope you also noticed how quiet its four wings are! It sometimes lands to rest, but it's not very good at walking.
Did you notice the Joltik clinging to the other Pokémon in the cave? They can't produce a charge on their own, so they absorb the static electricity from others.
When they're sleeping, Geodude look so much like rocks that it's hard to even notice them! Apparently, they're proud of their hard bodies and compete with each other to see who's the toughest.
It looks like we've got some Carbink living happily together with Diancie. Carbink are said to be born from the high temperatures and pressures found in cave systems.
In Lental, picture books warn that Gengar will pay a visit to children who are naughty. It loves to use its powers to slip through walls and other objects so it can play tricks on people.
Noibat's ears emit ultrasonic waves that help it perceive its surroundings and fly safely in total darkness. You might also see it using those same waves on fruit to check if it's ripe.
Pumpkaboo of several different sizes live in the Lental region. I've heard it said that their size depends on the number of souls they have trapped inside them.
This Pumpkaboo doesn't have many souls inside of it. It probably still enjoys just playing around and pulling pranks on other Pokémon.
There must be a lot of souls inside this Pumpkaboo. It's probably really industrious, working away by the light of its own glow inside dim caves.
This Pumpkaboo is just packed full of souls! How do you suppose it managed to get so many?
Croagunk make distinctive sounds by inflating the poison sacs in their cheeks. We saw some that were inflating their cheeks in a rhythmic way-almost as if they were singing!
It's said that a Drifloon's puffy body is filled with countless souls. In the cave, we saw one trying to carry a smaller Pokémon away somewhere.
A lot of old writings link Clefairy to the moon, and we even saw them in a part of the cave where the moon could be seen. People say that happiness comes to those who see Clefairy dance.
Sableye was scratching at the ground with its sharp claws, looking for its favorite food-gemstones. Did you notice the glint in its eyes when it saw Carbink?
Rampardos will headbutt anything. The impact packs enough punch to make caves shake, but thanks to its thick, durable skull, it doesn't injure itself at all.
Hydreigon was very threatening as it guarded the underwater lake where it's claimed its territory. It has heads on its arms, but apparently those heads can't think for themselves.
I suspect the Goodra in the cave lives near water so it can moisten up its protective goo when it needs to. Goodra are very kindhearted and do their best to protect other Pokémon.
Those huge jaws on Mawile's head are actually steel horns that have been transformed. It seemed to take a while for it to warm up to you. Staring down the jaws of a wary Mawile isn't my idea of fun!
Jolteon can charge every hair on its body with electricity. The charge is so powerful that even if Jolteon sheds its fur, the hairs can stay electrically charged a long time!
Diancie possesses a wondrous power that allows it to compress carbon molecules in the air into diamonds! When we saw it living happily with Carbink, it looked just like a princess.
This Illumina Pokémon lives deep beneath the ground on Lental's most remote island. We can tell from the nearby ruins that this Steelix used to interact with the people of the time.
That pack of Houndoom seemed to be working together to protect the ruins. Some people say their eerie howls sound like the grim reaper.
Eldegoss looked so free, bobbing on the wind. I have a theory that the cotton it scatters helps keep Lental lush and green by spreading various plant seeds throughout the islands.
Natu had no trouble getting around in the ruins, despite their complexity. These Pokémon aren't able to fly yet, but they have amazing jumping power.
People say that Absol can predict all sorts of disasters with its horn. It seemed to be protecting you just as much as it was protecting the ruins.
The Salandit we saw were communicating with each other as they searched for food. They can't stand Noivern, so they were constantly sneaking around, hoping they wouldn't get caught.
Noivern was flying around the ruins, searching everywhere for Salandit. The ultrasonic waves it emits from its ears are powerful enough to destroy boulders.
Woobat love dark environments. It looks like they left those heart-shaped markings on the ruin walls. They use the suction from their nostrils to stick themselves to walls while they sleep.
The Sigilyph patrolling the Ruins of Remembrance let out a warning whenever it noticed anything. It must have been guarding those ruins for a very long time.
Beheeyem and Golurk seemed to be standing guard inside the ruins. Beheeyem looked like it was giving orders by flashing light from its fingertips, but deciphering those patterns could be tough.
Golurk seemed to be taking orders from Beheeyem as they guarded the ruins. They're very mysterious, but the other Pokémon seem to be quite friendly with them.
Chandelure may look like it's protecting the ruins, but it's more likely that it just lives there. It seems to absorb energy by waving its eerie flames.
When Umbreon gets excited, the patterns on its body glow and give off energy. The one we saw in the ruins seems to hang out with Absol a lot.
Jirachi's wondrous power allows it to grant any wishes written on the notes attached to its head. I hardly dared hope when we first saw its crystal shell, but I'm so glad we were lucky enough to encounter it!
I believe the Xerneas we saw in the ruins was the very first Illumina Pokémon. It's been about 2,000 years since it went to sleep after protecting Lental. Do you think it will ever fully reawaken?

