The Plates are extremely powerful artifacts that hold within them the very essence of all creation. This gives the user absolute control over all facets of the multiverse, from Minds, and Elemental powers, all the way to Souls.

In a way, both are called the same thing in Japanese. The one in Adventure is "(時間の狭間, Jikan no hazama)" and the one in Mystery Dungeon is "(ときの はざま, Toki no hazama), however "Toki/とき" is just the hiranaga of "時", the second kanji "間" is just there to give the sense of interval (so "Jikan" is "Intervals of time") and you can see that in hazama there's the same kanji (As Hazama is literally gap itself, so it's the gap in the gap if we want to get super literal).

So, both are literally "the gap/crack of time", there was just a different translation for "hazama" between the manga and the game.

So, a question about PokeSpe scaling.
In the HGSS arc, Arceus was purposefully holding back the entire time cause he was testing humans and everything, but is it also the case with the Creation Trio that Giovanni, Lance and Pryce fought? Were they also holding back?

They were Arceus giving form to the CT again, they later return to their dimensions (HGSS is a prequel in the manga, so they would later appear on the D/P/Pt chapter).

We work on the actual cosmology. The plates don't really serve much purposes beyond letting God play God