There. That's at least 220 entries, all in one place!

Wow, that took a while. There's some interesting conclusions about a few things to be made from it, but largely, it's a ton of anti-feats (Then again, untrained Pokemon?) as well as lots of information on behaviour, which may be relevant for Standard Tactics sort of stuff.
While looking it up, I noticed mentions of other stuff that can happen that may be of note, in Serebii's instructions on how to get certain photo ratings.

Sadly, I'm a bit too lazy/worn out right now to go into details about which entries or noted interactions to set up photos seem notable right now. But that's why I posted this here; Why not take a look in the spoilers & see if there's anything that catches your attention?
Gonna try to find & highlight some of the more interesting conclusions from the Photodex entries, since I feel that I have time now.

1. Dodrio can speed through the entire nature park before you know it. It can jump so high with its powerful legs, it may as well be flying!
Speed feat? I wonder how big the Nature Park is, & how long "before you know it" is.

2. Murkrow fly throughout the nature park after sunset, looking for the glint of shiny objects in the darkness. They're fearless creatures that won't hesitate to tease Pokémon much larger than them.
Murkrow are apparently "fearless", in that they'll tease much larger Pokemon. This probably has a corresponding feat in gameplay. Maybe a basis for Resistance to Fear Manipulation? But bullies being gutsy & reckless to bully is natural, so....

3. Wooper is very timid and tends to stick close to Quagsire. Its body is also coated in a poisonous goo. Whatever you do, don't touch it, or else your hand will really sting!
Clarifies stuff Pokedex entries hadn't mentioned; (Limited?) Pain Manipulation for Wooper, via inflicting pain on contact with the slime.

4. It's said that if anyone tries to harm the forest, Trevenant will trap them inside a thick fog. But it's kind to forest-dwelling Pokémon and others that it trusts.
This clarifies how Trevenant traps its victims: With thick fog. Pokedex enties of Trevenant hadn't clarified how it did, so this is interesting information. In gameplay, Trevenant also dispells the fog (Presumably because it then trusts the player character.) after the Melody is played.

5. If you happened upon a floating boulder in the forest, that was likely the work of Espurr training to get better control over their psychic powers!
Espurr have a supporting feat, where 3 of them can be seen lifting a small boulder all at once. If people want to calc it, Trevenant may help to measure it.

Footage for both Espurr & Trevenant here:

6. Gardevoir's powers allow it to do things such as predict the future or make objects float in the air. In the forest, it was using its psychic power to entertain other Pokémon.
Gardevoir has what I think is a fairly good telekinesis precision feat in gameplay, where it creates "leaves" from snow using its telekinesis. Footage.

7. Celebi has the amazing ability to move through time. The area around the ruins might be a special place to this Pokémon.
Celebi is explicitly stated to be able to move through time. I guess we don't rate it as Immeasurable Speed because scaling reasons? Also, multiple Celebi can be seen at once in gameplay. https://www.serebii.net/newpokemonsnap/photodex/star/celebi4.jpg

8. Machamp's four muscular arms make it an excellent swimmer. It can move through the water as fast as any aquatic Pokémon.
Machamp has a swimming feat, & can be seen swimming in gameplay.

9. Squirtle doesn't bask in the sun just to dry off its shell-it's also absorbing nutrients to help it grow strong. It's still weak for now, though, so it often needs friends like Lapras to rescue it.
Squirtle absorbs nutrients when basking in the sun.

10. Blastoise's water cannons pack so much power, they can propel Blastoise through the air! The Pokémon can also be seen sunbathing at times. It appears to feel safer when it's tucked inside its shell.
Blastoise has pseudo-flight, which can be seen in gameplay.

11. Cradily's body is so heavy, even rough seas can't wash it away. It can't move very fast, so it hides among seaweed and reaches out with its tentacles to catch prey.
60 kilograms is too heavy for the sea to wash it away??? There are humans heavier than that.

12. Lanturn's antenna produces light in a way that's completely different from the Illumina phenomenon. Deep in the ocean, where sunlight doesn't reach, Lanturn's light can guide you on your way.
Apparently, Lanturn's light is produced in a way that's completerly different from the Illumina phenomenon's light. Might be sort of useful information?

13. We found this Illumina Pokémon deep in the sea, where even Captain Vince never traveled. Wishiwashi usually only school together when they're threatened-maybe they're different in the Maricopia Islands.
Illumina Wishiwashi Schooled despite not being threatened.

14. Cacnea goes with the flow of its desert environment without a care in the world. Its thorns are so sharp that random objects sometimes get stuck to them.
Clarification of how sharp Cacnea's thorns are.

15. It sure was a surprise when Flygon suddenly appeared out of that huge sandstorm! The flapping of this Pokémon's wings sounds like singing, and those who have heard it call Flygon the Desert Spirit.
Here's some footage for if you want to see Flygon (As well as hear its "singing") &/or the sandstorms it creates, & seemingly dispells. Some of the sandstorms seem to be tied to Crystabloom plants being lit up, though, like the one surrounding Tyranitar. Sand Stream?

16. Torchic often peck at the ground in search of pebbles. Eating pebbles helps it digest its food and makes the flames it exhales even hotter. You could say it's like feeding two birds with one stone!
Torchic eat rocks to help digest their food, & to make their exhaled flames even hotter. A limited amp, but neat info nonetheless.

Lycanroc, Midday Form can be seen picking a fight with Hippowdon, as well as with Tyranitar!
Lycanroc, Midnight Form can also fight with Tyranitar, according to Serebii ("Take a picture of Lycanroc Midnight Form fighting Tyranitar in Sands (Night)")... But I'm having trouble finding footage. : (
Anyway, possible basis for a scaling point?

18. Tyrantrum reigns like a king over the other land-dwelling prehistoric Pokémon around the volcano. It's completely unguarded when it sleeps-probably because it's so strong that it feels no need to be cautious.
More info that may be useful for scaling.

maybe tyrantrum scales to pseudo legends?
Huh? Tyrantrum, unlike Lycanroc isn't found in the same area as any Pseudolegendary Pokemon. So it doesn't have any interactions with them.

https://www.serebii.net/newpokemonsnap/photodex/tyrantrum.shtml https://www.serebii.net/newpokemonsnap/locations/volcano.shtml
It does have an interaction with Charizard.... "Take a picture of Tyrantrum roaring against Charizard".

But the Photodex entry, & most of its Pokedex entries, mostly put it in comparison to prehistoric Pokemon, & the Photodex clarifies it's for land-dwelling ones.... But the only other Fossil Pokemon in the Volcano Area are Aerodactyl, & Archeops.
The latter sort of qualifies as "land-dwelling", since it has trouble flying, & thus is more land-dwelling than flying.... I guess?
Thanks to its gargantuan jaws, which could shred thick metal plates as if they were paper, it was invincible in the ancient world it once inhabited.
Nothing could stop this Pokémon 100 million years ago, so it behaved like a king.
Complete restoration is impossible, allowing room for theories that its entire body was once covered in a feather-like coat.
The king of the ancient world, it can easily crunch a car with the devastating strength of its enormous jaws.
This Pokémon is from about 100,000,000 years ago. It has the presence of a king, vicious but magnificent.
A single bite of Tyrantrum’s massive jaws will demolish a car. This Pokémon was the king of the ancient world.

Ep 57, minute 8, 58 seconds in. There is a disk box with a psyduck, the disk art is pretty much the Pink Floyd album but instead of the prism there's psyduck. Basically Pink Floyd is now canon and he mains psyduck. That means that "The Wall" is canon and probably named "The Ball" which has songs about the deteriorating galarian school system that breaks young trainers. It is also possible that Nostalgia Critic is canon and made a cringe parody of "the ball" despite living in unova and knowing nothing about 1950s Galar.
TL;DR: Illuminati confirmed.

This was stated in the Pokémon Encyclopedia, but I know that without scans I couldn't proof anything, but I could find a merchandise card that has the same text as the one reported to be in the encyclopedia.

Porygon: In 1995, the Sylph Company, which studies Pokemon and makes goods, succeeded in creating artificial Pokemon using the best scientific power. It's a very rare Pokemon, but for some reason it's been traded at slot prize exchanges. The investigation is currently underway by the government, but it is expected to be clarified as soon as possible.

I always like when I find information that has never been translated before.

Btw, since S/M is stated to have happened 20 years after Porygon' creation, that means that it takes place in 2015

Porygon (especially Z) are pretty cool mons.

Meowth called Go "brat boy mk.2" according to the subtitles.

Also pokemon can dodge the light that returns them to the pokeball. Is it even light? does anyone know?

also i've been thinking. Maybe the reason why Ash's age theory doesn't work is because seasons in pokemon are not the same as on earth? like the ones in games are only one month long, so it would make sense if they worked that way in canon.

Anyways we need to buff galarian fossil pokemon.

Ash 2 episodes to his battle with iris prior didn't even know what moves his dracovish had and didn't seem to have trained it much after besides figuring out its moves.
Then in the fight, though Iris' dragonite was already somewhat harmed by Ash's dragonite's hurricane, it was visually shown to have not taken much damage. Ash's dracovish then proceeded to gulp it up while it was using dragon rush and then finish it off with an ice fang.
Beating a champion level dragonite (Iris is now an actual champion) with a single ice fang with only minor training should be enough to warrant 7-A for dracovish and those comparable to it.

hopefully they end the anime by ash becoming 11
and if they end it in a "it was all a dream" or "it was all a fairy tale" or "it was all a game" ending i am going to use flamethrower on the authors until i run out of pp

Finally updated the blog, now on the Lake Trio and Giratina. I hope to be able to update the blog with Arceus as soon as possible. After I finish the work on what each god represents and what they do, I'll update the blog with feats.

Finally, updated the blog with the info on Arceus.
Nice things that I was able to find

The name "Original One" wasn't used in the original text, and its Japanese counterpart was really only used in a few lines in one of the myths, nowhere else the name "Original One" was used. Every other time, the being is simply called "It/Itself" or "Heart". There was also no "Original Spirit" thing, it was always simply called "Heart".

Arceus is seen as the "Absolute Being" in the Japanese text, this line was removed from the localization. Also this fits with an interview that I found where Masuda explains that Arceus is the "God Who Transcends Everything".

The nature of the Distortion World as being the "anti space-time" is mentioned by Cynthia in the HG/SS event, but that line was removed from the localization.

The Creation Trio are directly said to be Arceus' alter egos, using a word that basically means when a God creates multiple selves to do different things. Also the "Three living beings" line from the Lake Trio creation is most likely just a showing that they aren't Arceus' alter egos, since this was never mentioned in the Japanese text.

The word "Heart" is generically used to mean "soul, spirit, mind". In the context of the Hiker event, it seems that it was heavily used to mean "mind", as words such as "perception/understanding" and "way of thinking" were used to explain what happened in the "Heart". It seems to be that originally there was an unconscious mind that had everything in a possible existence within it as one, and when that mind woke up, it started to perceive the world as it was created.

Thank you so much EX, you did an amazing job, your blog truly helps to have a much better understanding of the cosmology of this franchise.

👌

Low 1-C Arceus
Still, jokes aside, I think that there needs to be a big CRT based on this "new" information. As I do believe our current profiles are based on some slight misconceptions, such as the whole Original Spirit and Heart thing.

...I'm still confused about the Plates and those giants though.

I recall an italian Pokémon Youtuber who used this giant theory before. I thought it was a baseless thing and another random theory tho ngl

As I understand it, now the equivalent of the original spirit is "the heart".

Considering that Arceus is the direct manifestation of that thing.

However, there is the fact that what Cyrus wanted to use the Creation Duo to remove is definitely the Heart, the same Heart Arceus represents. So?

I don't think the "heart" or the thing that Arceus embodies is the same as the heart that Cyrus wants to erase.
